🍅 🌈 Just me over here geeking out over nature’s rainbow - this was my harvest from Sunday - AFTER a frost!!

I probably won’t be getting any more tomatoes, but I’m so excited for this final haul (I have about 3x that in green tomatoes so salsa verde here we come!)

I’m also planning on creating some tomato sauce with the frozen tomatoes I have in addition to these! Id say there’s a good 40 pounds 😅

❄️Just because it’s cooler doesn’t mean your garden is done!🍁🍂

This time of year always reminds me how resilient nature is. So cool! We have been picking handfuls daily of green beans, strawberries and all the tomatoes. I’m watching as my neighbors are ripping out their crops in fear of the frost, without realizing how much they can still get!

I’ve got some fall planting I’m also doing so I’m not done yet, so here’s to chilly weather and cold-hardy plants! 🌱

I just had to share my sauerkraut with the world. It’s just too pretty. And let me just say, if you would have asked me if I thought sauerkraut was pretty 5+ years ago, I would have looked at you funny. 😂 (if you’re on IG, check out my latest reel, I post how I did it in the caption!)

Grass may be pretty, but pollinator and usable gardens are better! 🌱😬

A huge waste of water, time, unnecessary fertilizer usage, wasted money, and so.

My bestie works on a farm, and this weekend we exchanged birthday gifts with each other.

Not only that, but I also went home with POUNDS of veggies. Lots of sweet peppers, poblanos (two peppers I didn’t grow much of), watermelon, garlic, onions, leeks, greens, corn, pears and a sample of cilantro micro greens from her new biz! 🌱

Something gardening and food preservation has taught me is that it’s important to grow food for yourself, but it’s also equally as important to make connections and share what you’ve made with others!

🤝 On a small scale, it’s two friends exchanging canned goods and a pretty garlic bouquet. But as you grow, it can look like trading crops/goods for meat, grain, products + goods as well as creating stronger relationships with those around you.
