Rehoming! Onyx is a 3 year old black lab pit mix. He's a playful sweet dog, he has been working with us on his training. However due to unfortunate circumstances he is looking for a new home. He loves taking naps, dog parks, and snuggling. He gets along with other dogs in social settings but gets reactive to other dogs and animals while on leash and with a fence/barrier in between. He'd do best in a home without cats and preferably no children under 9 years old.

Just a friend reminder as the cold weather sets in,

Shorter periods of time for our furry friends outside, unless you have stubborn huskies; as cold weather can put are pups at potential harms way!

Washing or wiping off paws after walks as salt is unsafe.

Using pet safe ice melt at home.

Most importantly have fun!

Tip for dog owners:

If you are doing something new with your dog for the absolute first time; they may not like it.

Examples:

A nail trim, a bath, wearing shoes/sweaters/collars etc. being on a leash, being in a kennel, being in the car, being around different types of animals, being around new people or children other than the ones in their house hold.

Most of these things take time and conditioning. Using high value treats can help (beef liver, chicken, ham, anything that your dog would not typically get of course in moderation).

Consulting a trainer is also a great option.

Most IMPORTANTLY be patient and keep training sessions short and sweet.

Update: He found a home!

This is Jaxson, he’s a 2.5 old lab mix. He is currently in URGENT need of rehoming due to unfortunate events. He has been working with us on basic obedience and leash manners. He is dog selective so would have to do a meet and greet prior to, so we can ensure they would get along. He’s a big cuddle bug! Adoption would be through One Paw Ahead Dog Training LLC. Would prefer a home with children 12+. Message me for details

Many owners are under the assumption they can’t take their new puppies out and about for socializing/exposure/training. Which isn’t true. There are plenty of safe ways to get your new puppy out and about for socializing! 8 weeks to 6 months old is a vital stage that can set a foundation for the rest of a dogs life.

With that being said we have a Doggie Day School Slot open start date is flexible between 01/23-02/01 at a discounted rate.

Specifically for a puppy aged 9-16 weeks
