We wanted to brighten your Friday with some good news on the senior sweetheart we introduced you to last week… this 11lb cutie is doing well and looking – and feeling – better than ever thanks to your support! Spoofy is currently spending his days in a loving foster home where he continues his healing journey with specially formulated baths and medication. He has a few more weeks of treatment left before he'll be ready for a home of his own, but has come so far since the day we met him.

Today, Spoofy is safe, warm, and feeling so much better because of caring people like you ❤️ We are so grateful, thank you!

With the snow here and a cold snap heading our way in a few days, we want to share this tip in advance, just in case! ❄️
Doggie bathroom breaks can already be brutal in the winter and get even worse when temperatures plummet. 🥶 If you can find straw (not hay) at a local farm or a garden supply store, now would be a good time to snag a bale. A little goes a long way when spread in a small area of your yard. It can preserve your pup’s paws for a few valuable extra minutes during dangerously low temps, then covers any mud in the spring thaw!

He is definitely the Power of Love, and the of the week, from our friends at 102.9 The HOG! This young boy is a smart one, already knowing tricks, catching treats, and accepting all the petting! Power is neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, he is ready to find a loving home. His reduced adoption fee includes a starter bag of food and many more perks. Spoofy was running loose on the side of the road when some Good Samaritans came together to help him find his way to WHS. His fur was thinning across his body and missing entirely on his chest and stomach, all revealing red, itchy, highly inflamed skin. His condition was severe and his prognosis was heavily guarded.
For the past several weeks, this 8-year-old lovebug has been receiving a variety of medications, specially formulated baths, and an ongoing host of treatments. While his fur hasn't started to regrow much thus far, his skin has drastically improved and he's got to be feeling so much better. ❤️
We can’t be certain when he will be ready for a family of his own, but in the meantime, he could really use your support. We can't know for sure without a DNA test, but it seems that Kane might have a little bit of "retriever" in him 😉 Over the past year, our friends at Aqua Therapups LLC have been inviting our shelter dogs to stop by for some low-impact exercise and high-impact fun while they wait to find loving homes. We are so grateful to them for allowing our pups to burn off some energy, destress from the shelter environment, and experience something different and exciting! 💙

💛 With a golden coat and a heart to match, Hazel is not only a staff and volunteer favorite, but also the of the week from our friends at 102.9 The HOG. Her fans have some lovely things to say about her:
⭐ "Hazel is the sweetest, most lovable baby girl. I love how she sits with her tongue out and likes to snuggle her head into your body."
⭐ "Hazel is such a playful, cuddly girl. She came right up to me and was ready to go for her walk. She sat in my lap afterward and loved belly rubs."
