This adoption was very special today as it wasn’t just an adoption, but this sweet boy went BACK to his family!

Augie (we called him Waylonn) came to us almost 2 weeks ago after being found as a stray here in Bourbon County. He made his big debut at PetSmart this weekend and his family found out we had him this whole time! Somehow this sweet boy went missing near Red River Gorge and ended up all the way in Paris — which is about 65 miles away from home. He was a sweet boy with us, but had never been as happy as he was when he was reunited with his family.

We aren’t sure how Augie ended up with us here, but we would like to remind the community how important it is to take pets you find to the shelter in that same county. If a pet’s family lives in one county and they are taken to another county shelter or organization, they may not find them. Now, Augie is microchipped and is headed right back where he’s supposed to be!

"I adopted my son at birth knowing he had a genetic disorder. He is now 6 and non verbal but uses sign for communication. We are fostering a beautiful deafie boxer girl (soon to be adopted!). She is amazing with my son. She is the most gentle, loving girl ever. The most BEAUTIFUL part of this adoption is my son and his dog can actually talk to each other! I highly encourage adoption of deaf dogs ... She is such a perfect addition to our family. We have been blessed with Ellie."

To everyone bitching about Texas Roadhouse allowing that dog who was deployed twice, to eat a steak in the restaurant on Veterans Day, I'd rather sit next to him than rowdy, bratty kids all day long. I can guarantee that dog is cleaner and more quiet. He isn’t up being allowed to run around like he (and his parents) were raised in a barn!

As we were waiting to eat in Hattiesburg tonight my baby saw this Army Soldier and as he was walking in she said thank you for your service and he didn’t hear her.
When he walked back out she was shy so I said sir I don’t think you heard her a minute ago but she said thank you for your service! He said thank you and he appreciated it so he walked to his vehicle and got in.
Then he got out of his vehicle and walked up to Macie and said can you hold on to something for me and he pointed to his right arm at the 🇺🇸 and told Macie to take it off and hang on to it! Y’all talking about chills and tears!
I try and teach my kids to when they see a man or woman in uniform to thank them!
