Meet Oliver – Your New Best Friend! Say hello to Oliver, a stunning 2-year-old Doberman with a heart as big as his paws and a personality that’s truly one-of-a-kind. Oliver is hands down the friendliest Doberman we’ve ever met – he loves absolutely everyone he crosses paths with and greets each person with a wagging tail and plenty of kisses. This big goofball is a gentle giant, amazing with kids and dogs of all sizes. He’s playful, affectionate, and always down for a snuggle session – especially if it means he gets to curl up nose-to-nose with you in bed. He’s a total shadow pup, happiest when he’s by your side, and yes, he will lovingly steal most of your pillow! Oliver is a superstar in the house – no accidents ever. While the kennel isn't his favorite, he does perfectly fine in one, and he's just as trustworthy when left outside of it. He's full of energy, love, and pure joy, but also knows when it’s time to settle down for a cuddle. He walks great on a leash, has a healthy love for chewing (but only his toys!), and will melt your heart with his bright, soulful eyes. There’s not a single aggressive bone in his body – you can take toys or bones from him, and he’s more than happy to share his space and love. If you’re looking for a dog who will bring laughter, snuggles, and unconditional love into your life, Oliver is your guy. He would do amazing in agility training! He will scale the gates in the house like they are not there. He’s not just a dog – he’s a best friend, a cuddle buddy, and the happiest part of any day. Zeus 4yo) is a loving and gentle giant, ready to find his forever home! This sweet Doberman is friendly, loves to snuggle, and enjoys affection. Playful with toys like balls, Kongs, and squeaky plush toys, he's also content just lounging around. He has a quirky habit of sucking on blankets when bored, but it's short-lived and harmless. Currently living with a 14-year-old cat, he's respectful and leaves him alone most of the time. He may get excited and stalk the cat but means no harm and stops with a firm correction. If there's a young cat in the home, additional training would be recommended. With a calm demeanor, he enjoys a relaxed routine, including two short walks and 10-15 minutes of play each day. He tires out easily, loves frozen Kongs with treats, and is easygoing. He walks well on a leash and enjoys playing in a fenced yard. While crate trained, he prefers to sleep in the same room as his people. Not destructive when left alone, he knows several commands such at sit, shake, 'boof' or woof, lay down and is working on improving his other commands. Meet Cosmo – Your New Best Friend! Cosmo is a happy, spunky pup just over a year old, bursting with personality and charm! Since joining his foster family, he’s grown into a playful, curious, and adaptable companion who’s always ready for fun and cuddles. He currently lives with two other dogs—one a playful pup, the other a mellow senior—plus two cats! Although cats were new to him at first, Cosmo has quickly learned how to respect their space and is picking up boundaries like a pro. Cosmo loves playing with both his furry housemates and his humans, and he’s a gentle sweetheart with guests. He’s already mastered basic commands like sit, stay, down, come, and more. He's also crate-trained, happily settles in when left alone, and enjoys a cozy bed and a Kong to keep him entertained. Walks are one of his favorite things—he’s mostly gentle on the leash, though he might pull a bit when excited. Cosmo would thrive in an active home, especially one with younger pets and a yard to run in. While he’s still building his confidence and may bark when unsure about a new dog, don’t let that fool you—he’s a true gentle giant at heart. New to Doberman Rescue Minnesota. Not available for adoption until all vetting is completed. Mabel(1yr old)likes bones, cuddling, eating, playing with her dog friends, digging, car rides. Mabel is not a fan of being alone and the vacuum. Her favorite food is everything. A fun fact about Mabel is that she is good with cats and likes to groom them with gentle nibbles. Mabel also really likes people and is happy when we have visitors over. Mabel is super cuddly and gentle. She loves to be where the action is and will follow you around like a shadow. She has a medium energy level, meaning she isn’t hyper but will play with you and other dogs. Mabel's hobbies are chewing bones, wrestling with the resident dog, playing tug of war, sitting under our toddler’s high chair waiting for him to drop snacks. Bugsy is ready for his first MN spring and is looking for his forever home. Since his last check-in, Bugsy has grown in his playfulness, curiosity and willingness to please. After a day of exploring and patrolling the yard for new smells, he loves to chew on a favorite bone or curl up near your feet for a nap. His foster family often finds him sitting contently outside listening to the birds, kids playing and watching the life of the neighborhood. Bugsy is curious, observant, submissive, and playful with other dogs, and would benefit from learning the rules and joys of being a confident dog from a canine sibling. Bugsy is reserved and somewhat cautious with new people and has some trauma response but is learning to trust the humans who provide him loving care (and a tasty treat doesn’t hurt). He is respectful of his feline foster sister and demonstrates his love