Tobi may no longer be in the prime of his dog years but try telling him that! He's a little dog with a lot of sass. If he wants attention, he will give a little back. If he's hungry, he's going to huff & stare at you until you get your act together. He doesn't have many teeth left, but the ones he has he puts to good use. He loves treats & soft dog food. Tobi has no problem with other dogs & cats but would prefer a more mellow atmosphere. Due to his age, he will have to go out often. Tobi may also have some vision problems. While he still seems to have his sight, it is impaired, kind of the Mr. Magoo of dogs, but he manages to get around. he is a happy little guy looking for a welcoming place to live out his golden years. PUPDATE: Momma Fiona

Today is the first day since her ordeal that we feel confident that she is on the road to recovery! 💜 We have been monitoring her very closely and this morning is the first day that the color has started coming back to her gums (which means her body is FINALLY catching up on replacing all the blood that was lost).

What actually happened? Normally when a dog is altered, internal sutures are used to close off the incisions. As the body heals, it breaks down the sutures and they are absorbed and eliminated from their system, so they do not need to be removed. Fiona's body rejected the sutures, and her incision sites opened up causing extreme internal bleeding. Thankfully her foster mom noticed right away and got her to an ER. They ran some tests but determined that they did not have a surgeon available to perform the necessary surgery. Her foster rushed her to another clinic where they were able to perform the surgery, monitor her, and save her life. 🎉

The solution? Fiona was opened and the surgeon was able to quickly identify the problem. To stop the bleeding and fix the problem, they had to cut the "stump" from her spay to remove the damaged and infected tissues. New, special sutures were used to close her back up. She was extremely weak and lethargic from blood loss and a second surgery, so she's been being monitored very closely.

We would like to THANK EVERYONE who donated to help save her life! Please watch for more updates as Fiona regains her strength and transforms into a happy, healthy dog! She's a fighter and deserves her happily ever after! 🥹 She is currently on very strict "crate rest, no activity" protocol, but she's resting comfortably in her foster home. 💜

This charming 6-year-old French Bulldog is on the hunt for his forever home. Pierre arrived in rough shape, but with plenty of love & care, he’s making great progress—gaining weight & building strength in his back legs. Pierre is doing wonderfully with potty training & kennel training, & his playful personality is starting to shine. He adores toys & bones, but balls are his ultimate favorite. If you’re up for a game of fetch, you’ll win his heart in no time! Pierre is great with children & cats, making him a wonderful addition to a family. Cedar’s journey began in heartbreak—her mama was found as a stray in Texas, pregnant & scared. We saw her big belly & gentle face & couldn’t leave her behind. Just one day after rescue, Cedar & her siblings were born. Her mama has found a forever home, but Cedar is still waiting. 🫣 Grab your Kleenex... Yesterday we introduced you to Alice, this poor girl has been through it. She has been in foster care for just over a week and was doing amazing. Our amazing foster noticed that she seemed really off and wasn't feeling the greatest. She was lethargic the first day, but then she had diarrhea, and vomited. We THOUGHT it was from eating a puppy chew but given what she has been through already we quickly ran fecal tests and the dreaded parvo test. The parasite tests were negative, the parvo test was instantly positive. 😭 We called ERs looking for the new parvo antibody vaccine, and our amazing local clinic, VCA-MECCA had some in stock, so her foster rushed her in for treatment. Alice is currently under in home treatment and we are working with the vet staff to ensure she is on her way to a full recovery, but we need some help. This girl has been through so much in her few weeks. The vets think she is actually only about 8-9 weeks old. She had her ear cut off. She was stabbed in the head multiple times. She was starved and covered in fleas. She was thrown away, never given any care and NO VACCINES. Parvo is a very deadly virus that can be PREVENTED with simple vaccinations. It's extremely contagious. If you read this and take anything away, PLEASE let it be to vaccinate and alter (spay/neuter) your pups. Let Alice be the poster pup, so others don't have to endure the pain and suffering she has faced. We need help to cover her on going medical expenses and to help others avoid facing this same future. For #GivingTuesday we are asking for help with funds to get an emergency dental completed for our recent intake Tobi. He is a 9-year-old Yorkie who unfortunately has an infected mouth with pus and sores. He is very painful & uncomfortable. We are working diligently to find a vet right now to take his case quickly, but we also will need about $1500-$2500K in order to get him into surgery ASAP. Please consider donating to Tobi's care!!!
