We are extremely excited to announce that Maverick is officially up for adoption! 🥹💚

This sweet and shy boy came to us completely shut down, afraid of people and unsure how to do anything. He spent the first year and a half of his life in shelters and didn’t know anything else. He had never gotten to lay on a couch before we took him in. He was scared of a television because he had never seen something like that before! With lots of love, patience, and some dog friends to show him the ropes, Mav has turned into a great dog. He is playful, loves to go on walks, and will do anything for some chin scratches. He might not be the bravest dog around, but he sure is the sweetest. 💚

Maverick’s adopters are required to have an outgoing, social dog. He is learning how to “dog” from his foster family’s dog and needs a confident companion. 🐾

We know sometimes adoption fees seem like a lot. $500 might seem expensive for a rescue puppy, but here’s the thing:
-It costs $200-250 to spay and neuter each dog.
-All of our dogs are vaccinated and dewormed prior to adoption, which is $40-100.
-Dog food, medical care, toys, and supplies also cost money. Thankfully, we have a large enough stock of dog food so this does not usually affect our rescue.
-All the dogs CURRENTLY in our rescue and that are a part of this adoption special came to us from the shelter already fixed! 🐾

We’re a nonprofit animal rescue. This means we don’t make money on adopting out dogs and cats. 💚

Palo is a sweet and shy puppy. He is about 6 months old and loves going for walks, snuggling on the couch, and hoarding squeaker toys in his crate.

Palo looooves other dogs and does fine with cats. He would love a friend he can snuggle up on the couch with! He’s already neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and ready to move into your life 🥰 Like most puppies, we are working on potty training and learning basic commands. Palo’s safe space is his crate and he is a pretty quiet pup! We think he will be about 30 lbs full grown.

Palo’s adoption fee is reduced for the holiday to $250. He is an amazingly loyal dog! 💚🐾

Pepper is ready to be your best friend! 🥰Matching sunglasses? Count her in. She might be a little shy at first, but she warms up quickly and is the sweetest girl. She loves her people and gets so excited to see them that she jumps literal feet in the air.

Pepper loves treats, walks, and snuggling on the couch. Being a petite 25 lbs, she’s the perfect size to snuggle! We think she is about 3 years old. Pepper’s potty trained and sleeps in a kennel at night. She gets along great with other dogs and is neutral around cats.

Say hi to Zero the Doberman mix puppy!!🐾

Zero is an adorable puppy who has been in our rescue for a few weeks. He’s happy to snuggle up on the couch for a movie night, or keep himself busy defluffing a toy! He’s content in any type of household and just wants to be loved. Zero is being fostered with a large 70 lb pitty and two cats. He gets along great with all of them and would love to have a furry sibling in his forever home.

We need fosters. We are running on empty. Please consider fostering, even if it is for a short period of time! 💚

We have several dogs and kittens who are all in need of foster homes. Our rescue is centralized in Bay View, but we are open to fosters within 3 hours of the Milwaukee area!

Our foster families do NOT need to pay for pet supplies or vet expenses. The rescue covers these things and all we need from you is to provide a safe and caring home for these homeless animals until they are adopted! It is such a fun and rewarding process, and our team is here for you every step of the way! 🐾

🐾 Meet Milo 🐾

Milo is an almost one-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog mix who’s learning that the best life is an indoor one! After spending his whole puppyhood outside and at the end of a chain, Milo has officially decided that being an inside dog is his true calling, and he’s not looking back! 👀

This handsome boy is heartworm negative, fully vetted, and full of love. He weighs a cool 68 lbs, which is the perfect size to be your foot warmer (or lap warmer). He’s got long legs built for adventure, but his favorite place is right in your lap. The moment you start petting him, he just melts into you, because all he wants in the world is human love and attention 🥹

Milo is ready to start his next chapter!
After everything he’s been through, he deserves nothing less than a real home filled with warmth, belly rubs, and people who adore him 💕

Bio
Buck is sweet and energetic boy who wants to make friends with everyone! He is learning to sit, wait, and knows when it’s kennel time in the crate. He is potty trained, loves to go for walks, and will play tug with all the toys. Buck is learning very quickly! He loves snuggling in bed at bedtime and sits on the couch to wind down with his people. He currently lives with cats (who he tries his very best to play with). He does well with being active playing with toys in the yard and going for long walks. His favorite place is on the couch watching out the window. He does not mind being held like a baby when he’s sleepy and seems to enjoy every person he meets! Buck has not been around kids as of yet. He gets excited to play and with people and jumps straight up to say hello but is learning “down” quickly too!

💚 Maverick introduction and update: 💚

This is Mav. He was born in Texas and was pulled from a hoarding house with 48 other dogs when he was a puppy. He was then moved from shelter to shelter. He’s almost two now, and found himself in his very first foster home this week.

We tagged Maverick and brought him to Wisconsin on Friday. He’s had a few days to decompress and learn what a safe home is. He doesn’t really trust people yet. But what he DOES trust and enjoy? Dogs. His foster home has three friendly dogs who are slowly teaching him how to be a dog. He’s extremely skittish, timid, and probably the most anxious dog our director has ever met. But that’s okay. That’s what dog rescue is about- rehabbing dogs that need us.

Maverick didn’t eat for the first 3 days here. He cowered in the corner of his crate, didn’t make eye contact with anyone, and he just tried to pretend he didn’t exist. He doesn’t know how to be a dog outside of a shelter environment, and we’re here to change that!

He went to the vet for the first time yesterday and we are starting him on fluoxetine to help manage his anxiety.

Last night he went for a walk with the other dogs in his home. It was scary, and he did try hiding in the bushes and cowered every time there was signs of life, but it’s progress! It was Maverick’s FIRST walk ever and his first time ever being in a harness. He was feeling confident enough to pick up a bone to chew on this morning. He will even wag his tail at his foster parents now. We have so much hope for this sweet boy! 💚

Meet Pepper! 💚

Pepper is a little shy at first, but once she opens up she’s full of love. Pepper just wants to cuddle all day… the couch is her favorite place! She’s done great with our dog and is extremely gentle to all that she’s met. She’s excited to see you even when you’ve walked out of the room for ten minutes. Pepper jumps feet in the air because she’s so happy to see you.

Pepper hasn’t been tested with kids yet, but her gentle nature leads us to believe she would do great in a family environment!
