Did you know Canine Cupids is fully volunteer-run, non-profit dog rescue? That means all the work that goes into the care of the dogs and making content that we hope will catch the eye of their future adopters is all thanks to our dedicated volunteers!
🐾
So wanna see some behind the scenes? We've been posting some photos and videos lately from a day that we had three volunteers head up a "content day" where fosters (also volunteers) brought their dog over one at a time. While a lot of hard work went into this - we also had so much fun! Enjoy the outtakes.
🐾
And remember, you can learn all about how to adopt one of the dogs in this video, what volunteer opportunities are available, or how you can make a donation on our website: https://www.caninecupids.org
As promised, Part 2 of Alfie’s story: After being adopted, Alfie came back to us this fall. Circumstances with his adopter’s family changed, and this post isn’t really about that. Instead, it’s about Canine Cupid’s commitment to the dogs that pass through our rescue.
🐾
A wonderful foster home opened up and brought Alfie back into our rescue. And they have worked really hard with him to get him ready for his furever home! You can see all the amazing things he’s learned with his foster family in this video.
🐾
As a non-profit dog rescue, we wouldn’t be able to provide the care and support we do now without help from our donors. You’ll have to stay tuned for Part 3 (when Alfie gets adopted)!

You have tons of great nonprofits to choose from when thinking about donating today…so why choose Canine Cupids? Because we choose the underdogs too.
🐾
You’ve probably seen our posts about Lily…she’s so cute so how could you forget a face like that? Well Lily was at the shelter for two months before one of our foster homes chose to break her out and let her live with them until she finds her furever home.
🐾
Lily is a senior dog and we still took her in knowing that meant that she could hang out with us longer than others and that it might be harder to find a furever home for her. So please consider donating to us this #GivingTuesday so we can continue to pull more dogs like Lily who might take a little more time with us than others.

Canine Cupids is a 501c3 non-profit, foster home-based dog rescue run entirely by volunteers. Our mission is to protect and improve the lives of the homeless, neglected, and exceptional needs dogs in Milwaukee and neighboring areas, and to place them in permanent, loving homes. We rescue dogs of all shapes, sizes, colors, and breeds, including the medically needy. We have a soft spot for the underdog!

Meet Rosemary!
Have you met Rosemary?? Rosemary has a heart bigger than her head – an impressive feat for a blocky-headed dog. She leans her whole body into cuddles and will bring her toys right to your hand, wiggling in excitement to play with you. She can also read your energy and knows when to self-entertain if you’re not in the mood to play. She is moderate energy – she loves to run and play, but also tires out quickly, so no need to worry about multiple-hour walks. As long as she can get her energy out, Rosie would likely be fine with kids who are old enough to respect her boundaries and not get knocked over by zoomies. She is fully potty trained, and tolerates her crate but is left free-roaming at her foster home with no issues.
🐾
Rosemary has been in foster care with Canine Cupids for awhile now and we just know her furever home is out there! Watch this video and visit our website to learn more and apply to adopt her: https://www.caninecupids.org/adopt

To all animal lovers: If you have been on social media, you have seen that shelters are full. As in “hard decisions have to be made each day” full and it's only getting worse. We cannot imagine how hard that is for everyone involved; from the amazing dogs who didn't get a second chance to employees who have to make that call.
Canine Cupids covers all costs of necessities and offers help with training, introductions to other dogs, walking, transport to vet visits, and coverage if you need to be out of town or a vacation.
Every dog we foster is an open kennel at a shelter and a pup who gets another chance. This isn’t a guilt trip and if you can’t you can’t, but if you can… please do. Thank you all for your dedication to these pups, they appreciate it more than you can ever know.
Hear from our foster homes on why they foster and apply today at caninecupids.org
