With our spring vacation, we are kidding a little later than we like to... but the tally so far is:

14 kids
4 does
10 bucks

We typically have the opposite gender ratio, but that's ok! If you're interested in a Nubian or Saanen buckling, let us know!

2024 Kidding began with triplets from Skye... Skye is our only Nigerian Dwarf and belongs to Ellie. As a 3 year old first timer, Skye delivered with no problems and is being a great mother. Ellie is over the moon happy with the new additions.

Kayden had a successful 4-H show at the 2023 Iowa State Fair. Kayden and Firecracker were selected as Grand Champion Nubian. Then went on to be selected as the 2023 Best Doe in Show. Firecracker is 8yrs old.

Well that was fun....
Joile was in labor when we got home from dinner and made no progress as we did chores.
We decided to check her before heading in with the milk bucket. And what do we find? A tail... no legs just a tail...well that ain't right!!!!! Needless to say, Joile had triplets tonight and everyone of them was backwards and the 2nd one added another twist by being upside down too. 1 buck and 2 doelings Momma and babies all doing well.

This is the second night in a row we have had to pull kids, and it truly takes a family effort on these difficult deliveries. From the 4 yr to the 40 plus year olds everyone has their jobs.. And without everyone doing their part we wouldn't have 5 healthy babies and 2 healthy mommas.
