**Update on getting her home**

Sorry for the teasers and delay

It’s been surreal to have Ruth back and we just needed a moment to relish in it.

At about 1pm yesterday we got a phone call. I expected another call that was either support and no sighting or a possible sighting that once we began talking second guessed themselves and decided they hadn’t seen Ruth after all.

Instead, this was the person who found Ruth!

They told us it was definitely her and to meet them at 4pm. That was the longest 3 hours!

They said they found her in traffic, judging by the three camera angles of Mcloughlin which never showed Ruth in the street and a quiet parking this was hard to understand but if she was and we missed it we are thankful they helped prevent danger.

They said they didn’t want her to be put down, she was clearly healthy and well loved, not a stray, so they decided not to take her to the shelter. When I told them she was chipped they said they didn’t think she was so they didn’t take her to a vet to be scanned.

They said they planned to keep her, they said she was a good dog, they said they saw my reward flyers and had a change of heart.

The reward brought her home, I honored it and i am beyond thankful for everyone’s efforts and donations.

Not only is this dog fiercely loved but this experience taught us a lot and inspired us to put together some public education on what happens at shelters, what to do when you find a dog, and the importance of a foundation for lost dogs because not everyone can amass the support we have been blessed with.

We’re so thankful and intend to pay every effort and penny forward.

You people are amazing. ❤️🙏

Things we have done:
-Checked the surrounding area on foot (several times a day for days)

-Gone door to door in the surrounding area (as well as areas the animal communicators suspected and gone door to door)

-Talked to the BK employees and looked for cameras (great BK employee help, no cameras at all)

-Hung flyers (2,000 dollars worth now covering the area post to post and expanding throughout the city and state as much as our friends have been able to assist with)

- Emailed flyers to every vet and shelter in Oregon, S Washington, and as many other states throughout the United States as our friends have been willing to assist with.

- hit stores, churches, schools, senior centers, gas stations, bars, etc (anywhere “old people” go)

-flyered pet stores and pet facilities

-flyered parks, both human and dog parks

- given flyers to mail people, ups, and bus drivers

- Called every local vet personally as well.

- walked into every shelter every other day.

- checked repeatedly for any microchip scans, learned that unless the dog is reported as found many places do not scan routinely

- we hit Craigslist (and do so every few days)

- we paid for every online “find my dog” site and paid for the cold call amber alert options.

- tried animal trackers but because she left in a car in a city no one will (or should from my education now) take the case

- tried 4 animal communicators and we are trying a fifth, some spookily similar details that raised our hopes and some cruelty as well.

-Contacted two PI, one is helping behind the scenes with number look ups on the weird calls and the other said we’ve already cover their bases and it’s not worth paying them for anything but a stake out in case the person returns to the scene or if we get a solid lead of where they went.

-Fought to get sheriff attention, have two sheriff on the case, they’ve told us to find footage of a face or license plate and they’re there if we want to press charges upon finding Ruth.

-Found camera footage at three adjacent stores. One has given us the footage, one is promising but no luck yet, one refuses to turn over anything without the sheriff - im begging the sheriff to go get it before the video records over itself (most do this at 7-12 days)

-Found camera footage down the road to the right (the Wongs granite footage told us the car turned right out of BK) unfortunately we can’t tell if the right car passed this camera or not.

- if the car passed this Camera they would make it to the next camera we have access to, a car dealership who swears they get every license plate on film for 14 days. They were looking, we will follow up today.

- we have contacted Trimet busses and are seeing if they got anything. Their new buses record 14 days and it’s accessible with a police report. This angle would also get a license plate if it exists.

- next we will do the EDDM (direct mass mailing) as much as possible, take out a full page ad in the state paper (I can’t find any local options) if it’s possible, and repeat flyering as most areas strip flyers every 7-10 days.

If you have suggestions that do not include these things I’m all ears.

I’d especially love HELP!

If there’s someone not contacted or a group unposted can you help us post then let us know it was done?

🙏❤️

Someone posted a dog on their page in South Salem that they found a dog that looks like Ruth.

The relaying woman is looking for the post, they saw it yesterday, it wasn’t in a group, just on a wall.

We can’t do much now but wait for the post to be found.

Cross your fingers it’s real. 🤞🏻

Could everyone who is in the area post on their NextDoor neighborhoods if they haven’t already?

Hey All,

Thanks to everyone who has showed us so much support.

One more way you could help out is to find and comment on Ruth’s photo on all the lost dog groups that she has been posted to so they get bumped to the top of the page.

All your help has been greatly appreciated! ❤️

New information to research on:
Another Animal communicator felt this information from Ruth. We are searching the wrong area on foot.

She took a left out of the Burgerking - total drive was approximately 10-12minutes.

Left out of Burgerking
Straight for 5-8min
Turned right near 2-3 shops (maybe a plaid pantry)
Hit a Stop sign and turned right after 3-4min
House on right
Not a nice neighborhood
White House, green on it, and brick by the door
Yard has chainlink

She’s not being allowed to bark
They have a golden and a bichon / white fluffy dog in the yard
They have access to the house but spend most of the time in the yard

Car is maybe a Buick or something similar
Car is parked in front of an attached garage

We’ll be heading out by car to look, if anyone has some time to map track it’s worth a shot!

(No reports from police yet)

A few folks have expressed interest in helping to support the cause to bring Ruth home.

