Spring is kinda in the air — and you know what that means… it's dog-walking season! 🙌 But if the idea of leash time sends a little shiver down your spine (because your pup turns into a wild beast the second you step outside), you're not alone.

Let’s change that.

Join us for Pack Walks at Lion's Park in Minooka — every Wednesday at 5:30 PM and two Saturdays a month at 8:45 AM — where we focus on calm behavior and loose leash walking in real-life settings.

We are having an Open House!! We are getting very close to capacity on dogs here at Animal Control. Unfortunately, we cannot house large numbers of dogs like shelters can due to the size of our facility. SO, we are doing everything we can to get these dogs a permanent home.

Our open house will be on April 25th from 10:30-3:30. The 7 dogs that you see below are the dogs that we will be showing. We encourage you to come out and meet them even if you are not looking to adopt. Take pictures of/with the dogs and post them for us! Tell your friends and family about the AMAZING dogs you met! Anything to help spread the word could change these babies lives. 🐕🐩❤️

Meet McDouble, a four month old Golden Retriever/Shepherd mix up for adoption! He's a spunky dude that enjoys playing with his canine pals during playgroup or hanging out in the rooms with volunteers. He has a plush coat with goofy ears that do what they want. He loves treats and is eager to learn as he tries to sit and paw at you for snacks, begging for seconds. Sometimes he doesn't know his size (currently weighs about thirty five pounds) and will try to jump on you or flop by your side if you sit with him. He has quite the comical personality and can't wait to start making memories. His adoption fee is $235, which includes his vaccines, f***l exam, deworming, current flea prevention, registered microchip, and neuter.

Meet Neytiri, a five month old Shepherd/Husky mix available for adoption. Unfortunately, her owner was moving and could not bring her with. Neytiri is your typical bouncy (and mouthy) young Shepherd pup. She loves to zoom around in the fields, chasing anything and everything. She loves to play with toys and loves to work on her training. She thrives on leadership and will need a strong handler that will show her the ropes. Neytiri is smart as can be and will flourish in a home that can mentally and physically stimulate her. Neytiri does great with dogs but we are looking for a home with no small dogs or cats, as she thinks they are toys. Her adoption fee is $220, which includes her vaccines, f***l exam, deworming, current flea prevention, registered microchip, and spay.
