Huge thanks to Sierra Pacific Region Pony Club for putting on a great Camp! One of our members did the Horse Management track and learned how to show a horse on the triangle, how to evaluate a horse’s balance and basic conformation, discussed unsoundnesses, participated in a leg dissection to learn the bones, tendons, and ligaments, practiced teaching techniques, and discussed longeing equipment and techniques. It was a great prep for her upcoming upper level H-B certification! Despite the heat, we had fun connecting with old and making new Pony Club friends! 💙🐴📚

Festive Pony Club fun today! We had jingle bells on a spoon races down Elf Lane, stocking stuffing with candy canes, and racing Santa’s milk and cookies and reindeer’s carrots to his Christmas plates. And no competition is complete without a victory lap! 🎅🏻🎄🐎

We had a great day of learning at Sierra Pacific Region’s Horse Management Day at Woodland Stallion Station. Kids participated in a leg dissection to study lower limb anatomy, we learned about cross country jumps on a course walk, and visited stations on shoes and farrier tools, braiding, rider safety, bridles, yoga for riders, and more!

Great lessons today working on walk trot transitions, canter departures, simple changes, a little no stirrup work. Horses, riders, and weather were all awesome! Then we talked about horse parts, grooming tools, feet and shoeing, and 2022 goals while sitting in the sunshine.

Small group for Pony Club today meant everyone worked a little on the lunge line at maintaining proper balance without the reins, without stirrups, and even cantering over a jump without hands. We learned parts of the horse, thank you Dallas, and grooming tools, all while enjoying the sunshine and warm winter day! ❤️🐴 Thanks Cori!

Learned about teeth today with Equine Dentist Clint and his helper Charlie. Got to feel sharp teeth and hooks, and even see a tooth extraction! Great rides by all on this blustery day!
