Emphasis on the pet photographer 🤪📸

🐾Playing with puppies and kitties all day sure is fun, but we do so much more than that. This is a career. We are small business owners with a passion for pets, and just like any other business, there are many ‘hats’ we wear.

🧢Some of them we don’t always enjoy, so we choose to delegate them, while other roles really connect with our personal mission and values. These are the ones we can dig into and grow as an individual. You do so much behind the scenes and we hope you know it does not go unnoticed.

Byrd gained her angel wings🪽 and crossed the rainbow bridge recently 🥹🌈 She was 14 years old and lived a full life. Although I didn’t know her for very long, she left a huge paw print on my heart ❤️ RIP sweet girl, you will be greatly missed by many…

Reunited with Cedar last week 💙🐾 We both got lucky getting to spend an hour together each day doing what he loves! There was walking in the rain involved (which he didn’t mind), bully stick chewing, neighborhood friend sightings, lots of ball playing, and pets given 🥰 As you can see, it’s rare that he doesn’t have a smile on his face! So much fun was had by us both. I walk other dogs in his neighborhood and always look forward to seeing him in his backyard on occasion 🙌 He is well known in his area with many friends - both human and fur. A message his owner sent me after booking services: “I’m so appreciative your care of him last year was great! I know he’ll be fine in your hands and I don’t have to worry.”

Do you work long hours or have plans over the weekend that take up most of your day? The last thing you should have to worry about is your fur baby at home. Consider hiring a pet care professional if you’re looking for someone reliable, dependable, communicative, knowledgeable, and who pays attention to the little details that matter 🐶🐾 Your pup’s safety is top priority, next to making sure they have a good time! I got to have a 60 minute adventure with Chai this past weekend and I think it’s safe to say it filled both of our cups 🥹 She ended our time together by snacking on some doggy ice cream which was the perfect sweet treat to a humid afternoon ☀️🍦Alex Jones

It’s my four year anniversary of starting a pet care business 🥳 Five years ago (🤯) I was working for Dog's Best Friend while living in Colorado when they encouraged me to spread my wings and start a pet care business of my own. Ever since I can remember I’ve had a desire to be an entrepreneur, but I never knew what that would end up looking like. With Ashley Gann’s encouragement, Mountain Valley Pet Care was born a year later 🥹 Which then turned into Bluff Valley Pet Care when I moved to Visit Winona a couple years later. 8 months went by and life had other plans for me that included a move to the cities. I connected with a girl on the Nextdoor app out of all places and it worked out effortlessly for her to take on my clientele as she chased her own dreams of leaving the corporate world - thus creating Waggin’ Tails Winona LLC 🐾 Fast forward to current times and I’m still so blessed to be here doing what I feel born to do 🙌 “40% of businesses fail within the first three years.” I’m so thankful to have beat that statistic - but it wouldn’t have been without the setting of boundaries, creating a desirable work/life balance, and the understanding and encouragement of friends/family ❤️ Thank you for being here and for putting your trust in me to care for your fur babies!!

Anzu is celebrating national dog day the best way she knows how… running into the creek immediately after playtime at the dog park this morning! I have truly never seen her so dang happy before 🥹 I’m sure it felt AMAZING cooling off in there. She looked like a chocolate glazed donut when she was done 💅😉🤪 A great way to start off the week for us both! (Video in the comments)

Dakota and Cooper: a series 🐶🐾

One thing about me is that I love senior dogs! Cooper is 13 years old, approaching 14 after the new year. He’s not as quick as he used to be, but is still a ray of sunshine ☀️💛 It made my heart smile seeing him lay on the doggy bed with his sister Dakota and give her kisses 🥹 His eyesight is worsening, being almost blind in one eye 🥲 But with the help of verbal cues, he is still able to experience life to the fullest! These days he loves nothing more than being in good company – whether that means going for a walk, relaxing in the backyard, or spending days at the lake with his human dad 🩵

Cooper and I had ourselves a Sunday FUN-day ☀️💛

He’s 10 years young and was recently diagnosed with cancer 🥲 but look at that sweet smile.. he’s still so full of joy for life! We went for a couple of walks around the neighborhood 🐕, sat in the backyard and soaked in some sunshine 🌞, and enjoyed each others company 🥰 He loved rolling around on the floor and looked like the cutest lil bunny doing so 🐰🥹 He was my shadow around the house wherever I went and would put his paw up to me whenever I would take a break from petting him 😆🩵 Luckily for the both of us, his parents have him on my schedule a few more times this year 🙌

Snowball and I had the best time together the past few days 🙌 It was her first time having someone watch her other than her humans, so I made sure to be overly communicative, and attentive to Snow’s routine. She is also deaf, but that doesn’t define her 🐶💕 As you can see, her smile takes up half of her face 🥹 Now that is one happy girl! Some of her favorite things include rolling around in the grass 🌿, playing with her red egg toy ❤️, looking out the front window 👀, sunbathing in the backyard ☀️, and being as close to you as she possibly can.. I think her love language is quality time 🫶🏻 I’m already looking forward to our next sleepover in a couple of months!

