🍫 Make Your Own Superfood Chocolate

🙋🏼‍♀️When I was in school studying Holistic Nutrition, one of my favorite things we learned was how to make our own Superfood Chocolate. I have the biggest sweet tooth, so I feel good when I can satisfy it with something that actually benefits my body! The base recipe is below and then you can have fun adding in any additional superfoods that you love!🍒🪻

DARK CHOCOLATE BASE

🌟 3/4 cup cacao butter, melted
🌟 2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted
🌟 1/2 cup cacao powder
🌟 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
🌟 pinch of sea salt
🌟 1 tablespoon maple syrup

MY FAVORITE ADD-INS

✨2 tablespoons dried mulberries
✨2 tablespoons dried goji berries
✨2 teaspoons cacao nibs
✨1 tablespoon dried lavender
✨4 tablespoons chopped macadamia nuts 
✨1 tablespoon bee pollen

ASSEMBLY

Heat the cacao butter and coconut oil in a pot on the stove, being careful not to burn it. Alternatively, place the cacao butter and coconut oil in a dehydrator at 115 degrees Fahrenheit, until melted (2-4 hours).

Stir in cacao powder, vanilla, sea salt, and maple syrup (can also use honey). Taste the chocolate, checking for desired sweetness. Add additional maple syrup to taste.

Mix in your favorite superfoods and allow the chocolate to firm up slightly at room temperature or in the fridge for easier spreading. Then, pour the mixture onto a parchment paper lined cookie sheet, or teflon lined dehydrator sheet and spread it out so its thickness resembles a bark.

Allow to cool in the refrigerator or freezer until hard. Then, break apart and enjoy! 💃🏻

Store in the refrigerator.

Give your liver a refreshing and detoxifying boost with this cleansing tonic! ✨ 🌿

🌟 Packed with adaptogens and nootropics, it’s the perfect blend to support your liver and boost your overall well-being. 💚

Ingredients:
* 1 cup coconut water 🥥
* 1/2 medium lemon, juiced 🍋
* 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, grated 🫚
* 1 tsp apple cider vinegar 🍎
* 1/4 tsp ground turmeric (or 1/2-inch fresh turmeric root, grated)
* A pinch of black pepper
* 1/2 tsp ashwagandha powder
* 1/2 tsp lion’s mane mushroom powder🦁
* Optional** 1/2 tsp honey or maple syrup for sweetness 🍯

Instructions:
1. Juice the lemon and grate the ginger and turmeric.
2. In a large glass, combine lemon juice, grated ginger, turmeric, apple cider vinegar, honey (if using), black pepper, ashwagandha powder, and lion’s mane mushroom powder.
3. Pour coconut water over the ingredients and stir well.
4. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes or serve immediately over ice.

✨ When winter arrives, it’s the perfect time to prepare a batch of syrup packed with vitamin C and immune-boosting herbs. 🍊 🌿

✨ The recipe below makes one 16oz bottle, or two 8oz bottles if you prefer to take them on the go. This powerful potion also makes a great holiday gift. 🎁🎄

1/4 tbsp Reishi Mushroom
1/4 tbsp Ashwaganda
1/4 tbsp Rosehips
1/4 tbsp Elderberries
2 c Distilled Water
1 c Honey or Cane Sugar

✨ Put all herbs and the elderberries into a pot and add the distilled water.
✨ Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and make space with the lid for heat to escape. Cook until the mixture has been reduced by half.
✨ Strain the mixture thoroughly.
✨ Rinse the pot and then place it back on stove and add the honey or cane sugar. Slowly stir until completely dissolved.
✨ Allow to cool and the transfer into bottles.

🌿 Adults take 1/2 to 1 tbsp daily. Children take 1/2 to 1 tsp daily.

It wasn’t until I started cycle syncing (more to come on this later) and learning how to balance my hormones that I really started to love my body and live in harmony with my cycle.

Thank you to everyone who has sent us DMs, emails, voicemails and comments asking where to find Plant Perks. I’ve been a bit quiet over here preparing for the birth of my third baby, happening any day now.

Also, in June we made the switch from manufacturing Plant Perks ourselves, to a Co-packer making it for us and unfortunately the transition hasn’t been as smooth as we expected.

I have extremely high standards for my products and require perfection with every production run. We are working out some kinks and because of that are out of stock at all of our grocery stores.
