Because tipped ears are the cutest ears 😍

We had some cat spays and neuters scheduled yesterday. Here is the handsome “Hermoso” showing off his tipped ear. Not only is he no longer adding to the overpopulation of strays, he will live a longer and healthier life.. and anyone who comes across him will also know he’s already been neutered ✂️

We also had a female cat scheduled for spay.. but we received a call from the clinic stating that, not only is the cat not a female, he’s actually a neutered male 🙈🙈 Turns out this cat was rescued 3 years ago as a kitten and owner just assumed he was a she 🤣 we checked for chip and he was not chipped. And yes, he’s chipped now 😊

It makes us incredibly happy that there are other people out there doing TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return), but we highly recommend y’all get the ears tipped so we avoid another situation like this 🙏😆

We are so grateful to everyone who does their part in controlling this very big stray problem we have. Whether you TNR, foster, or donate… you play a very big role in this. It truly takes a village ❤️

As always, our “TNR Saves Lives” t-shirts are available for purchase. For every two sold we are able to fix a stray cat for free to the community.

We’ve been networking a litter of pups for about 5 months now (last pic is them at first vaccine 🥺). We’ve had zero rescue interest in them 💔

Unfortunately, they are now at breeding age. We committed to helping and that means completing their vetting 100%. The last thing we want or need is more puppies being born. Today we have two out of 5 pups going in for spay and neuter. We are in need of $150 for today. Donations are needed and appreciated 🙏

It was almost 100 degrees yesterday afternoon and this tiny little pup was tired of waiting for her owner to come back for her. Surely they didn’t mean to leave her there at the water mill 😔😔

We don’t know how long she was out there.. she was almost out of the water they left her in the cut open beer can. But we are so grateful to the person who found her and saved her. Poor baby was defeated.. and likely heartbroken. Luckily, the right person arrived at just the right time.

Please help us welcome Kelby (German for “place by the flowing water”) to BnB. She will be fostered by the person who found her and tomorrow we will administer her first puppy vaccines and preventatives. She is available for adoption and rescue transfer.

Link with ways to donate, including Amazon WishList, will be in comments. Thank you for helping us save the homeless animals of the RGV ❤️🐶

Friends, we are in need of funds today. We sent 5 dogs and a kitten to the vet for their vaccines.

The 5 pups have been in foster since they were just babies. We’ve been unable to get a rescue tag for them. As of today, they are current with all of their vaccines. They are lab mix and around 6mos old.

The kitten walked into a store last week and is with a temp foster. We are in need of a rescue tag and new foster for her.

Vetting averaged $35 per pet. Donations are appreciated. Any amount helps! 🙏🐶🐱

Charlie and Clarke are one step away from heading to their best lives! 🥳

These two homeless cuties (found as strays in Edinburg) will be transported to Idaho on 9/13, where our friends at Freedom Bound Hounds will make sure they find good homes.

All the boys need is their health certificates and one last vaccine to travel. We are in need of $75 for their vet visit. Donations are appreciated!

Flowcode with ways to donate is in our bio.

What happens when a shelter adopts out pets before spaying/neutering? This. More babies added to the overpopulation of homeless pets in the RGV 💔

Sweet momma had her 8 babies outside of a business in Donna TX. Luckily, an employee there was able to get the little family indoor to prevent the babies from dying from heatstroke. When we asked about the dad, they said he lived at a home nearby and was allowed to roam. We later found out daddy dog was adopted from the humane society but never got neutered. When the humane society was asked if they had room for a momma dog with newborns, they said they were at capacity.

So here we are, asking for your support with this little family. The babies are about to turn 6 weeks old and ready for their first vaccine. We are hoping to get them transported out soon. Momma has a home with the employee and we will make sure she gets spayed. And we can only pray daddy dog gets neutered before he produces more homeless pups.

We just ordered two trays of vaccines ($239) and are in need of donations. We try to help as much as we can, even other organizations, but we can only do this with your support. Help us help the homeless animals of the Rio Grande Valley 🙏

The pups are harder to manage now that they’re moving around more. If you are able to foster one or two, please let us know. Also available for adoption until they’re tagged for transport. Can go to their forever homes after their puppy vaccines are completed. Mom is a petite black lab. And dad is a red lab mix.

International Dog Day is observed as a special occasion to celebrate the love, loyalty and companionship that dogs bring to our lives. It is celebrated every year on August 26 in several countries.

