Meet all of the available Dobermans!
Bugsy- Over the past month, Bugsy has been housebroken, learned to do stairs, has learned basic commands like sit, lay down, come, kennel up, stay, wait, off, leave it, and gentle. He loves being with his people and learning about the world. He is one smart cookie and only wants to please. Someone at the door may deserve a bark, but he loves making a new friend. He will need a forever family that is patient, gentle yet firm, sets routines and boundaries, lots of playtime, and can provide him a supervised safe environment as he continues to learn the joy that is being a dog.
Aramis, a 3-year-old blue male, from a heartbreaking case to a testament of hope. We provided a foster home, and he's slowly unraveling the layers of trust, loyalty, and affection. Aramis is bonding beautifully with the resident dog, but may require patience with some males. With patience, love, and training, we're convinced he'll continue to flourish. This brilliant, loving boy is house-trained, crate-trained, and mastering leash walking. No experience with the kitties or children. Aramis doesn't always have an OFF switch so he would be an ideal companion for an active household with ample space to run.
Zara, an 8-month-old spayed female, is a happy and energetic little girl who gets along well with other dogs and people. She is housebroken, crate trained, and enjoys meeting new friends. Although she can get vocal when excited, she is still a puppy and will learn to communicate more subtly. Due to her eagerness, she may not be suitable for households with small toddlers, as she may unintentionally knock them over. Zara is currently learning basic obedience and is eager to please. Zara will make the addition to any family a wonderful one.
Justice is a 3 year old sweet, friendly and all heart gorgeous young lad. He is very much a classic Velcro boy. He likes to always be in the same space as his foster. He is crate trained and will go into the kennel when asked. Justice is scheduled to be neutered soon and is also under treatment for lymes as well. He loves treats and takes them very carefully out of your hand. He knows
sit, wait, shake and down. We are working on leash skills as he does tend to pull when he's excited. There are two kitties in the foster home and Justice is good with them, if the kitty doesn't encourage chase. If the kitty is dog savvy and will hold their ground and stay while he investigates all is good. He loves to play and plays with the other foster to get his younger energy out. He has not barked when there is someone at the door, however he will be sure to let you know there is a squirrel outside. He will stop barking when he is told no more. He is great at meeting strangers and needs to be reminded to stay down as he will hop up in excitement. He will chew on bones and stuffies, however he is not a huge shredder of the stuffies either. He will signal when he wants to go outside, would like attention by the classic Dobe โwhine/talkโ.
Sully is Thriving in social interactions with dogs and cats alike. He's eager to play, delightful with children, and rapidly mastering leash walking and crate training, showcasing his adaptability and love for engaging toys and playtime.
Raine, 3 year old spayed female is a spunky, smart, sweet, shy, petite girl that is going to definitely be someone's best friend! She is very smart and knows lots of tricks, has to be with her human always. She carries around her stuffies called her "babies" all of the time! They are a comfort to her. She is so smart that she learned our routine in just 2 days! She also took to the kennel really fast. She does need something to occupy her time, so we give her a treat ball and hard bone with some peanut butter. She does require the use of a plastic kennel and no wire kennel. This girl needs very slow intros to people as well as other dogs. No small dogs or kids. We are still working on her getting along with other dogs and some treat aggression. She would be a great ONLY dog. She likes to think that she is first, she was the only dog in her previous home. This girl needs someone with lots of Doberman experience, patience and time to let her get comfortable and earn her trust. She is very shy and it may take more then one visit to get to know her and to see if she is a good fit.
Delilah is doing well! Not only is she soooo beautiful, she can be such a sweetie pie! She is Velcro to her foster mom much of the day and loves to cuddle. She is soooo smart, she has mastered sit, go sit by the door (her potty cue), she knows "wait" , "come" & "stay" and shake! She definitely loves chew toys, so lots of of tuff chew toys are good to have on hand. Delilah is better with older(12+), slower more calmer kids. She would not be good in a home that is busy, loud, and has small children. Delilah was not socialized well and can still be nervous in new situations and around new people or animals, so we have to be cautious about introductions, but it seems she is attentive to foster mom for cues on if the situation is ok/safe and she seems to be able to be calmed/distracted before she gets too agitated. Delilah needs a home that will be patient and understanding with her and will earn her trust through calmness, dependability and most importantly lots of love!!! Having a home with a physical fence will be required especially if neighbors are near for this will just make her world more peaceful and a better environment for her to feel safe in her own yard.
Major, a newer addition to the DRM family - a ridiculously handsome 1-year-old fawn boy with a personality that's equal parts sass and fun. As a large, energetic breed, he needs a family that can keep up with his antics and provide endless opportunities for exercise, mental stimulation, and snacks - lots and lots of snacks. He will need to be fueled with a high quality and nutrient dense diet to keep his weight and skin & coat healthy and in check.
Oh, and did we mention he has a bit of separation anxiety? But don't worry, we're working on it, and with the right foster family, he'll learn to chill in no time. Major loves people, but he's not exactly kid-delicate - he's a bit too bouncy for little ones. He gets along with other dogs, cats, goats, and horses, but he can be a bit too eager to play, so he needs a family that can teach him some boundaries. He's housebroken, crate-trained, and loves puzzles - but don't leave him in his crate for too long, or he might get a little impatient and start pawing at the door.
Major has some basic training under his belt, and he's super food-motivated, so training him is a breeze. He's not a fan of being left alone in the car, but he won't destroy anything - he just gets a little anxious.
Cosmo, a vibrant one-year-old bursting with energy and affection. He thrives alongside other dogs and is great with kids, requiring only gentle supervision around little ones due to his enthusiastic nature. No experience with the kitties. Cosmo is leash, crate, and house trained - the perfect candidate for a family seeking a loyal companion. He's eager for someone to call him their own.
