Doberman Rescue Minnesota DRM is an all volunteer, nonprofit 501C, charitable organization founded in 1999. We are dedicated to all homeless Dobermans and finding the best possible home for all Dobermans that come into our adoption program. The decisions and recommendations regarding surrendering or adopting a Doberman are based primarily on what is in the best interest of the dog and are guided b

y many years of experience with this special breed. We care as much about the quality of life for all Dobermans in our program as we do our own dogs. Every Doberman that comes into our program is considered a "lucky Doberman" as they do find a loving forever home. DRM is dedicated to each and every dog that comes through our program for the dogs entire life, no matter what, per our adoption contract. Dobermans in our foster program live in private homes with foster families who evaluate the Doberman for temperament and behavior traits, give them structure and play and interact with them. so we can make recommendations on the best type of home for our dogs. To adopt, we do have specific adoption requirements for adopters, and do require a home visit by one of our dedicated volunteers prior to adoption to ensure all our dogs are going to safe forever homes. To surrender a Doberman please contact us through Facebook, email us at [email protected] or phone at 651-256-2294. If you need to surrender your Doberman, for your pets safety and well being, please do not place your beloved pet on Facebook or Craigslist but contact us directly as we are dedicated to every Doberman that is in need of help. Doberman Rescue Minnesota is committed to teaching about responsible pet ownership and the Doberman breed. We do know this breed is not for everyone, Dobermans can have super high energy release requirements, extraordinary intelligence that needs stimulation and are demanding dogs, in your face, that require a strong leader, willing to work and socialize them every day to be the magnificent. Our organization networks with other rescues and shelters across the US and is willing to help where ever needed. We will always assist other organizations when possible.

UPDATE *** Harley has a Pending Adoption!! Thank you everyone! 💜

This is Harley. She is a red/rust spayed 4 year old. Harley is about as close to perfect as they come, just ask her foster family, LOL!

Harley interacts wonderfully with people, children, and other dogs. In her foster home, she has been around an older small breed, a puppy, and another Doberman, and she plays very well with all of them, being especially gentle with the puppy. She seems aware of her size and is mindful in her interactions. Her favorite thing is snuggling with her people, and she is extremely calm, easy to care for, and walks great on a leash. She has been excellent with kids of all ages, allowing them to lay on her with no issues. Although she may bark at people walking by, she is not a compulsive barker. Overall, she is a love bug.

A typical day for her is low maintenance and relaxed. She enjoys lounging around, looking out the window, and spending short periods outside but prefers being indoors. She loves walks and car rides, and enjoys playing with the resident dogs and kids or chewing on her toys and bones. She doesn't chew on things
she shouldn't or steal food. She's gentle when taking treats and knows basic commands, including shake. She also enjoys training sessions and is an overall easy-going, well-behaved dog.

She has been introduced to cats and would likely do well with a dog-savvy cat.

She eats well, does not hoard or eat quickly. She is fully potty trained and will go to the
door and wait to be let out when she needs to go to the bathroom. No special diet.

She is crate trained and goes in easily, remaining quiet while inside. She will even go to her crate voluntarily when it's open. She has been fine when left out unattended, although her fosters haven't left
her out for extended periods when they aren't home. She has slept both in her kennel at night and in bed with foster. She doesn't chew great in both situations not getting up through the night.

She loves car rides. When stopped waiting for kids to get done with practice we did notice she
will bark at people on scooters or bikes but we are working to correct this. She's doing well with it.

She does great walking on a leash. Knows basic command including heal, stay, sit and down. She also can shake. She is an eager learner.

Harley is a smiler! Whenever you say her name, she flashes the biggest grin, showing her teefers in a happy, playful way. When her fosters first met her, they didn't realize she was smiling, but we soon figured
out that it was her way of showing how happy she is. In fact, her adorable smile has gone viral on TikTok with 30,000 views!

New to Doberman Rescue Minnesota. This is our 6 year old boy Jagger. Recently neutered and is healing up nicely. Jagger is settling into his foster's home splendidly. He is a really sweet, gentle, loving and easy boy. He is wonderful with the other resident foster dog and they are great together and he plays a few times during the day with her and then he gives her the space she desires and all is good. He is great with car rides and just gets in and lays down. Jagger is very polite and quiet when someone comes to the door and greets guests like a good boy. He knows some basic commands and is learning new commands frequently. Walks well on leash but gets pretty excited when he knows he is almost home and the walk is almost done and he can go inside, LOL! He is good around kitties and knows to leave them when instructed. If the cat is good and dog savvy and doesn't create chase, he should be great. Completely housed trained and crate trained. May have had exposure to some children before, he seems great when he meets all people, so he may be good, but foster does not have children in home. Jagger is all about being with his human and wants nothing more than to be your friend and shadow. His funny little side is that he knows when it's bed time and he will jump in bed and will nuzzle his nose in and under the covers and will crawl under and turn around all covered up and then will lay his head on pillow with you. He is so funny and adorable and he just is such a sweet and goofy boy! This fabulous foster is a Doberman Rescue Minnesota foster dog. Please read all adoption steps and policies carefully on our website. http://dobermanrescueminnesota.com/adoption-steps/ Qualified adopters are within the approved adoption area, and Adopter will be requested to visit this foster dog at the foster family home. Our foster families are generally located within a 250 mile radius of Minneapolis, MN. All DRM dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, health checked, microchipped, 4DX tested, and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Say hello to our handsome buddy Ares! He is a 3 year old, neutered boy. He came to us a couple months ago as a unworked dobie. His foster has been working with the core basics of training with him and is doing amazing. He is extremely smart and eager to learn, which makes training pretty smooth. He has been taught leash skills and is keeping his overactive curious mind focused on his person. He came to us as a puller and using a training collar is very effective and recommended. Ares does well with all of the resident dogs(male and female). Ares doesn't have a lot of experience with children and gets very jumpy and bouncy when he is meeting new people, so we are suggesting that older, bigger kids would be best for him. No exposures to kitties. Foster has cattle on the property and Ares just watches but does not chase. He crates up nicely and does well. On car rides he gets a little whiny at first but then settles down after a bit.