Had the honor of visiting Luna (brown) and Lucian (grey) earlier this month 😻 They aren’t that playful around unfamiliar people, but they sure were happy to see me when they realized I came to give them wet food and treats 😹 I talked with them for a bit and was also given permission to offer pets as well! Each cat visit I do looks different depending on their personality and preferences 😊 Of course whatever your cat is comfortable with is what we’ll end up doing. I’d highly recommend watching “Inside the Mind of a Cat” on Netflix if you haven’t yet 🐱📺

Have felt so lucky getting to spend time with Dakota this summer 🥹💕 Her smile says it all.. we are great friends! Whether she’s soaking in the sunshine in the backyard ☀️, completing a puzzle or lick mat for enrichment 🧩, snuggling next to me on the couch 🥰, watching doggy TV 🐶📺, or chewing on a bone 🦴, the amount of fun we have together is endless! ‘till next time sweet girl 🫶🏻

Leo appreciation post 💙

He unfortunately passed away from a stroke recently 😿 He would always greet me at the door with a loud meow, start purring when I brushed him, sit on my lap, rub his head against me, and put his paw on my shoulder when I’d stop giving physical affection 🥹 At 12 years old, he was full of life! RIP sweet boy.. you will be deeply missed! 😢

He’s a 2 year old Lakeland Terrier who LOVES cheese 🧀, playing tug of war, and drinking from the stream in his backyard oasis 🌿 (video in the comments). His parents reached out looking for occasional visits when they’re away from home for a long period of time. I’m already looking forward to the next time we get to see each other 🫶🏻

Charlie (orange) is 10 years young and a lover of all head scratches 🧡 I was told that he’s a bit of a scaredy cat and often hides, but that is not the side of him I saw 😊

Holly (calico) is 1 1/2 years old and your average kitty who craves attention and affection, which she got plenty of during our time together 🖤

Some highlights of Winnie and Roo’s staycation earlier this week 🫶🏻

Met some new golden retriever friends (Korra and Kodah) and walked around a lake (Winnie was SO tempted to dive right in 😆), Went for a walk with Miranda Steinmetz and smelled all the flowers 🌸, Daily puzzles for enrichment 🧩, Rolling around in the grass 🍃, Sibling wrestling matches 🥰, Fetch and keep away 🎾, Sniffaries around the neighborhood 🐽, Obstacle course rounds 🐶, and so much more! It’s always so fun seeing their different personalities shine 📸 The fun never ends with these 2 🙌

Had the pleasure of spending some quality time with Maz (Mazzy) this past weekend 💙 His favorite thing ever is when he receives hip rubs, so I made sure to give plenty! He also enjoyed walks around the neighborhood in the early mornings and late evenings when it was cooler out 🐕🍃 We also spent some time in the backyard observing the sounds and sites of nature 🐦🐿️🌿 I once read a phrase that said “getting a dog may slow you down, but that’s the point.” I always enjoy our time together. ‘till next time! 🥰

Today is a very special day.. it’s Ava’s 7th birthday 🥳 Also referred to as baby girl, sleeping beauty, and mama.. I picked her up from Coulee Region Humane Society back in 2017 when she was just 8 weeks 🥹 Time has truly flown by! She’s the first cat I’ve owned that’s truly been mine. She’s been by my side through many life changes and always keeps me laughing with her quirky personality 😻 I’m also so grateful that she tolerates her younger brother Archie who I welcomed to the family after three years of having her. He’s quite needy and she likes her personal space 😹 Here’s to hopefully another 7 years together🤞

TESLA IS CAPTURED, EXHAUSTED BUT SAFE.

Tesla was lost on Friday, June 21 at the Speedway on Grand Ave & Cleveland in St Paul. There has been some sightings in this area but we still don't know her traveling route. If you reside nearby please share with your neighbors to check deep window wells and put out a bowl of water for her. Please don't try to catch her. She is a skittish and stand off dog plus she is in an unfamiliar area. Don't try to chase her, she's fast and could run into the streets.
Please just take a picture and call the number on the flier.
