Whether you're planning a party, school field trip, retreat, or any other special event, we've got you covered. EVENT & PARTY CENTER
Birthday parties, school field trips, company retreats, family reunions, mixers, etc. Event Facility Rental - Petting Zoo, hayrides, giant tortoise exhibit, horse rides, cattle pen, pony rides, photo sessions, s’mores, arts & crafts, piggy chase, pavilion, fire pit a

nd property rental. Please note, this is a real working farm and ranch. Our horse riding sessions are a non-structured, informal activity where nobody is having to overly prompt children or adult riders with demands, instruction or orders. Instead, the rider is guided to notice his or her own feelings, fear and anxieties and to slowly overcome those by interacting and trusting these huge magnificent animals. Riders are asked to focus on empathy, compassion and trust. Through horses, youths and adults can obtain the ability to calmly respond to a situation instead of reacting emotionally. They learn how to interpret their horse's reactions and stay calm in order to co-operate with a large animal. These skills are not only useful when they work with horses but are also important when interacting with people. Interpreting the feelings of a horse teaches empathy which enables understanding the feelings and situations of others. Much of modern interaction between kids and adult alike is with hi-tech media such as cell phones, tablets, and computers. As a result, their exposure to the appearance of others has significantly decreased in recent years, reducing their ability to be empathic. Through horses, people become aware of the needs of their animals often before their own needs, enhancing their ability to empathize. Recent studies have shown that regular exposure to a horse regulates the immune system, lowers stress levels and improves well-being.

Wow! What an incredible day at Hacienda La Hortencia! We were honored to host a free farm event for our special needs community, and it was a tremendous success! 🌾💛 From feeding the animals to making s’mores and everything in between, every smile and laugh reminded us of the power of connection and inclusion. Thank you to all the amazing families who made this day unforgettable. Together, we created lasting memories and a space where everyone could feel joy and freedom. Looking forward to more events like this in the future! 🐴🌟

At our ranch, we strongly believe in the profound impact that animals can have on individuals. They offer unconditional love, kindness, and a non-judgmental presence to everyone they encounter. In particular, we have created a special space for children with Down syndrome and autism to freely express themselves and explore at their own pace.

Through interacting with our animals, these children have the opportunity to learn valuable life lessons such as love, trust, and responsibility. The animals also provide them with a sense of connection and belonging. It is truly heartwarming to witness these children as they pet, brush, and interact with these beautiful animals. "