for her with face licks. Bugsy is a very food motivated young Doberman who has become quite an adventurous fruit and veggie connoisseur (including a daily ripe banana). He never fails to tell his foster family when five minutes has passed beyond his dinnertime. He would never humiliate himself by counter surfing and you won’t find him sneaking up on the couch. Bugsy enjoys car rides and settles on his own when reminded. Bugsy would benefit from a routine household where he can anticipate meal-time, play-time, wind-down time, and potty-time. He is eager to learn new commands and make his people happy. He is crate trained and knows, sit, wait, leave it, drop it, lay down, and is learning to heel and walk on a leash like a young respectable dog with a gentle leader. His favorite items are his Kong, tennis balls, squeaky toys, bones, and learned if he treats his stuffed gently, they will last a long time! On Sunday DRM had a transport that was quite the undertaking to say the least for a very special boy named Zeus. Zeus was in a shelter in MO as an owner surrender due to an injury to his rear leg that the family could not afford. Many people and the community reached out to us and made his situation (that was dire )to help him and get him into a rescue where he was safe. We reached out to lock in a foster and found one almost immediately and so we started the process. DRM has the most dedicated, experienced and outstanding volunteers there is(just needed to boast for a sec 😉) A transport of the magnitude is difficult at best and when you are dealing with numerous drivers , schedules and availability it is a tricky task. We would like to break these long transports up over a couple days if able but this weekend was proving to be needing otherwise. All of our volunteers worked together, making accommodations to their prior engagements and schedules to do everything they could to make this transport happen and to get Zeus to safety and in our care all in one day. Our transporters put on the road an impressive 830 miles from MO to ND!
The drivers were 💯 that day, communicating constantly, staying on task and being so efficient, so well that the original transport time was an estimated 15.5 hour trip and everything went off without a hitch to where they were able to shave off an hour, getting everyone home sooner. It makes your heart full knowing you were part of another animal’s story and saved them and were able to give them a different path in life, a second chance and part of their beautiful journey.

New to Doberman Rescue Minnesota. Anna (Anna Banana as she is often called) is a big personality in a small package. She is approximately 2 years old and was found as a stray. She’s skittish in nature, but that doesn't prevent her from being the sweet and loving girl she is. Anna loves to play fetch, go on walks, run and play with her foster brother and sisters and snuggle up with her foster momma while she reads a good book. Since Anna lacks confidence, she will need a home that will be willing to help her build her confidence through consistent positive reinforcement training and games. She knows sit, spin, turn wait, leave it, take it and has a solid recall. We are working on heel, down, front, shake and stay. She is consistently offering newly learned behaviors for things she enjoys like fetch, walks and food. She would excel at scent work or obedience. She is good with small animals (Guinea Pig, Rats, Mice, Bearded Dragon, Leopard Gecko tested) loves children and adults once she warms up to them and she is uncertain around strangers. We are unsure of her reaction to cats only because her foster home doesn’t share their home with any. She has a high prey drive. She chases squirrels and birds both in the yard and on walks. She will require a slip or martingale collar on walks as she can Houdini out of regular collars. Unfortunately, Anna did not experience enough socialization as a puppy, so she will require consistent help learning not to be afraid of things and a family that is willing to build trust with her to help her anxiety. It takes her a long time to recover, but she does well. She needs a home where both kids and adults respect her space and boundaries to help her build trust and confidence. She’s a very good girl that needs a safe space to recover when anxious (we currently use her kennel). Anna loves her kennel and is both crate trained and potty trained. She is the cutest trash Panda and enjoys bringing you her treasures to share. Anna likes having a job to do, but will go relax by herself too. Due to her skittish nature, she will require a yard with a 6 foot privacy fence. She can jump shorter gates and fences. Anna is a silly sweetheart and an absolute joy. She zoomies with gusto and leaps into the air like a black seal to catch her tennis ball. She gives the sweetest hugs and softest kisses. Anna is a massive foodie! She lives to greet you in the morning with her adorable Doberman smile and happy tail wags. Anna has ongoing allergies that manifest in chronic ear and skin infections. The care is simple and her condition is easily managed, but anyone interested in making her family would have to be willing to clean her ears frequently. She is currently being treated for extensive otitis media, and will remain in foster care until her medical needs are treated and she is spayed. Please consider adopting this precious girl!
