Had a fun and succesful day at the ISRBA State Convention yesterday! Congrats to all the winners, there was a great display of animals across many breeds. We were fortunate enough to take BEST IN SHOW B with our Black Dutch Senior Doe! She recently weaned her second litter and bounced right back into show shape! I also had BOS Dutch in both show A & B. I sent a few off to their new homes and I’m excited to see how these impact these youth’s herds and the success they find with them! It was a great day catching up with new and old friends!

For those interested in juniors or 4H rabbits this spring, just know we will have a very limited number that will be available beyond these. This winter was not the most successful breeding season for us, but we are excited for the ones we do have growing! 🐰🐰

To maintain my goal of being more active on here, I thought I would share two almost 5 month old junior bucks, BUZZ (SP) & WOODY (Tort)! This is the first Sable Point I have produced in several years, and was an exciting genetic test as the mom was the last possible carrier in my barn.

I never posted the newest addition to our Holland Lop herd. After over a decade of raising and establishing our herd, I am proud of the linebred herd I’ve created, that can be traced back to the very first show rabbit I purchased in July of 2012. I managed to carry on that line through survivors from our barn fire in 2017, into producing the herd I have now. Over the last 4 years, I have added 3 hollands to the herd, 2 of which from a close friend that we swapped cobreedings with, and now this one I couldn’t pass up at the 2024 ARBA Convention. Sometimes you need to look elsewhere for the pieces you need in your herd. I think he is a great addition to our herd and excited to see the impact he has on our herd!

Rewmba is a buck I have gone back and forth many times on parting with. I love a lot about him, the only thing I don’t, is that I have SO MANY closely related bucks, and that buck:doe ratio needs some tweaking. He’s developing a nice head, with great substance of bone (which seems to be more difficult on REWs), and a smooth body. He’s still growing out his chest and crown fur, but should mature to be a nice buck. Please PM me for more info, he will remain in my care until the conclusion of convention.

Asiago is a spunky young buck coming up. He is mid molt and clearly not looking his best, but incredibly promising. The lighting and molt make his color look funky in the photos. He has quite the personality… or attitude, it’s hard to tell which, he’s not mean or aggressive by any means, just spunky. He loves to pin his ears back, but a quick snap in front of him and he will hold them like he does in the cage. He’s very wide with a great front end coming in. I suspect he will mature into a very nice buck.

This buck just needs time to develop. He’s going to be a slow maturer, but is a grandson to Lund Lops’ Forward, who was instrumental in rebuilding my herd after the barn fire in 2017. This buck does like to lean back on his HQ, making him appear long in the shoulder. He has a nice smooth, wide body with nice fur coming in. His mom is a chocolate and dilute carrier, and dad is a rew carrier, so there’s a chance he carries some recessives!

This 4 month old buck still has a lot of maturing to do. He’s very upright in structure, super, deep body with great fur coming in. He has a touch of a slipped crown and could use more substance of bone. I foresee him being a very nice buck with some maturity time! Please PM with any questions. We are gearing up and excited for the upcoming ARBA convention in Louisville at the end of the month. I have made decisions on the Hollands I will have available for relocation which can leave at the end of convention. I plan to post each one individually with the information attached.
