Week 3: First Vet Visit & Big Discoveries 🐾
The puppies turn three weeks old today, and they’ve already had a big adventure — their very first trip to the vet! Everyone passed with flying colors and charmed the staff. The vet techs couldn’t resist snapping selfies, Willow sat patiently for her heart check with a look that said, “Sigh… do what you will, I’ve been had,” and Anka and Liesel decided the whole visit was the perfect time for a nap on Joe’s lap. All the pups are now over 3 pounds, with Hans and Franz tipping the scales at over 4.
Back at home, Willow debuted her “ferocious” bark when the big dogs sounded the alarm — tiny but mighty! The litter also made a huge discovery: there are seven other playmates in the whelping box. Liesel, our smallest, proved “littlest dog wins” by moving from sibling to sibling until even big brother Hans rolled onto his belly in playful surrender.
At three weeks, the puppies are becoming more coordinated and curious — starting to play-bow, wrestle, and explore their surroundings. Next week, they’ll begin short play sessions outside the whelping box and meet new sights, sounds, and smells as their socialization journey begins. 🐶❤️
