🌟 Vet Tech Week Spotlight: Meet Abbey! 🐾🧶📚

As we continue to celebrate the amazing individuals behind the care your pets receive, we’re excited to shine a light on Abbey, one of our dedicated Veterinary Assistants here at St. Francis Animal Hospital!

Abbey’s love for animals began early — her very first job in high school was in a veterinary clinic! After recently returning to the field, she jumped right back in and is now working toward becoming a Veterinary Technician. For the past year, she’s brought passion, curiosity, and care to everything she does, and we’re so proud to support her as she continues to grow in her career. 💉🐶🐱

Outside of the clinic, Abbey enjoys watching movies, crocheting, reading, and spending time with her two nieces and nephew. She’s also a proud cat mom to two spoiled kitties who rule the house — and her heart. 🐾🐈💕

🌟 Vet Tech Week Spotlight: Meet Marisa! 🐾💙🐕

As we continue to celebrate the amazing veterinary professionals who care for your furry family members, today we’re excited to introduce Marisa, one of our wonderful Certified Veterinary Assistants here at St. Francis Animal Hospital!

Marisa has been a certified Veterinary Assistant since 2016, after graduating from Milwaukee Career College. Her passion for animals started early — she grew up surrounded by dogs, cats, rats, ferrets, and even reptiles! 🐶🐱🦎🐀

At the clinic, Marisa loves assisting during exams and helping ensure every pet feels safe, calm, and cared for during their visit. Her gentle nature and compassionate approach make her a favorite with both pets and their people.

When she’s not at work, Marisa enjoys spending quality time with her son and her sweet dog Frankie. At home, she also has two playful cats — Jordy and Nala — who definitely keep life interesting! 🐕🐾🐈

We’re so lucky to have Marisa on our team, and our patients are even luckier to be in her care.

Mo has been working in veterinary medicine for the past four years, after completing two years in a veterinary technician program. Her favorite part of the job? Making sure both pets and their people receive the absolute best care possible. 🐶🐾💛

At home, Mo is a proud cat mom to four wild and wonderful cats, but her heart has a soft spot for ferrets, too! When she’s not in the clinic, you’ll likely find her curled up with a good book, recharging with some quiet time. 📖🐾

As we continue celebrating the incredible individuals behind the care your pets receive, today we’re shining a light on Jen Valerine — our Practice Manager and a Certified Veterinary Technician here at St. Francis. Yes, she truly wears all the hats! 🎩🐶📋

A proud Wisconsin native, Jen’s journey in veterinary medicine began back in 1997, fueled by a lifelong passion for animals. She became a CVT in 2006 and has since built an outstanding career in both clinical care and leadership — with experience ranging from general practice and emergency medicine to exotics and wildlife care. 🐕🦝🦜

Jen has led teams in single hospitals and multi-site practices, and today, she brings her full range of skills to St. Francis — balancing patient care, team support, and day-to-day operations with grace and grit. 💪💼🩺

She’s passionate about strong client communication, compassionate care, and building collaborative, high-functioning teams. Whether she’s in scrubs assisting with a patient or in a meeting refining clinic protocols, Jen’s leadership helps keep everything running smoothly — and always with the well-being of pets, clients, and staff in mind.

🌟 Vet Tech Week Spotlight: Meet Bee! 🐾🦎✨

We’re continuing to celebrate our amazing veterinary team, and today we’re thrilled to introduce one of our newest (and most passionate!) faces — Bee, Veterinary Assistant at St. Francis!

Bee joined the veterinary field in June 2024, but their journey with animals started long before that. After realizing the editorial world wasn’t their true calling, Bee found a spark working in a pet store — and that passion has only grown! 🐍🐾🐱

Now fully immersed in veterinary medicine, Bee is preparing to apply for vet school with dreams of working in zoos, wildlife conservation, and research. Their love for exotics is unmatched, and it shows in everything they do — from caring for reptiles to advocating for animals often overlooked. 💚🌿

At home, Bee shares life with their partner and a mini menagerie: a blue tongue skink, leopard gecko, bearded dragon, and two fabulous cats. 🦎🐉🐈🐈

We’re so excited to be part of Bee’s journey and can't wait to see where their passion and drive will take them next!

This week, we’re celebrating the amazing veterinary support team that keeps our clinic thriving — and today, we’re excited to introduce you to Hannah, one of our talented Veterinary Assistants here at St. Francis!

Hannah brings over 9 years of experience in the pet industry, starting in doggy daycares before transitioning into veterinary medicine 3 years ago. Her favorite part of working in vet med? The constant opportunity to learn, grow, and deepen her knowledge in a field she’s truly passionate about. 🐶🩺📚

At home, Hannah is a proud pet parent to Heidi, a sweet rescue poodle who’s always ready for the next adventure. Together, they enjoy hiking, camping, road-tripping, and unwinding with yoga, a good book, or live music. 🌲🎶🐩🧘‍♀️

🎉 Vet Tech Week Spotlight: Meet Steph! 🐾🩺✨

This week, we're honoring the dedicated veterinary professionals who care for your pets like family — and today, we’re excited to introduce Steph, one of our amazing Certified Veterinary Technicians here at St. Francis!

Steph has been working in veterinary medicine since 2017 and became a CVT in 2021. She’s passionate about providing high-quality care to all types of animals, but has a special love for pocket pets and exotics — the smaller and more unique, the better! 🐰🦜🐁

In the clinic, Steph shines when assisting with surgery, monitoring critical care patients, and performing dental procedures. Her attention to detail and calm presence make her an incredible advocate for every animal in her care. 🦷💉❤️

Outside of work, Steph enjoys oil painting, crafting, and photography — and loves getting outdoors to hike with her partner and their dog, Ghost. At home, she shares her life with a sweet cockatiel named Kiwi and two adorable bonded lop-eared rabbits, Moose and Fiona. 🎨📸🌲🐕

🎉 Vet Tech Week Spotlight: Meet Celia! 🐾

This week, we’re celebrating the dedication, knowledge, and compassion of our incredible veterinary technicians — and today, we’re proud to highlight Celia!

Celia has been working in veterinary medicine for 9 years, starting her journey as a receptionist before quickly advancing into clinical roles. After completing a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program, she became a veterinary assistant and went on to earn her Veterinary Technician License in 2016 after passing the VTNE. 🎓

Her experience is as impressive as it is diverse — from general practice to specialty departments like surgery, emergency, urgent care, anesthesia, rehabilitation, and advanced imaging (CT), Celia brings a wealth of skill and calm confidence to every case.

Currently, she’s pursuing her Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology and studying to become a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner, showing her ongoing commitment to learning and improving patient care.

Outside the clinic, Celia enjoys nature walks, cuddles with her pup Cricket, reading, music, and catching up on her favorite TV shows.

We’re so lucky to have Celia as part of the St. Francis family, and our patients are even luckier to be in her expert, caring hands.
