So starvation can really damage a dog. Besides starvation & neglect obviously being able to cause death, it turns out it can cause a ton more problems that lurk inside and may not show up for a few years. If someone is unable to meet the basic needs of a pet, the pet should be given to someone who can. Or even better, ask for help. People will surprise you the lengths they will go to in order to help with your pets. Shelters and food pantries can sometimes help with food. If you are aware of a situation maybe reach out to the person and let them know they have options. Let them know there are people who care and want to help. And dear friends, if you are blessed to not have this awful problem in your home, please reach out and help where you can. Donate to your local shelter, rescue, vet office, food pantry, neighbor in need, etc. Dog and cat food is ALWAYS needed somewhere for some little (or big) four-legged friend who has absolutely no idea where his or her next meal is coming from.

About 4 weeks ago our Chance Love started only eating every other day and obviously didn’t feel well and then wouldn’t eat at all for two days so we took him to the vet. Labs showed he was in kidney failure. Our vet kept him there on an IV for a few days. When we visited he was just so sad, so as sooon as he was able we took him home. We got the special kidney care food for him and off we went to spoil him rotten knowing his time was most likely limited. He did great for several days, even rolling around happily in the grass! But when the worst case hit it was fast and there was nothing we could do but have him put out of his pain, seizures, and fear. Thank you to Dr Compton and all the vets and staff at McLendon Veterinary Clinic for caring so much aand going all the extra miles to care for our little Chance. He had a hard life his first year and a half and some damage just can’t be fixed. His four years with us were amazing and, even tho losing him hurts like crazy, we wouldn’t change bringing him home with us. We loved teaching him about unlimited food and loves. He had the best snuggles and hugs and care every single day. If you have furbabies, hold them and tell them how much you love them as often as you can. 🙂 Now we have six whom we love and cherish and are so thankful for having each one in our lives. Chance Love has left such a huge hole in our hearts. Roll in all the grass and fly high, Angel Boy! We hope we see you on the other side. ❤️

I didn’t see it coming, you know? But here we are. Surrounded by so many sweet four-legged loves it is sometimes overwhelming. Other times I think we can add a couple more that need a happy healthy home. Lol! None of ours can speak “people” and we can’t speak “dog”, but we have learned ways to communicate. We use hand signals and word commands (both are received by our pack as “recommendations”. Lol!). Life is good! Wouldn’t trade even one of them for all the money in the world. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Chief, my love, what were you thinking? Maybe that mommy put up a giant toy tree for you? Poor Santa ornament! On the positive side, though, you didn’t actually swallow any of the parts you separated from sweet Santa Claus. Hoping the actual Santa does not take offense. 😳🤦🏼‍♀️😆 And thankful said tree is anchored to the treadmill. 😊

Well the weather has set its sights on late fall/early winter here. Currently (10:00 am) the sun is shining and the temp is 43f. The only one of our furry friends here that is ecstatic about it is Chief. His winter coat is coming in and his happy place is anywhere outside in the cold playing and prancing happily! Yep. 145 lbs of pure strength and behaving the way he should have always been able to! Looking for a dog to love? You won’t ever regret getting a rescue/shelter fur baby! Just remember it is a lifetime commitment to love and care for and cherish your new best friend! Chief “Scooby” adopted from Jasper in December 2021. And he lives happily ever after!!!❤️

Covid has finally found its way to the Noland home. We are blessed to have each of us looking out for the other and hoping and praying our fur babies don’t get sick. Seems like I read early on that dogs could get it… but I honestly don’t know and am too tired to Google it! We have lots of good medicine and everything we need. Forgive us if we don’t always answer calls and texts right now as we navigate through this as best we can. I know people who have had it multiple times. Bless them! I am hoping when it leaves us, it stays gone! Prayers tonight for all who have battled through this and all who are currently going through it. Thanks to the Good Lord for His constant watch over us and His amazing care! Love from a distance, 🙂

Krimson, our pit/boxer mix, has had trouble with his ACL work-around surgery site healing (surgery FIVE years ago). Our amazing vet examined his open wounds from where he has been licking at it big time. He had surgery a couple of weeks ago to remove the implants from the original surgery that his body was apparently rejecting. Turns out they only need those in for about two weeks. He is doing incredibly well! It has been a scary few weeks for his humans who love him dearly, but finally he is healing nicely! He was able to stop wearing the cone collar late last week. Happy baby!
BIG Thanks to the amazing vets at McLendon Veterinary Clinic for all they do for our sweet challenging pack of 7!!!!!

Overdue update on Marley. He is -
one day shy of 11 weeks post ACL surgery. He is a mostly-free-to-do-as-he-pleases dog now. Still trying to keep him from jumping around a lot for now (like when delivery drivers show up). But he is doing well and officially off restrictions!!! He is so happy about that!!! :-)). I know it is hard to tell from his camera shy look here. :-))
