Dr. Leverance grew up in Oshkosh, Wisconsin with her parents and three younger sisters. She attended the University of Wisconsin River Falls for her degree in Animal Science with a minor in Spanish and Chemistry. She then went on to pursue her doctorate of veterinary medicine at the University of Minnesota graduating in 2024. Dr. Leverance worked at Blue Cross Animal Hospital as a veterinary student and enjoyed the clinic so much she joined the team as a veterinarian after graduation.
