Drako has found his forever home! Erika has welcomed this lovable boy into her family just in time for the holidays.

🌟 No Place Like Home Adoption Update: Esmeralda (formerly Amethyst) 🌟

Hi friends! Here's a heartwarming update from Hunter, Esmé’s new mom:

"I just wanted to send an update on Amethyst, who we've renamed Esmeralda (Esmé for short). We chose her name after the Disney character from The Hunchback of Notre Dame, known for her compassion, bravery, and resilience—qualities Esmé embodies beautifully.

Esmé has adjusted incredibly well to her new life! She loves lounging on her human sister's bed in the sunshine, playing with her noisy mouse toy (a favorite from her shelter days!), and getting spoiled with belly and ear rubs every evening. She’s also a very vocal girl who lets us know when she wants attention and rewards us with the sweetest purrs.

Her progress in just one month has been amazing. We absolutely adore her and promise she’s getting all the love and spoiling she deserves!

Thank you for introducing us to our perfect match. Esmé has truly made our family complete."

Stories like these remind us why we do what we do. Thank you, Hunter, for giving Esmé a wonderful new beginning.

Buddy has found his forever family! Alyssa, Jaquam, and their wonderful family welcomed Buddy into their hearts and home as part of our Home for the Holidays Adoption Event. This heartwarming adoption was made possible thanks to the generous sponsorship of Dr. Pecina and Afdent - Patient Friendly Dentistry who covered Buddy’s adoption fee.

All fees waived until the end of the year.

As temperatures plunge, remember:
✅ Dogs must be brought indoors during wind chill warnings, heat advisories, or tornado warnings.
✅ If outside, pets must remain in visual range of a competent adult who is outdoors with them.

County Ordinance Reminder:
"Dogs must be brought into a temperature-controlled facility when the temperature constitutes a health hazard for that particular animal, or when a heat advisory, wind chill warning, or tornado warning has been issued by local, state, or national authority, except when the dog is in visual range of a competent adult who is outside with the dog."

Neglecting these safety measures could result in fines up to $2,500. Let’s work together to ensure no pet is left out in the cold.

🎄 Home for the Holidays: Honey Bunny Boy’s Journey 🎄

When Honey Bunny Boy (HBB) came to us as a stray, he was emaciated and in rough shape. Despite his tough start, HBB turned out to be the sweetest, most loving boy—and his resilience paid off! (LOOK AT HIS FACE)

We’re thrilled to share that HBB has found his forever home with Grace and his new dog brother, Axel!

When temperatures drop or a wind chill warning is issued, pets must be brought indoors to a temperature-controlled environment. According to the county ordinance:

❌ Neglecting these rules can result in fines starting at $250. Animal Control Officers will respond to complaints about pets left outside with improper shelter.

🎄 Home for the Holidays: Cajun’s Adoption Story 🎄

Cajun came to us after being surrendered with several other animals. While he was shy at first, it didn’t take long for his sweet, loving personality to shine through. This big love bug quickly became a staff favorite—and now he’s found his forever home with Tristan!

Thanks to the generosity of Afdent - Patient Friendly Dentistry Cajun’s adoption fee was completely covered, ensuring he could make it home just in time for the holidays.

We’re so grateful to Tristan for opening his heart and home to Cajun and to Afdent for helping make moments like this possible. Wishing you both a joyful holiday season filled with love and new memories!

Good morning, friends!

Yesterday was an incredible day for our shelter. Thanks to your generosity during Giving Tuesday, we raised $13,735 to help with medical expenses! But even more inspiring, our mission reached over 300,000 people through the support of local media and your engagement on social media.

We couldn’t be more thankful—for your donations, your thoughtful gifts, and, most importantly, your love for what we do.

While our goal was $15,000, we’re confident we’ll reach it today with continued giving and the contributions from those sending checks by mail. If you’d still like to donate, we’ve included a link in the comment section below.

That said, the purpose of this post is simply to express our heartfelt gratitude. Thank you for being a part of this journey with us!

What an amazing day it has been celebrating Giving Tuesday! We have raised $12,680 as of 5:00pm and there is still time to raise the last $2,320 for us to reach our $15,000 goal!

Proceeds from today's Giving Tuesday fundraiser will go directly to our medical expenses which provide live saving and preventative care to thousands of animals each year. We are so grateful for your support so we can save so many lives.
