Have a happy and safe Independence Day! 🎆

For those who have four legged family members that struggle with the big booms filling the sky tonight (and this weekend), here’s some of our best pointers to keep them safe.

1) Make sure they are secure: If you’re going out for a potty break and don’t know how they’ll respond, use a leash for safety and make sure they cannot slip out of their collar if panicked. If we’re going out to enjoy the fireworks and leaving them home, double check to make sure windows are closed and your best friend is in a safe spot where they can’t get hurt.

2) Remember how you respond tells our pups a lot about how to feel when they hear that noise. So be sure to relax and show them how to be safe.

3) If you’re staying home together, do something fun and make your own tradition! Gaia and I love a good hike in the morning, followed by movie night (keeps mom distracted) and baking dog cookies (keeps Gaia distracted with her nose).