Here are some BnB dogs in their FURever homes ❤️ We would love to see your babies! Please share a photo of them in the comments 🥰

Update: foster found ❤️

We are in need of a foster for two tiny kittens. They showed up almost two weeks ago at an alley behind a restaurant. There were 4 babies and their mom. Mom went missing and two kittens were taken. These two have been hanging tight, waiting for their mom who will not be coming back for them. She was likely hit by a car when she went out hunting for food 💔

An employee feeds them twice a day.. when she goes in to work and again after work.. but these babies are not doing well without mom and regular feedings. It’s also been extremely hot. They’re looking haggard and one has what looks like a little abscess behind his ear 😢

We have given the employee supplies, including goats milk to add to the food, but she’s unable to take these babies home. Can anyone help us by fostering them? We will provide supplies and vet care 🙏

Happy CATurday from Cheddar! 😻

We are so in love with this silly, happy little tripod. It’s amazing how well he has adjusted to his amputation surgery. He is a typical kitten with the typical orange tabby personality. He’s curious, mischievous, and fearless. He’s also very spoiled 😆 He loves humans and can be needy for attention. He gets along with the other cats in the household and is not afraid of the dogs. And he loves to watch the nature channels on TV. His foster moms have done such an amazing job with him and we are forever grateful for them.

However, Cheddar is still looking for his forever family. We are hoping to get him in for his neuter this month. His adoption will include all his vaccines, neuter, and microchip. All of our pets must be indoor pets, but this is especially true for Cheddar. As a tripod, he would have a lot of trouble protecting himself from a predator if he were outside.

If you think you can provide a safe and loving home for Cheddar, send us a message. ❤️🐱

It’s amazing what some TLC can do 🥰

Molly was found as a stray back in June. She was nursed back to health, vaccinated, spayed, and groomed. Last week she was adopted, but was returned because the adopter was worried that Molly has health issues. Even though her foster never noticed anything that was worrisome, we would not want to adopt out a sick pet to anyone. So, Molly is currently on the way to the vet to get a full checkup.

Our funds are extremely limited. We fully vet all our pets that are available for adoption, and our adoption fee rarely covers all that is spent on them. Our goal here isn’t to profit on them.. our goal is to find them the best homes. With that being said, Molly is in need of funds to cover today’s vet visit. We pray she is a healthy girl so she can go to her forever home 🙏

We cannot believe it’s only been a week since Cheddar had his amputation surgery. He is adjusting incredibly well. He still has stitches, so his foster mom has to watch that he doesn’t try to jump or climb on things. This little guy is not afraid of anything. He is super curious and super sweet.

His surgery follow-up is this Wednesday. We will administer his first kitten vaccine the following week and will schedule his neuter for 2 weeks after that. He will be available for adoption after his neuter.

We are so grateful to Cheddar’s foster family who is taking such great care of him ❤️

These photos are only 3 weeks apart but a world of a difference ➡️

Oliver was found roaming the streets of Reynosa, Mexico on July 4th. He was taken to our vet partner there who contacted us asking for help. We knew a cutie like this could be placed easily. So we reached out to our rescue partner, Love of Littles, who did not hesitate. Within 2.5 weeks Oliver was vetted and on a plane ride out of the RGV ✈️

And today he is finally home with the family he always deserved 🏠

We will never stop saying thank you to our fosters, partners, and donors for helping make these “happy tails” possible… THANK YOU ❤️🐶

Between two TNR cat surgeries, meds for a sick Pug, and paying off an outstanding bill, our total expenses for today were $350 😢 and this doesn’t include two dog spay/neuter surgeries and another TNR cat from last week.

Some weeks our expenses are very low, but July has been an expensive month for us. We are glad we can help animals in need, but we can only continue to do so with your support. Donations are appreciated 🙏

Animals are truly amazing. They are so resilient. Some go through unimaginable things at such a young age. And our little Cheddar is no exception 🥺

Cheddar was seen on a street in McAllen, dragging his back leg. A Good Samaritan picked him up and posted him on Facebook hoping someone could help. We saw the post and offered to help *if* we could find a foster. We only saw the pics that were on the post and his leg did not look too bad.. looked like maybe a sprain with a flesh wound. So, we set it up so that he could be seen by a vet the next day (today) to hopefully save his leg.. while we were still looking for a foster to care for him after.

