Farm visit this morning!
My dreams of starting a Florida based rosella hibiscus (tea/seed) business is taking off! Hibiscus are drought and high heat tolerant which is a blessing with this intense heat wave. Ours won’t be at market until this coming fall, so all of them pictures in the rows are juvenile plants, in a month they should triple in height and look quite tree like in appearance with blossoms in yellow and pink hues!
Wildflowers, and zinnias are loving the heat and the unamended soil we placed them on! Their beauty is a win all they way around. Wildflowers also help revitalize nutrient deficient soil and make for a great chop and drop ground cover. Meaning we only need to mow over this area in early winter, so once a year. Plus I get to offer the bees something extra when they visit! 🐝🖤
