Not a cat post BUT if you've followed us for a minute, you'll know we also love rats!🐀

Rats make the most amazing pets. They're social, intuitive, friendly, and intelligent...they're quick learners especially when treats are involved!

Recently our partner shelter took in a ton of abandoned rats which included pregnant mama rats. Now, they're available for adoption!

If you're not quite ready to make the jump to adopting a cat (we know, you folks are out there❤️), please consider adding a sweet rattie to your family. You won't be disappointed.

We've had many Gizmos at Sip & Purr. But this Gizmo might just take the cake.

Gizmo is fine with bright light - especially sunlight, but midnight feedings are too late and we can only guess Gizmo isn't a fan of water.

Gorgeous Prudence will soon be looking for her forever home.💜

This is not a drill!

The first group of adoptable cats have arrived at Sip & Purr - and guys, we have some real gems!💎😻

We're not open to the public yet - we're giving the cats some time to settle into the new space, complete finishing touches, and conduct staff training.

We're anticipating opening to the public next week. How it's going to work: for the first few days we'll offer walk-in Cat Lounge visits. After that, for guaranteed kitty cuddle time, we'll move back to a reservation system. Be sure to check social media and our website for updates.

📸: Whitney, a seven-year-old super sweet girl who's obsessed with everyone. Whitney came to our partner shelter as a stray. No one claimed her, but that's ok because Whitney will make the best companion for a very lucky adopter. It took Whitney approximately two seconds to adjust to life at Sip & Purr.😻

Just like in the past, interested adopters should complete a cat adopter profile with . Once your app is approved, the shelter will inform us and you'll be set to adopt!🐈

The look Marge made when I told her that her days in foster care are wrapping up.😳

Marge and her brother Oscar have been such a pleasure to foster. They have TOTALLY settled into foster care -- maybe a little too much.😹 But, the whole point of foster care was to get them acclimated to sleeping on the bed with me, loving other cats, and coexisting with a 100 pound senior dog. Bo won't ever be their fave, but they've definitely accepted him. Mission accomplished!

Right now we're focused on getting the cafe up and running but wanted to start spreading the word that Marge & Oscar will soon be looking for their forever home.

These two are attached at the tail, so will need to be adopted together. The great news is that they ADORE other cats. If you're looking to add a sweet sibling duo to your family, Marge & Oscar might just be for you!

The new Cat Lounge is almost ready to greet our very first arrivals!🐈‍⬛

Update! We're waiting on a minor routine plumbing inspection from the city. And guys, this is the very last hurdle! We're hoping to wrap the inspection up this week, which means we'll be announcing our grand reopening any minute now.💃

Opening the new Sip & Purr has been, umm, what can we say, a journey?🤪The great news is that the new cafe turned out exactly how we hoped for. This is going to help us save so many more well-deserving cats. A bigger lounge, a larger behind-the-scenes area for the cats, and a fun cafe.

We can't thank y'all for coming along on this wild ride with us. Stay tuned for exciting announcements! They're coming!

We're so happy that this gorgeous piece ended up with Hummingbird Vision Art, who is not only an artist herself, but is mom to a spoiled tortie named Sephora.😻🎨

Not a cat...but looking for a good home.💙

This piece of art has a little history. Try to follow - it was originally created and signed by a local artist (who doesn't want it), hung in many moons ago, and we became the custodian of it. It's impossible for us to throw away art. SO, we paid to have it moved and stored and moved again.🤪 Now it's looking for a home.

It's a great piece and we know it would look wonderful somewhere - just not at Sip & Purr. It's 8 feet tall and four feet wide. Two people can easily move it.

EXCITING NEWS! We can finally let the cat out of the bag!🐈🎬🌍

Our international cat rescue work is featured in an upcoming documentary film, 25 Cats From Qatar, making its World Premiere in Milwaukee at the Milwaukee Film Festival on May 3rd.

From the creators of the film, Cat Daddies, 25 Cats From Qatar tells the story of why Sip & Purr has chosen to help cats from all corners of the globe, the effort that goes into rescuing cats from over 7,000 miles away, and the heartwarming stories of the cats and their rescuers who have dedicated their lives to animal welfare.

If you've ever been curious as to why Sip & Purr has chosen not turn our back on the suffering and instead has opted to step up and build bridges stretching across the globe saving cats who otherwise had absolutely no chance at living an enriched, healthy, and fulfilling life, this film is for you! (or if you just love cats like we do, you'll love this film!❤️)

We are thrilled to be a part of this project and can't wait for y'all to see this unlikely rescue story unfold on the big screen.

Will Oscar & Marge be the first cats to transfer to the new Sip & Purr? It's posible!❤️These two are still hanging in foster care and will be ready for adoption soon!

Speaking of the new Sip & Purr...inspections, staff training, and the first transports of cats are officially scheduled!💃It won't be long before the cats take over Brady Street!

If there's anything we've learned it's that things are fluid and can change at anytime. SO, until the last few boxes are checked we won't share our anticipated opening date. But, it's penciled in and as soon as we get the ok we'll share the news with y'all. We promise, it won't be long now!

In the meantime, enjoy all the cuteness of Oscar & Marge!🖤🤍🤎

Happy 20th birthday to Bitty, who now goes by Sophie!🎉🎂🥳

Sophie was adoption #250 over six years ago. It's wild how time flies!😺😳

At 20 years old, Sophie sleeps a lot, her fave places being in the sun on the platform in the window or next to the heating vent, especially during the cold Wisconsin winters.☀️🥶

Except for high thyroid levels, which are under control with meds, Sophie is a very healthy cat for 20 years old! Her adopters report she still even plays with the laser pointer on occasion!

Sophie's adopters adore her and it's quite apparent Sophie adores them as well!❤️

Thank you to Sophie's adopters for giving this senior gal the best home!🙏🥰

Big news!📣

After construction, planning, and permitting delays, we are finally in the homestretch on completing the buildout of the brand new Sip & Purr - just in time for kitten season!🐈‍⬛☕️

Additionally, unfortunately we became aware of an existing condition on the building that Sip & Purr needed to correct before we'd be able to obtain occupancy. As disappointing as this is, the fact remained Sip & Purr had no choice but to correct the defect which cost us even more time (and resources).😩 But, the good news is, it's full speed ahead and the new cafe is looking spectacular!

We're planning for a mid-April reopening which means we'll be back saving cats before you know it -- and that's what matters most.

So, what does this mean? As soon as final inspections and permitting have been completed we'll announce our opening date.

We have tons of fun events planned, especially with the upcoming release of a new documentary film, , featuring our international work.🌎🇶🇦🐈

An update from Silver who is living his best life in New Orleans!⚜️🔮🎺🎶🎭

Silver was rescued by a Good Samaritan after being dumped in the Qatar desert - in 115° blazing heat.🥵

Silver was barely clinging to life after suffering from dehydration, malnutrition, and severe sun exposure. The good smaritan rescued Silver and immediately made sure Silver received lifesaving care. Although Silver made a full recovery not one single person in Qatar was interested in adopting Silver.

Of course we said yes, we'd accept Silver into our international adoption program. After spending time with us in foster care, Silver found his forever home.

Eventually Silver made the move to New Orleans where he's living his best life with his new family which includes a feline sibling, who's just as goofy as Silver is!🐈

We can't help them all, but for the ones we do save seeing the outcome for our cats and their adopters is the highlight of our day. Silver's new parents can't imagine life without Silver.🩶