As the day went on, we found a foster and ordered some supplies for Cheddar. But by the end of the night, things got bad. We aren’t sure what exactly happened, but Cheddar’s bone dislodged from his skin (last photo - graphic) 😰
He’s currently on his way to the vet and will likely need amputation surgery. This is not an expense we expected or can financially take on, but we just could not ignore that sweet little face 😢

We are extremely grateful to the person who picked him up. If this complication had happened to Cheddar out on the streets, he could not have survived an infection or would not have been able to defend himself against predators and other cats.

We are here to help save lives. Donations are needed and appreciated 🙏🙏

Molly (min.poodle) and Miley (husky x) were found at a dead end road. There were no homes around.. just an empty field. It was quite obvious they were dumped there. Miley was seen first. She was sitting up as if waiting patiently for someone to come back for them. As her rescuer got closer, she saw Molly curled up next to Miley. When Molly was picked up, Miley whined for her. No way she’d be left behind but Miley was afraid they were taking her only friend in the world 🥺

We tried to find a rescue for them but there was only interest for Molly.. not Miley. Plus they were also afraid Molly would be a high medical case.

These pics are 3 weeks apart. All that’s been given to them so far is a flea/tick preventative, daily feedings, and love. They already look so much better and we are so grateful to their foster for taking care of them.

Today we are sponsoring their vaccines and blood tests in hopes that now a rescue will want to take them. Molly is around 1.5 years old and only weighs 7lbs. Miley is just a pup, 8-9 mos old, and 28 lbs. We are in need of a rescue tag for both.

Donations are appreciated for today’s visit and to help us continue helping dogs like Molly and Miley.

Sparky’s mom tagged us in a post reminding us that it’s been a year since she “foster failed” this little cutie 😍

When we started BnB we never imagined we would help as many cats as we have. We even have a successful TNR Program that we are extremely proud of. But this right here is why we do anything at all 🥹

Sparky was just a baby when he was found with such a chronic eye infection he had to have his eye removed. As a foster-based organization, the only way we could help him was if someone was going to be able to care for him after his surgery. We are so grateful to Gladis and her hubby for stepping up. Sparky had some rescue interest and one local meet & greet.. but turned out he was in his FURever home all along 🥰

Happy Adoption-versary, Sparky! We are so very happy for you! ❤️❤️

PS. Thank you to everyone who makes a donation to BnB.. this is where your donations go 🙏🙏

Five months is a very long time for puppies to wait to find their forever homes. These “fly” girls have been waiting patiently, along with their sisters, since Jan. They were born to a stray mom who made her way to the property of a kind person who has been caring for this family since the pups were born. Firefly and Dragonly are starting their journey to their best lives today.. and their sisters will follow in a couple of weeks. We are so grateful to our rescue partner Furever Safe Rescue for taking them in and their dedication in helping us save the homeless animals of the Rio Grande Valley. We are also very grateful for our friends and sponsors at Four Pillars Development LLC for their continued love and support in our mission.. especially with this little family. We always say this because it is so very true: we can only do this successfully if we all work together. It takes a village to save the homeless animals of the RGV. 🙏❤️

Safe travels, Fly Girls… we are so happy for you! 🚐🐾

Hope everyone has a happy and safe 4th of July!
07/04/2024

Hope everyone has a happy and safe 4th of July!

Humans may enjoy the revelry of fireworks, but for some pets, fireworks, like thunder storms, can cause a great deal of stress which may include:
• Violent shaking, trembling
• Excessive drooling
• Barking, howling
• Trying to hide or get into/out of the house, fence, or other enclosure
• Refusing to eat food
• Some animals may lose bladder or bowel control or experience temporary diarrhea from prolonged stress

Some dogs don’t seem to notice the fireworks. But some pets cannot be calmed by petting or talking to them; they are simply too upset by the noise. Animals who are frightened/stressed can hurt themselves and possibly escape if left alone, and the results can be fatal. Frightened animals running loose are in great danger of being lost or, worse yet, hit by a car. For this reason, please be prepared to be there for your pet during the Fourth of July and News Year’s Day.

Hope you all have a Happy (and Safe!) 4th of July! 🥳🇺🇸❤️💙

BnB Friends.. we had several expenses today and could use some help with donations.

