Monarchs and other butterflies and moth species need our help! 🧡 Here on grounds, we take many conservation actions to support essential pollinators. One thing you can do at home is Leave the Leaves 🍂 Leaves offer shelter for many butterfly and moth species during winter. Non-migratory mid-stage caterpillars that enter diapause often use silk to web the leaves together into a tight roll.

Don’t let this sponsorship of the monarch butterfly flutter by you. Sponsorship includes a unique butterfly plush-toy slap bracelet, milkweed seeds, a certificate of sponsorship and many more sponsor benefits! zoosociety.org/sponsoranimal

Offer ends Oct. 31 or while supplies last. Order online or call 414‑258‑2333.

We're buzzing with excitement! The endangered rusty-patched bumblebee was spotted right here on Zoo grounds this summer! Check out these photos of our tiny, but mighty visitor. 🐝📸 Did you know you can help protect endangered species like the rusty-patched bumblebee this fall? It's simple: Leave the Leaves! 🍂

By letting leaves stay on the ground, you're providing critical winter shelter for pollinators and wildlife. It's a small step that makes a BIG difference! Learn more about the campaign and how you can help: https://www.zoosociety.org/conservation/local-regional-initiatives/leave-the-leaves/

🎨🐢 We’re excited to announce the winners of this year’s Kids’ Green Art Contest, themed “Aquatic & Reptile Center”! A big shoutout to Emily C., our overall winner in the 11-12 category, for her fantastic “Fly River Turtle Habitat” made from recycled materials. Emily’s creative design captured the turtle’s habitat at the Zoo using items that would have otherwise been recycled.

Check out all the amazing entries in our online gallery https://www.zoosociety.org/things-to-do/events/kids-green-art-contest-entries/

Consider sponsoring Penny the Zoo's Fly River Turtle to support our mission and ongoing conservation efforts. 🧡
