I've heard from an authoritative source, a male will roam up to 5 miles. Either way, you get the idea. And they literally risk their lives when they're traveling. Male kittens are just as adorable as the girls, don't let them suffer & die while on a mission that's instinct & hormone driven. Please get them neutered to give them the best chance of having a healthier & longer life. 😽💙

Everyone that has found a free pet page to post on can just as easily find a spay/neuter assistance page to reach out to. Please start looking for the solution (spay/neuter) rather than the bandaid (getting this litter out of your home).

It has never been easier to get your cats fixed if you are in Louisville. It is so much easier to work with us for one appointment than it is to find homes for litter after litter.

One 4 year old mom who has had litter after litter given away was finally spayed yesterday. Her person was very easy to help and the mom was easy to handle. The 4 year old’s teenage kitten is being spayed today and she was pregnant. The contact took their latest free kitten post down and waited for us to get the kittens into a legitimate rescue. (The post included address of the kittens for anyone to come get them 😩).

This location is thoroughly and fully complete! No more free kittens. 🩷🖤🩵

"Kitten Season" 2025 is well underway, unfortunately. 😬

What should you do if you find a newborn kitten or litter of kittens outdoors?

Step 1: Please resist the urge to scoop up the kitten(s) because that could do more harm than good.

Instead, watch from a distance and wait for Mom to return.

STEP 2: If Mom DID come back …
Great! If you want to help by offering food and shelter, make sure this doesn't cause trouble for the cat family. Extra food will fuel Mom's milk production — BUT put it at least 20 feet from the kitten nest. If food is too close, it will attract other animals, and Mom will move her kittens to a safer place. If Mom doesn't have a great weatherproof place for the kittens, offer a weatherproof cat shelter — again, not too close to the current nest. Let Mom choose whether to use it or not. By offering resources without scaring Mom into moving her family, you'll know where the kittens are when they're weaned (6ish weeks to pull to help transition to canned kitten food and socialize) and old enough to be safely trapped for taming and adoption at 12 weeks of age.

🚩And, most importantly, don't forget to trap and spay Mom the same day you pull the kittens!

Have a plan. Schedule her TNR appointment right when the kittens are born, so it's scheduled, and call to get the kittens on every rescue and shelter intake list that same day as well. Do not delay. Mom can go into heat when her kittens are 2 weeks old, so do not wait. The clock is ticking to save lives.

Tonight, Ramona and Tao will be making an appearance at Petsmart. Over the past few months, they have grown incredibly close. Ramona, who is about a year old, has taken on a nurturing role, constantly cleaning and caring for Tao, who is approximately seven months old. As a result, they have become inseparable. While Ramona is more outgoing and affectionate, Tao is more shy until you discover his sensitive spot - the golden chin scratch. They are looking for a permanent indoor residence together.
