They say that cats and dogs have the mental capacity of a 2 - 3 year old, and that always helps me remember that they aren't being defiant and rude - they're just a baby who needs our patience and care 👼

Cleaning Your Pet’s Ears Regularly Can Help You Save Money on Vet Bills 👂✨

A good rule of thumb to follow is cleaning your pet's ears whenever they're dirty. 👍 If wax accumulates often, they may need to be cleaned every day. If they don't produce much wax or collect much crud, you can clean them less often.

➡️ Read more on how to properly clean pets’ ears using natural cleaning agents, along with additional DIY pet care tips here: https://bit.ly/47O1lQG

raw pet food provides natural hydration from the inside out? Drinking less water is one of the first things pet parents notice when they start feeding raw, and that's because they are getting that from their meals 🥩 Proper hydration is one of the most important and often overlooked elements of well-being. A diet like Steve's Real Food is a natural way to provide your pet with hydration each and every meal.

🙀 Dry food isn't the cat's meow when it comes to their health. If you have no other options but dry, be sure to add some 💧hydration to their food by adding water, bone broth, goat milk, or even a little raw/wet food on top. Remember, not only does dry food lack moisture, it sucks moisture from your pet in order to digest it, further dehydrating your cat.

If you feed freeze-dried raw cat food, be sure to rehydrate it before feeding.

There are many spooky things hiding in some pet foods👻😱

Creepy-crawly things like:
mechanically separated meat, meat byproducts, factory farmed meats, pesticides, chemicals, produce discards, fillers, synthetic vitamin packs, vegetable oils, additives/preservatives, dyes and so much more! 👻

Thankfully, you won’t find any of those in any of our batches! 😇We’ve always have been committed to using carefully selected high quality and pristine ingredients we can be proud of.

What’s in every batch we make?
-certified humanely raised and harvested meats always!
-certified organic produce always!
-pure whole food derived supplements only
No nonsense, straight from nature’s bounty! 🌱

✨good things come in small batches!✨

A Powerful Duo to Soothe Pet Diarrhea 💩✅

Are you still using the old-school recipe of ground beef-and-rice bland diet for your pet’s diarrhea troubles? Switch to this healthier recipe! ⬇️

Canned 100% pumpkin 🎃 provides much more soluble fiber than rice 🍚, and lean ground turkey has less fat than ground beef. 👌

Wild fermentation — the process we incorporate in Bam’s Beets and Lua’s Fermented Golden Paste — uses the naturally occurring healthy bacteria and yeasts in the food for fermentation. Sea salt is added to lower the pH and create the right environment for naturally occurring bacteria to grow. Then they go to work digesting the sugars and starches present.

This means all of the healthy probiotics and healthy yeast come from the food itself and, in the case of vegetables, are soil-based. These friendly bacteria also make the food more digestible, add vitamins, organic acids and extra enzymes!

We chose wild fermentation because the naturally occurring bacteria are different in each batch. That creates a more diverse microbiome. The alternative, feeding a product already inoculated with probiotics, would lead to monoculturing. Too much of certain strains (even if they’re good!) will throw everything else off balance.

Wild fermentation is the secret sauce for a strong and healthy microbiome.

🥩🐟🥛 DCM & GRAIN-FREE

In my experience, dogs and cats do best on a high meat diet. Especially when we speak about cases of heart disease, meat is an invaluable source of many nutrients, but taurine is especially important for the heart. Taurine is absent in cereal grains.

They can’t put more than about 20% meat into kibble formulation, it won’t go through the manufacturing process. My diets are 70-85% meat/bone/organ for dogs and 90-95% meat/bone/organ for cats.

For dogs: https://drjudymorgan.com/products/yin-yang-nutrition-for-dogs-maximizing-health-with-whole-foods-not-drugs?_pos=1&_psq=yin+and+t&_ss=e&_v=1.0
For cats: https://drjudymorgan.com/blogs/recipes/how-to-make-cat-food

The drastic difference in meat content between my diets and kibble is one reason why I don’t have any kibble recommendations for you. The process involves high heat, subpar ingredients, and way too many carbohydrates. If you feed kibble, you can top it with raw meat from the grocery store (chicken, pork, beef, sardines, eggs, etc.) to boost the nutrition.

Whether your breed is predisposed to DCM or not, a species appropriate, high meat, high moisture diet will serve your cat or dog best.

Hi everyone, I am reaching out for my dear friend and her 6 month old kitty, Wolfie. … Breana Jones needs your support for FIP Treatment and Medical Expenses

Good health begins in the gut, so here are a few tips to help feed the gut for optimum health!

1. Feed collagen-rich bone broth
2. Rotate proteins to maximize the benefits
3. Add a variety of greens to feed the microbiome
4. Feed probiotic-rich foods like fermented veggies
5. Create a schedule of time-restricted feeding
6. Rotate sources of probiotics (supplements, fermented veggies or raw goat’s milk)

You don't have to do it all at once, either. If you're not doing any of this yet, start slow and ease into it. Then add more and more of these healthy eating tips along the way!

Know a friend who loves their pup as much as you love yours? Don't keep this post to yourself! All dogs deserve the gift of good gut health!

Reminder: rotate your proteins!

Rotating the protein sources that you feed your furry companions can make a big impact on their health - for the better🤗

Every protein provides a different combination of nutrients, and no single protein source can provide every nutrient that your dog or cat needs to be at their optimal level of health.
Some of our batches (such as our duck or lamb) have higher fat contents, some are a bit higher in protein than others, and every protein source has its own unique amino acid profile.

Additionally based on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) some proteins have cooling, neutral, warming or hot energies, feeding certain proteins can help alleviate certain issues in your pet’s overall wellness. For instance duck and rabbit are considered cooling proteins🧊these can help pets that are experiencing hot spots and any other skin irritations. Pork and beef are considered neutral proteins, while chicken and turkey are warming proteins and lamb is considered hot🔥Pets with arthritis or joint pain can often benefit from warming or hot proteins.

Keeping their diet varied with any and all proteins that they do well with is the best way to reap the benefits that each protein has to offer.
Which proteins are you feeding and rotating?!🤔🐶🐱
