I have worked with shelter dogs for over fifteen years, and homeless dogs are my passion. I have a BA in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Santa Barbara and embrace a scientific, humane, positive, modern approach to dog training. I rely on my own intuition and experience with dogs, and use lots of treats! I am certified by the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers
, which entails passing a 250 question, standardized test, 300 hours of professional dog training, and endorsements by a veterinarian, fellow dog trainer, and a client. I am a graduate of the Animal Behavior College for formal dog training, am a member of the Association of Profession Dog Trainers. I constantly attend seminars on dog training and behavior to keep abreast of the most modern, positive techniques. I have a lovely pack of four rescue dogs of my own. Nothing makes me happier than when a deserving dog finds a great forever home. I love visiting dogs in their new homes, and helping the owner learn to communicate with them and teach them how to become a good family member. I am retired from professional dog training but like to dispense free advice on dog training websites, or helping dogs and their owners that come into my orbit. I also enjoy training my own big goofy dogs.
