Most people are aware of how colorful fresh chickens eggs can be, but don’t overlook the duck eggs for color variation. We have a few runner ducks specifically chosen due to their likelihood to lay colored eggs. These blue duck eggs are perfect for all your egg recipes, and look good doing it 😎.

We are still bringing eggs out to our self service stand until the weather prevents us from using the outdoor fridge. Please also note, this time of year egg production is way down due to the length of day and colder weather, we bring them out as we get them, but right now it’s about a dozen a day, sometimes more and sometimes less, but always fresh from free ranged birds.

Summer squash are still coming in. As a bonus there are several “zucchini bread” size available since we missed a few days picking. All $1 each.

It certainly is a nice day for a walk in the woods. Remember, hunting season is here and whether your out enjoying the foliage or searching for gnomes, visibility is a must. Safety vests come in all shapes and sizes for your pets, unless you have Tony! Then you may need to find a reflective collar to do the job🤪.

Our ducks, chickens, and gooses🤪 are getting a new larger coop and play yard. This past week construction has gone from a flat deck to roofing going up. With the exception of the pressure treated base frame, we are using a combination of locally sawn lumber and reclaimed lumber. The roofing is also recycled from a previous installation.

As things progress we will post some of the designs we will be trying out. After ten years of raising chickens we’ve learned a thing or two, sometimes the hard way😎. When it comes to where to put a coop, location, location, location. This time it goes in the back yard!

In addition to the peaches, we spent a little time out in the garden picking an assortment of tomatoes and hot peppers.

Our pumps have started up and the maple sap is starting to flow. It won’t be long now😋

We are ready👀🎉👀, the finishing touches completed today for our Halloween spooky sugar shack. Join us this Halloween Tuesday 5-7. Stop in for treats 🍭 scares 👻 or both😱……….. if you DARE!!!! We are located at the bottom of brown rd. Our road is across rte 125 from the Milton town office building. Happy Halloween everyone.

The sap is flowing good today😄

201 taps in and the first sap of the 2023 season is filling the new storage tank quite well. We should be boiling this week for sure😋.