(Pic 1) We sent a pregnant cat in to get spayed. She is just a kitten.. not even a year old 😢 We cannot allow this cycle to continue; especially since there are so many other homeless cats where she lives. We will be working on this colony at a Senior Community.

(Pic 2) Charlie was found as a stray on an extremely hot day, on the street, with absolutely no homes around. We think he may have fallen out of a moving vehicle. Hopefully he wasn’t thrown out. He is being treated for a respiratory infection and an eye infection.

(Pics 3 and 4) Boba when she was found and while she was being cared for her by first foster. She is now with her new foster and indoor. Today she received her first set of vaccines and dewormer.

Total cost for these cats is $250. We can only continue to help the homeless animals with your support. Donations appreciated 🙏

06/26/2024

In light of recent events.. four animal hoarding cases in as many months.. we felt the need to share a little vital information that may help someone, and animals, in need. Please keep an eye on your neighbors and family members, especially the elderly.

Although it’s likely that every animal hoarder starts off with the best intentions, hoarding is still considered animal cruelty and can be a sign of mental illness. Animal “hoarding” can be identified when a person is housing more animals than they can adequately and appropriately care for. The hoarders even believe they are helping the animals.

We do not know the exact details of this newest hoarding case, but the truth is this is a serious problem that we must try to prevent from happening again, or at least try to offer assistance before it gets to this point. We need to recognize the signs to know if, possibly, a neighbor is in this situation, or even a friend or relative.

Please reach out for help if you or someone you know is in this situation. Contact your city’s Animal Control or County Sheriff’s office for assistance. You can send us a message if you need more information on how to proceed.

The difference two weeks and a little TLC makes 😍

Frankie and Chabelita received their bordetella and second DAPP vaccines yesterday, as well as a flea/tick and hw preventative. We are so grateful to their foster mom for taking such great care of them. They’ve already learned how to use the doggie door 🙌

We are still in need of a rescue tag for them 🙏
All vaccines will be provided. Frankie is a husky, around 4mos, and Chabelita is a tiny terrier mix we had aged her at around 1yr old but she is likely around 7mos. Skin condition from malnutrition is improving daily. They are both very sweet, social, friendly dogs.

Currently in McAllen TX. Also available for local adoption for a small fee, to cover spay/neuter, once they are fully vaccinated.

Thank you to everyone who makes T-shirt or raffle ticket purchases, or monetary, food, or wishlist donations.. this is where your support goes ❤️🐶🐶

Pet Preparedness

It is important to include pets and livestock in your disaster emergency plans and build a separate emergency kit for your animals.

Disasters can strike quickly. Due to our size and location, Texas is one of the most disaster-prone states with risks for hurricanes, tornados, floods, and fires.

Although we are only expecting a lot of rain in the next couple of days, and not a natural disaster, it is still good to be prepared. Be safe everyone.

Raffle ends Saturday! We still have numbers available!

One Winner:
• $250 Igloo Trailmate Cooler
• $50 Bob Starks Gift Card
• BnB T-shirt and koozies

All funds will go towards helping us save more homeless animals 🙏❤️🐶🐱🐰

We’ve been trying to get Khan and Max placed with one of our rescue partners for over 2 months. These sweet dogs are being surrendered by their owner. All they know is life in this outdoor kennel. At one point, Khan (the husky) was very loved by a young man.. but he went to college two years ago and left Khan behind. Max (the scruffy little guy) is very bonded to Khan.. always nearby him.

Khan is fully vetted and we are so thankful to his sponsor for covering that expense. He unfortunately tested positive for heartworms, but is being treated for it.

Max had zero vetting so he is scheduled today for neuter, three vaccines, and snap test (to check for heartworms and tick-borne diseases). There was some rescue interest in them a couple weeks ago and we are hoping that if we send fully vetted dogs that they will be more inclined to take them. The days have been extremely hot and we are so worried for these fluffy boys 😢

Donations needed for today’s visit. We’ve spent close to $1000 in vetting and expenses these last 3 weeks with very little donations coming in. We so appreciate your support 🙏

We have three spay/neuter appts today. Two TNR cats and a sweet dog named Dodger. We are in need of $200 to cover today’s costs.

The two cats (male and female) will be released back out after they’ve recovered. They will never again add to the overpopulation of strays in the RGV. Dodger is available for adoption or rescue transfer through our friends at Huellitas del Valle.
