Congratulations are in order 🥳 Janel (now Nellie) has found her forever home with her foster family!

Foster failing is one of the best ways to find your new furry family member. It saves a life, gives you a chance to see how the dog or cat will fit in with your life, and comes with tons of support from our foster support and adoption support teams! What a win-win 😄

Nellie's mama explained the amazing feeling of deciding to adopt your foster...

For 5 long months, Gillis has been patiently waiting for his forever home.

That’s 150+ days with little to no interest. And honestly, we just can’t figure out why. 🥲

This handsome, one-year-old Doberman mix is everything you could ask for in a dog. He’s incredibly smart, athletic, playful, and snuggly. Gillis is fully potty-trained, crate-trained, and gets along well with other dogs and even cats. He’s already mastered several commands and has so much potential to keep learning.

If you’re an active family or individual looking for a four-legged partner to join you on all of life’s adventures, Gillis is your guy. Whether it’s hiking trails, going for a run, or curling up at the end of the day for snuggles, Gillis is ready for it all.

Why does The BB say yes to animals like him?

We pride ourselves on saying yes to animals that others cannot- Our specialty rescue programs were made for the animals who are overlooked, overly complicated, and overly expensive. We're the suckers of the animal rescue community for a reason 😅 We LOVE to say YES!

T-Bone is no exception. This handsome, happy 11 year old chocolate lab was just welcomed to our hospice program. We rescued him from a shelter in Arkansas thinking he was just a senior dog who needed a soft place to land, but when he arrived we noticed his story might be a bit more complicated than that.

After a visit at , it was found that he has mast cell tumors. Discussion about his diagnosis with our expert veterinary team and amazing hospice foster support specialist led to transferring him into our hospice program. He will more than likely never be adoptable, but he will live out whatever days he has left surrounded by the love of his foster family ❤

Photos truly can't do this justice...

A few months ago, we found out that a portion of the funding for our pet food shelf was going to be reduced. At the same time, our pet food shelf has been serving RECORD numbers of people and pets. Just in the last year alone, we have distributed over 500,000 pounds 🤯 of food to clients in Minneapolis! The need is at an all time high- and we needed more food to meet that.

Fast forward to this week. After Blue Buffalo heard about how many people in our community are depending on the pet food shelf, they offered to step up in a big way. TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND POUNDS of pet food and treats were delivered to our pet food shelf just a few days ago. Our warehouse shelves went from empty to stocked thanks to BLUE!

These photos can't explain the sense of relief we get when these shelves are stocked. When we can confidently open our pet food shelf doors this week and know that we will be supporting the bonds people share with their pets.

We want to introduce you to a special girl... everyone, meet Styx! She is a 1.5 year old Pyrenees mix that is patiently waiting at our office for her foster or forever home. Her past foster had this to say about this beautiful pup:

"Styx is a very sweet girl who wants nothing more than to be your best friend! She enjoys following us closely around the house, chewing on her stuffs and playing tug of war, and snuggling in bed or on the couch.

She is getting used to being a part of a real family and will need someone who is available to give her regular exercise and consistent training. She is a big dog, with a big bark, and does not enjoy being kenneled or left alone. She's fantastic with our older kids! She is curious and playful towards our dog savvy cats and larger sized resident dog. She would do best in a household that is active and experienced with big dogs."

“We adopted our foster cat Luna (fka Bitcoin) yesterday. ☺️ I've had dogs my entire life, but she's my first cat. She's a shy girl, but has come out of her shell a lot over this last week.

Our pet loss support group, The Bridge Between, is held twice a month to connect with others around the loss of your beloved pet. We offer a safe, compassionate environment for those who want to share about their pet with others who have gone through similar experiences. This is the only IN PERSON pet loss group in MN- and we're honored to host it in honor of Seth Friedell.

Our first adoption event of 2025 is TOMORROW from 1:00- 3:00pm at our Minnetonka location (📍 5959 Baker Road)! There will be 22 dogs and cats that are hoping to find their forever families... and most will be able to go home with you tomorrow!

To the most amazing followers on planet earth...

THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts! Last month, we put out a call for kitten and puppy supplies. We're rescuing as many animals as we can out of shelters- and man, oh man, do they need a lot of supplies. We had run out of kitten food and were low on many other things.

You all answered our call and helped us get through the holidays with enough supplies for all of our littlest bb's 🥲 We received...

964 cans kitten food!
150 packs treats and pill pockets!
85 toys!
455 slip leads!
436 rolls p**p bags!
30 cans liquid milk replacement for puppies!
20 cans powdered milk replacement for puppies!
30 cans kitten milk replacement!

We are so grateful for this community for always saying YES to helping animals and people. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

“Apollo meets his possible forever family tomorrow!”

These words mean so much to us. They mean hope, anxiety, love, and sadness all wrapped up together.

Hope for our foster pets that they will find their perfect place in this world. A home that will love them unconditionally like they deserve ✨

Anxiety for how the meet and greet will go… Will the potential adopters like him? How can we best answer their questions? What is the best way to show off our foster pet’s personality? 🥺

Love for this tiny (or not so tiny!) animal that we have been caring for all this time. Love that shows that the bond we share with animals really is sacred, special, beautiful ❤️

Sadness because we know our time with our foster pet is limited. The whole point is to let them go, but that always comes with heartwarming tears 🥹

Fostering is so many emotions all tangled up in a beautiful, life saving mission… find them a home outside of a shelter. Together, we have the absolute honor of making that happen each and every day!

Spoiler alert: They loved Apollo and he is mowing living happily with his forever home 😊
