Coolspring is being overrun with new development. Coolspring used to be a predominantly African-American area. Now McMansions are running people out of those areas (rural gentification). Belltown folks are going to be run out of their area that used to be predominantly African-American. The same thing with Pinetown, Jimtown and Rabbit’s Ferry. West Rehoboth is now full of mostly condos that the local people can’t afford. In addition, Milton is beginning to be converted by small-town gentrification.”

A year ago, we had our Maddie breakthrough. If memory serves, it took 10 walks in 3 months to get there. Maddie had NEVER let me touch her head without considering taking a piece of my finger - it was a challenge to work up to clipping her lead. Probably more so my fear of her nipping, increased hers of my hands.

Maddie has a past with experiences, too. We all do.

This day, she was a brave girl and decided to TRUST once again, so did I. And we both have our heads and hands still 😉

I got THE BEST compliment the other day while walking Blu boy. Waved at neighbor, he called out “ARE YOU A SOCCER PLAYER?” ⚽️

I was wearing my typical uniform - tie dye tee, shorts and calf sleeve compression stalkings. I keep the shinguard tan alive lol He thought I was an active player! His daughter coaches…

Highly flattered. It’s been many a year. But I’m glad to know I still carry myself as one. My last official team was my old employer / engineering firm, Langan Lemurs. Co-ed. Turf field. In my 30s. Not easy 🥵

Ps - I near wear headphones while walking dogs or walking in public, period - we were having a rest and quick call. You need you hearing even on sidewalks in your neighborhood. Something / car could approach quickly or out of eye shot. Dogs see, hear and smell much more - they can pick up on something you’d never notice and it could get hazardous quickly.

Always use all your senses!

I transplanted (ie threw) pulled purslane “w**ds” into a potter early summer. Now I have another native pollinator food source! 🌺

They are a type of succulent and pretty hardy here. Easy to pull and establish elsewhere