While the intent of this page is not to ask for money, this has become quite an expensive endeavor with all the money put into flyers, online ads, pet communicators and other search efforts. Not to mention all the time spent away from work.

Any little bit of contribution is a great help to the cause and the family that has put so much time and money to bring their loved one home.

Hey friends, I just want to remind everyone that we’ve hung 450 flyers and 200 handbills out now.

We have hit vet clinics in the state.

We have contacted animal shelters (and do repeatedly on their open hours + a very good friend works at one of them).

We have been to church’s, groceries, and restaurants/bars/coffee shops. (Trust me, we have hit it by now - we had 15 people flyering and they’re out there, we have rain coming so we may need to halt and see what it does to the flyers we have up before pursuing further)

We have looked for cameras.

We have contacted the Sheriff and they’re helping (I think) but we have no idea what they will get yet.

If you have an animal communicator or tracker that thinks they can help please ask them in advance, I’ve been turned down by several now and while I’d rather they are honest with my money it’s still disheartening. I also have had to turn one animal communicator off as they were making me uncomfortable. I have one I really do like but she’s hit a bit of a wall and could use more if.

Right now the only things we can do and need are more shares (farther away, and outside of the dog world probably) and a potential news story.

The two jobs we’re still working on is mass mailings and a newspaper ad.

We’re getting a little overwhelmed with all the suggestions but we try to see all of them.

Thank you ❤️

**UPDATE - FOUND**

REWARD $2500+, NO QUESTIONS ASKED.

We desperately need to find her.

11/5 at 1215p this dog was taken out or jumped out of the owner's van in a parking lot while she moved something to another door. She am a dog trainer by profession and concerned this was not a training mistake.

She was put in a car by a stranger and while the owner looked for her the stranger went through the Burgerking drivethrough. After further investigation we learned she was white, elder with bifocal-glasses, and had a companion in the car who held Ruth. The car she drove was “messy” and dark, maybe purple. When complimented on the dog she told them she found the dog in the parking lot and intended to not turn it into a shelter but instead look on Facebook for the owner.

We’ve been canvassing the neighborhoods and farther for days now with many friends. We have posted 450 flyers and spoken to so many people I am running low on people in the area who haven’t heard about Ruth yet.

We're beginning to worry as the dog legally should have been reported as found by now.

The sheriff has been contacted and they are looking into the Burger King cameras to see if there is anything of use.

In addition to being a beloved pet she is a business asset and worth thousands of dollars to us.

She’s a border terrier mix and is just over 1 year old.

She was taken at 15225 SE McLoughlin Blvd
Portland, OR 97267
United States

Actions Taken So Far:
* All vets in the state of Oregon have been notified
* All shelters have been notified
* Flyers have been hung all over the city and in as many local shops and stores as possibles
* Fliers have been hung in local churches and schools
* She has been shared on every lost dog venue online we could find

We believe she is out there so we just need to find her.

Please help! ❤️

*UPDATE*

Went back to Burger King again and was able to speak to the employee. She agreed to speak to the police on the owner’s behalf if they will work with us and take a report.

We are looking for an elder woman, white, bifocal glasses, Ruth was being held by a companion in the passenger seat, they did NOT plan to take her to a shelter but would be trying to find her owner.

The car was messy and dark colored, maybe purple, and even if the take out window camera was reviewed (which was not something we were allowed previously by the manager) it may not have been picked up because it was a low car.

Now that there is a witness involved the sheriff is more willing to get involved and get us access to the drive through cameras at Burger King

We’re searching the neighborhood looking for a vehicle matching this description but the employee did say she’d never seen them before and is keeping an eye out for us.

Burger King has allowed us to hang signs all over, they seem to be trying to help.

I am LOST!! Help me find my way home!

My mom is a dog trainer and I am very important to her.

I go to work with her everyday, and am a very important part of helping dogs in our community become more confident and better behaved!

More importantly I am a well loved member of the family.

My harness failed and I got out of my booster seat and I slipped out of the van while my 8 months pregnant mom was loading something inside.

She called me and I was trying to come back, but I wasn't able to!

My mom saw a lady put me in their car and drive away.

I hope she will soon call my mom and take me home.

My posters are posted everywhere locally and in groups, please help me find my way back to my mom, my dad, and my doggy siblings.

I really want to meet my new baby human brother too!

I miss home and I'm scared.

Please share this far and wide, and comment below that way more people will see this post.

I'm a border terrier mix and just over 1 year old. I'm too small and young to be without my family!

I was taken at 15225 SE McLoughlin Blvd
Portland, OR 97267
United States

Please help me get home.

Call my mom at 503-931-1259 with any information.

And please share and comment on this post so more people can help me!

Flyers being posted on every street sign in the areas we have leads and farther to Vancouver by some friends.

Hitting vets and pet stores (called yesterday, flyering today).

Sheriff cannot file a report, she is not stolen, she was picked up “at large” and legally must be held for 30days in my area.

Animal controls have all been flyered and called and there are lost dog reports. I walked two yesterday and my friend is an ACO at the third and watching for me there.

News have all been contacted, one local paper shared her on their page and no others have bitten yet.

Local police contacts have been reached out to in hopes they keep looking.

Chip company was addressed.

Waiting on a call back from an animal communicator.

Continuously checking FB groups, NextDoor, and craigslist

Paying to boost her on every lost dog site I can find. If you have tried to find her on one and can’t see her please let me know, it means I didn’t pay enough to make her a priority for their site and need to change that.
