On this special day, the Rio Grande Valley Humane Society extends heartfelt gratitude to all veterans, including the remarkable four-legged heroes who have stood valiantly beside our brave men and women. We are deeply honored to share the inspiring story of Sergeant Fieldy and his devoted handler, Marine Corporal Nicolas Caceres. Their unbreakable bond exemplifies the profound connection between service members and their canine partners. Corporal Caceres continues to champion the Sgt. Fieldy Act, a noble initiative aimed at granting military working dogs the honor of being laid to rest in national and certain state veteran cemeteries. This act seeks to recognize the unwavering loyalty and sacrifices of these courageous animals. We extend our deepest appreciation to all who have served, both two-legged and four-legged, for their selfless dedication and service.

Tootsie Roll was an owner surrender with her 5 siblings and her mom, earlier this year. Everyone else has been adopted and she is the last of her litter. She is a suuuuper sweet pup with pup energy. She loves people, loves the rain, and loves to play! 🙌 Tootsie Roll is 10 months old, spayed, up-to-date on all vaccines, microchipped, and has received monthly preventatives while in our care.

Hello, I'm Bagel! 🐶👋
I'm what they call a suuuuper cute dog. As you can see, I am a playful pup! The people here at RGVHS say I'm about 10 months old, close to 11 months. I have a beautiful coat with spots and they believe I'm part Beagel. I have gone to two foster homes with kids and had a blast. I'm looking for my forever home where I can run and play all day! If you are an active person and need a running buddy, consider me. 🙋🏻♀️ If you have kids, we can play all day on weekends and every day after school.
For those interested, I'm a beautiful girl, small breed and won't be getting much larger than I currently am (which is only 20 pounds), and I'm potty trained. 🙌
