Hi All! It’s going to be a very hot summer! Just today it was 95 degrees and irs nir even June yet 😰 Please protect your dogs during this hot weather. Try to walk them either in the early morning or after sunset to protect their paws from the hit pavement.
Always make sure to keep your dogs hydrated and you could even prepare some fun treats that you could freeze and give them to cool off after a long walk.
Do not leave your dog in the car even if the window is cracked. The inside of the car heats up very quickly while the car A/C is off.
Remember our pets are family. Take good care of them.

Our sweet baby girl Denver has found her fur ever home. We are so thrilled that she is going to a family that will love and cherish her forever. All of my ( ) litters have been special to me but Demi’s litter was like no other I have seen in a while. Seeing the beautiful bond between Demi and her babies was like no other I have ever seen. My only desire is that Demi and her remaining girls Destin and Dakota could be just as lucky to find a wonderful family as Denver is 🥰

Demi’s rainy Sunday mood as she awaits for her furever home. Demi is a 6 year old Xolo who is a total Velcro dog. She is loyal to her person and will show unconditional love and attention to you. She will become your shadow and never leave your side. She would be the perfect dog for someone that is retired or works from home since she is a true homebody. If you live a laid back life and want a buddy to watch Netflix with Demi is the one for you. She is not looking for outdoor adventure or agility training lol she only wants a chill life where she can be safe and happy. Join us in welcoming Hazel to the Rescue Paws family!

Hazel a three year old mixed breed pup. She was found in the middle of an intersection on a pouring afternoon. There was an attempt made to catch Hazel but she quickly directed us to her previous home. It was made very clear by her previous owners that she was left out because she was no longer wanted in her home. Hazel lived in an outdoor create without roofing along with two of her siblings.

I’m happy to say that after three months of fostering is officially available for adoption! Hazel is crate, potty trained and dog friendly. She has been vaccinated, spayed and microchipped: All documentation will be provided.

Hazel loves to go on walks around the neighborhood, spend quality time on the couch and endless pets. Hazel would be best in a home without cats and with a family who is patient, loving and has an active lifestyle as she is a dog filled with liveliness. Hazel has eyes filled with love and embraces affection as it’s something that she didn’t experience in her early life.

Our sweet mommy Demi is slowly healing from her mastitis. She is taking her medications and getting her warm compresses twice daily. The pink area on her belly was hard and bulgy and now it feel soft, smooth and flatter. Her milk is pretty much dried out and she will be ready to get spayed soon. RP4FH rescued our beautiful Demi 3 months ago while she was pregnant and living in a hoarding/backyard breeding home down in Homestead. She came from the same home as Olivia the Frenchie , Dante and Dulcie our Xolos. It was a house with 31 dogs and with the collaboration of 2 other rescues all the dogs were rescued and are now safe.

In all years in rescue I have never met a mom like Demi. Her passion and commitment to her 3 beautiful babies has been unheard of. They literally were all obsessed with each other.

On Wednesday of this week, I went to go feed Demi and her babies before going to work and I felt something was off with Demi. She had a fever of almost 103, was looking lethargic and showed no interest in food or getting out of her bed. I called in late to work and dropped her off at the vet to get checked out.

It turns out that Demi has developed mastitis. She can no longer be with her babies because I can’t jeopardize her health and recovery. She is taking medication and getting warm compresses twice a day to help dry up her milk so she can get spayed soon.

We need to raise money to help with Demi’s medical care. Every little bit helps us get her the treatment she needs to make a full recovery .

As I reflect on the last year and I think about some of our dogs that have been in the rescue for way too long I think about Liam and Jae. I am pleased to share that tomorrow both Liam and Jae have meet and greets with potential forever families. Jae is now 7-8 months and she came to the rescue when she was about 6-7 weeks old. Liam came to us when he was only 4 weeks old and has been in the rescue so long now that he is 1 year and 8 months old. Liam is practically part of our families as he lives between the homes of and and is also a big part of his life. He is the luckiest rescue dog we have ever had despite all the horrible things he went through at just 4 weeks old. We can’t change his past but we sure as hell have changed his future each and everyday he has been with us. But our sweet boy deserves stability in one home and we pray that tomorrow will be the start of a new positive transition towards his future. We wish all the same for Jae. The stigma with black dogs is a real thing as we have seen in with Jae. She is the sweetest and spunkiest girl yet has been o relooked time and time again. Meet our foster, Olivia! Olivia came to us extremely malnourished (weighing 15 lbs) with patches of missing fur and severe colitis. With lots of love and care from her foster, Olivia has been slowly healing and is up to 22lbs! However, she still has a long road ahead of her to be fully healed.

Yesterday she had to go to emergency vet for pooping globs of blood and having constant diarrhea. Today she’s at the vet getting follow up testing and imaging.

RP4FH currently has 15 dogs in the rescue. Many of our dogs are either in rehabilitation, in training or waiting to be spayed/neutered. We depend on the support of our followers and adopters and volunteers to be able to help pay for all these expenses. Today is Giving Tuesday and we have a goal to raise $1000 before midnight. Watch out Xolo lovers we have Dante and Dulcie in the rescue and in 1st week of December they will be available to go foster 2 adopt as soon as they get their 2nd set of vaccinations. Dante is the gray Xolo with more hair and Dulcie is the almost hairless Xolo. They are both sweet as can be and friendly with other dogs and people. We rescued two husky/terrier mixes, Fox (male) & Uma (female) who are 3 months old!

LEFT PICTURE -- Fox is shy at first but sweet and playful once he warms up to you. He has a very calm personality, but also loves attention. He loves to give kisses, going on walks, and toys. He gets along with other dogs and kids. He is about 3 months old and currently 8 lbs. His mom is a pretty small terrier mix dog and the dad is a beautiful completely white husky.

Last week, our sweet Pregnant Xolo Demi gave birth to 3 precious little girls who we named Dakota, Denver and Destin. It was quite the experience for as she was in route to get dropped off with while I was at our adoption event when she delivered her first baby Dakota who gave her welcome into the world like a Dakota Storm lol. Thank you and and for taking excellent care of my sweet girl before I made it over to her. Mommy Demi and her babies are now home and doing amazing!
