Thanks to the University of Notre Dame Pre-College Programs for serving at GBG this past week! They did a fabulous job helping with our priority projects - tending our potato field and sanitizing our growing equipment. They are true servant leaders!

GBG packed dozens of bags of already-prepped Meal Kits for the Near Northeast Food pantry —and we had the joy of delivering them to our friends there. A hearty kale and bean soup with veggies, and easy to make, our Kits in total provided a healthy meal for 200 community members! Special thanks to South Bend Kiwanis and NE Pantry supporters for their help making this project possible.
What a wonderful event celebrating our Co-Founder Chris and all the Michiana 40 Under 40 Honorees! The presence of our GBG Board, Friends, and Team made the event extra-special. It was awesome to be in a room with so many young leaders making a huge difference for our community. A truly inspiring day!
Great meet-up at the farm with Delonda and Dakoda, who manage the Linden Avenue Farmers Market for the City of South Bend - Municipal Government. This gem of a Market works to provide fresh, healthy produce to neighborhoods in South Bend lacking food access. Grateful to collaborate to expand the Market and its important work of improving food security for all members of the community!

What a day! - 50 participants, 30 pounds of greens harvested for the Food Bank of Northern Indiana, 700+ seeds and transplants prepped, and new fields readied for planting. Huge thanks to Marian High School, MACOG’s Americorps Sustainability Program, and Saint Mary’s College for the best volunteers ever! We look forward to collaborating so each member of the community has access to fresh, nutritious food.
We love sharing our farm with our Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC) friends - what a wonderful semester of planting, learning, and growing together!
The kindergarten field trip to Farmer Jan’s farm (Green Bridge Growers) was super interesting, adventurous and educational! We participated in many learning engagements, including harvesting kale, feeding fish used to nourish the plants in the hydroponic greenhouse, making kale smoothies and planting swiss chard!
We are so grateful for this rich learning experience this semester and our terrific field trip today. Thank you to Farmer Jan, our educators and to the parent helpers who joined us!

Green Bridge Growers is hosting a service day one week from today on Thursday, April 25 from 3:30 - 5:30 pm. They will be offering tours and coordinating projects such as seeding vegetables, harvesting kale, and packing meal kits for the food pantry. Right now, we're loving on these local greens from Green Bridge Growers!! This farm's mission is to provide jobs for autistic youth and young adults while growing healthy, delicious food. Greenhouse-grown only a few miles from our front door, their spinach and kale are fresh as can be.
Pro tip: try this kale right now! They're growing it intentionally during these cooler temps to make for an intentionally sweeter taste. It's super tender and so yummy! 😋
Mornings at the Robinson Community Learning Center Preschool are the very best! Our Americorps members, Ruby and Heather, guide the children in learning all about seeds and how plants grow. We’re positively delighted to develop Farm to Preschool initiatives in our region alongside the Indiana Department of Agriculture!
