We are heartbroken for Milo. He is still waiting to be adopted. He has gotten no interest. 💔

His adoption fee has been paid. He is neutered, vaccinated, housebroken, and kennel trained. He gets along with dogs and cats. 🐾

We rescued him when he was completely emaciated and covered in sores and rehabbed him. He’s a healthy 45 lbs, happy and loving. Our veterinarian estimates him to be only 2 years old.

Milo would do well in a smaller space. Apartment, house, condo… anywhere that there’s a couch for him to snuggle up on is good enough for him! He is quiet in his kennel, but can be left out of it during the day without coming home to a destroyed house. He loves playing fetch, going for car rides, and chewing on a bone. He’s your typical pup and very well behaved!

🚨 Kitten season is approaching quickly! 🚨

While kittens are undeniably cute, the reality of kitten season can be quite challenging. We won’t sugar coat it. Our amazing team of fosters are specially trained in neonatal care for these little ones, as the process can be incredibly taxing both emotionally and physically. 🐾

Kittens discovered abandoned and under 5 weeks old require round-the-clock care, including bottle feeding every 2-3 hours, even during the night. This involves warming the bottle, measuring out the formula, and sometimes even burping them. Fosters must help them with basic needs like urination and defecation, as they are unable to do so on their own. Without a mother to provide warmth, these tiny creatures cannot regulate their body temperature until they reach at least 5 weeks old age. This requires the use of heating pads or expensive incubators to ensure they stay warm and comfortable. 🐱

Please, use caution when finding kittens outside this spring. If they are truly abandoned or in harms way, reach out to us. 📲

Good intentions don’t always end well!
Unless a kitten you find outdoors is injured or critically sick it should generally be left alone. Oftentimes mother cats are only away in search of food and will return. Please refer to the guide below if you find stray kittens. It is crucial for their survival.

🐾 TESSA’S LITTER PUPDATE 🐾

Tessa and her ten puppies are doing great! They’re growing, and are finding their voices. They’re also starting to discover toys and playing with one another. We will be introducing them to puppy food later this week too- so stay tuned! 💕

We URGENTLY need an addition to the whelping box. Ten puppies won’t fit in there for long, especially as they’re starting to go potty on their own and discovering the potty pads. 🐾 Meet Walter - our longest resident 🐾

Walter has been waiting for home for four months. He has not received a single adoption application. Walter was found dumped in Texas, and was sitting on a euthanasia list until we rescued him. 💔

Adopting an adult dog is easy, and rewarding. They are usually already trained and know the basics. He is completely housebroken, walks well on a leash, and has good recall. His current foster mom takes him on long hikes when the weather is nice enough! He is a loyal dog who knows basic commands and loves everyone he meets. 💕

Walter needs to be the only dog in a household. He is a very confident dog and wants to be the center of your world. He would do great with a job, like most shepherds, and would probably love farm life! 🐾

Baby’s first steps! 🥹

Cotton Candy was the 10th puppy to be born from Tessa’s litter. Not only was she the last to leave the womb, but she was born unresponsive and not breathing. Thankfully we had Tessa’s amazing foster mom assisting in the birthing process and she was able to revive this little girl. 🐾

One of the most rewarding parts of rescue and fostering is watching animals go from struggling to thriving. We’re so excited to watch this little girl continue to grow. 💕

💞 PUPDATE - 2 WEEKS OLD 💞

Tessa's puppies are officially tiny dogs. They have all opened their eyes and are developing their own personalities. They're still completely dependent on mom, but big enough that mom can leave them for a few minutes to play ball with her foster family or play out in the snow. 🐾

When pups are first born, they are blind, deaf, and can't use the bathroom without the help of their mom. At two weeks, they start to see and hear the world around them. As heeler puppies grow, they will start developing speckles and spots on their bodies! You can already see the spots coming in on their noses. 🥰

Tessa's puppies will be available to go on adoption trials April 1st. Tessa will be available April 10th, after she is spayed.

🐾 Meet Milo! 🐾

LONG TIMER REDUCED ADOPTION FEE

Sweet 1 year old Milo came to us after local animal control found him emaciated, covered in sores, and afraid of everything. With love, food, and a warm couch to nap on, he is now happy and healthy! Milo does well with most dogs and is curious about cats. He needs a home with no young children. He loves to snuggle up and enjoys car rides. 🚗

Milo has been with our rescue since November and is still searching for his forever home. We’re reducing his adoption fee in hopes he can find a family of his own! 💕

Milo is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has a negative f***l and heartworm test. He is potty trained and knows basic commands. He is about 45 lbs. 🐾

Romeo is smart, knows his name, and is so close to mastering potty training. His goofy ears are great for listening, and honestly makes him so much cuter. We suspect he is an Aussie mix- maybe with some border collie added in. With his small paws, we think he will max around 30 lbs…. but you never know for sure! 🐾💖

💕 PUPDATE 💕

Today we took Tessa and all TEN of her puppies to the vet! We learned that Mama is still a baby herself…. maybe 1-2 years old at most. The puppies are 8 days old today. We have six boys and four girls total in her litter, and they’re growing like weeds! Everyone is happy, healthy, and gaining weight like they should be. 💘

Thank you to Dr Kelly and the team at Good Land Veterinary Clinic for taking such good care of all the babies! 🐾

We’ll be posting more pictures of the puppies and their names later this week. Stay tuned!

🐾 Meet Walter 🐾

Walter’s a beautiful adult brindle German Shepherd who is loving his time in Wisconsin. We rescued him from a kill shelter in Texas where he was scheduled to be euthanized for space. He enjoys going for long walks and exploring. He’s an outdoorsy guy who just needs a hiking buddy. 💚

He loves to nap on the couch. He’s potty trained. He’s a good copilot in the car. Really, he’s a perfect boy and needs a place to call home. Walter hasn’t received a single application since coming to Wisconsin. 💔

His only requirement is that he is a solo dog. No need for dog siblings here. Let Walter be the center of your world, you won’t regret!

Yesterday was a big day for Mamma T. Her puppies arrived! After a very long and stressful day, she has TEN healthy puppies. Her water broke around 3am Monday morning and the first pup was born at 6:10am! 🐾 The last puppy was born at 2:45pm. Mom is doing great and resting when she can. She had four girls and six boys who are all happy and healthy.

💕 PREGNANCY PUPDATE 💕

After a long two day journey, sweet Momma Tessa has arrived at her foster home in Milwaukee. She’s very pregnant and we have suspicions that her puppies are going to be making an appearance very soon! Lucky for this girl- BBC Lighting is sponsoring Tessa and her pups! Right now Momma T is enjoying her whelping box and getting lots of love. Tessa is a 2 year old heeler who was left af a kill shelter in Texas and was going to euthanized. We couldn’t let that happen to this sweet girl. 🐾

🐾 Meet Wonder! 🐾

Wonder is a 12 week old kitten who was found by a TNR group. They soon realized that something was different about him- he has a rare eye condition called microphthamlia! This means his eyes are abnormally small. His veterinarian says that his case is mild and shouldn’t affect his vision at all. He still plays, chases, and climbs like a typical kitten.

Wonder is a sweet, snuggly, and perfect little kitten. He can be shy at first, but warms up quickly and loves everyone! He does well with cats and with a proper introduction, we think he would do good with dogs too.

Not only is this little guy adorable and considered a special needs cat, he is a panleuk survivor! 💪🏻
