Insulin Injection (Snowcrash)
Happy Valentine’s Day from the Diabetic Cats in Need team!!
Jack Abraham Resnick and DCIN would like you to take a look at 28 hours (one an hour) of adoptable diabetic cats all over the country. All of them can always be seen in our photo gallery.
Every one of us has experienced the sadness of losing a furkid, and the special needs furries somehow grab your heart and a deeper bond is created when caring for them, even if it is a struggle at times. When the time is right and your heart is ready for a new friend, please consider adopting another diabetic cat and using your feline diabetes knowledge to help another diabetic cat out of a shelter, or from being brought to a shelter by individuals no longer able to keep their diabetics.
Besides....chocolates are gone in a day and go straight to your hips...A sugarcat is with you for life and goes straight to your heart!! <3
Thanks for being a DCIN fan and helping Jack Abraham Resnick and DCIN spread the word!

Bunker is waiting for you!!!
Bunker is a very special boy you will want to meet! Bunker lives at Friends of Attleboro Animal Shelter in Attleboro MA. He loves to head butt and rub against you and get you to scratch his head. Cuddling and relaxing with you is definitely his “thing”! All of this makes Bunker a very special cat. Bunker is also FIV+ and diabetic. FIV+ cats can live normal life expectancies just like any other cat! He is currently well managed with diet and insulin.
Bunker has been waiting over 2 years!! for his forever person or family to come adopt him! You know he is yours right?? Isn’t he a dreamboat? If you are interested in learning more about Bunker or want to adopt him, please contact the shelter at [email protected]

Sweet Smittie is still struggling, but she's home. Her mama had to rush her back to the ER last night due to low blood sugars. She rallied well and is back home with a feeding tube. She is able to walk but stumbles a bit. This video shows her re-learning how to walk at the ER.
We still have less than half of what we need to effectively help Smittie and her mama. Can you help us help them, please? https://www.youcaring.com/smittie-825122 is where you can read Smittie's story and help us out. Thanks for caring! ~Amy
Misty takes a bath!
Extra-sweet, blind Misty is still healing well! The stitches come out soon! Here, you can watch her give herself a long, luxurious bath - a sign that she is content and feels well. <3 She's one of the kitties we've helped recently, and we're thankful that we got her fundraiser mostly filled. She would love it if our generous fans could help out her extra-sweet friends, too, since we've spent an awful lot on them lately! https://www.youcaring.com/dcin-774915 is where you go to help keep the purrs like Misty's going at DCIN! Thanks for caring! ~Amy
Misty is super-ready to be done with this cone nonsense! But she's healing well, and we are so grateful for all the support that allowed us to get her much-needed eye surgery and cover some of her pre- and post-surgical bills. If you'd like to help us finish out her fundraiser, head here: https://www.youcaring.com/misty-765128. Thanks for caring! ~Amy
Here is sweet Misty post-surgery, back with her temporary foster mom! The video may be hard to watch for some people, but we wanted you to see that she's alert and purring even just one day post-op! (Turn up your volume to hear her sweet purr.)
We still have quite a way to go with her fundraiser to cover all her bills, so if you'd like to help support this precious gal and her recovery, go to https://www.youcaring.com/misty-765128 to do it!
Likes, shares, and comments, as always, are welcome! Thanks for caring! This sweet girl would still be in tons of pain without your help. ~Amy
And here's an adorable video of Miss Shinny in her new home! ~Amy
Sam in FL
Here's a short video of sweet Sam, who is in DKA (see our Wall for his YouCaring) being visited by his people - he's doing his best to keep his spirits up by purring for them! And what an adorable purr he has! ~Amy
Fly free, dear Sillci. Please send Angelwings to Sillci and sympathies to her adoptive Mom by adding a comment or clicking LIKE. Sillci left for the vastness last week.
Sillci was one of DCIN's early placements, finding her new home in January 2010. Her backstory is on DCIN's blog page at http://fdmb-cin.blogspot.com/2010/01/sillci-in-spring-green-wi.html. SIllci came to her new Mom morbidly obese (18 lbs on a 6 lb frame); she was a bowling ball on sticks. The video here shows how Sillci could not walk more than a few steps before collapsing from her weight and the pain it put on her joints. It turned out that Sillci was not diabetic, but rather overfed by her original family.
Sillci's adoptive Mom worked diligently but slowly on her weight loss and within six months Sillci could jump up onto an ottoman and the couch and went for walks in the fenced-in yard.
Many many thanks to Sillci's adoptive Mom for giving her quality of life and incredible love the last 4+ years of her life. And hugs to her for her lost sweetie. ~Venita
This is adorable Missy from FOCAS (Hasbrouk Heights NJ) playing! ~Lisa
