We are working endlessly in hopes to decrease the overpopulation of aband

oned and unloved dogs and puppies in our area,by encouraging and assisting with local spay and neuters for our community while we educate and advocate for those who have been forgotten, always speaking up for those without a voice.

To Whom it May Concern:
I am writing in support of The Pretty Pittie Committee program in the Mississippi
prison system that has figuratively rescued me.
Allow me to explain. After thirteen years with
my faithful companion, Oscar, I had to say goodbye to him in October. This was a profound loss for me and I vowed I would never have another pet. Unable to resist the inclination to scan the websites of pet adoption sites (rescues are the only option for me) I came across Ruby Tuesday.
The name Ruby Tuesday is a connection I have had with Oscar so I was compelled to investigate this further.
Upon all my due diligence and correspondence with the adoption agency and the
vetting process, I was ready to adopt Ruby. I was informed that Ruby had been trained by Arnold, an individual who is currently incarcerated in the Mississippi prison system. I was promised that she would be fully trained and ready to be adopted. On October 26, 2024, Ruby became mine. I cannot express to you enough how this has been by far the most remarkable pet adoption I have ever experienced. Ruby was completely trained, housebroken and was command obedient. would not have been able to adopt her if this was not the case. I am a special education teacher, I am out of the house early each day for five days a week. Having an untrained pet would not have been an option for me. Ruby is exactly what I needed.
I want to express my gratitude to Arnold, Ruby's trainer and the Mississippi
Correctional facility for making this possible. Ruby is my third adoption and I am overwhelmed by the calm demeanor and exceptional discipline she has. I have not experienced anything like this in my past adoptions.
Ruby is so well behaved that 1 am seriously considering having her
become a therapy dog in the New York City public schools that services students on the autism spectrum. I implore you to keep this program operational.

In my humble opinion, I see this program as a benefit for both the dogs and the This program provides a much needed foster home for the dogs and a sense of
responsibility and purpose for the inmates. It has been said that dogs can help people feel calmer, more mindful, and more present.
Because of the success of this program, I have encouraged
anyone who is looking to adopt a dog to contact the agency that works with the Mississippi correctional facility. This program is commendable, and I do believe a lot of the credit should go to those men who are working with these dogs. These dogs would not be so adoptable if it wasn't for these gentlemen and this wonderful program. I implore you to keep it going.

UPDATE - Chipper is house trained at his current short term foster although his owners said they had an issue with house training! It’s a gentle leader so when we’re out on walks or while he was at the prison training- so that he could pay attention and go where we want because he loves to go say hello to strangers! Nothing to do with any behavior issues he doesnt even have 🤣🙈

Hector is a social butterfly- loves playing with other dogs! Male or female!

He is fully potty trained , knows commands - kennel trained - rides good in a car! And walks great with or without the gentle leader ❤️

He’s about 60 / 65 lbs! Fully vetted - and maybe a little over a year old 🫶🏽

He’s looking for his own home with kids, or other dogs! Or he can just be the center of attention and just be your bestie!

His previous handler in the prison has made this dog thr BEST boy! And we would love to see him go find his family and show them .

He’s also having the time of his life digging in the dirt while we wait for some grass 😂

This boy! He learned to walk on a leash and sit today. Smartest little guy ever. G Money appears to be a black mouth cur mix. He is about 5 and 1/2 months old and about 35#. At his Petsmart debut he adored all humans big and small and every single dog he encountered. He is neutered and current on vetting and ready to find a home! Located in Hattiesburg but he can travel! “Perfection is found in embracing the beauty of imperfection,” Our sweet girl is just out here proving that not everything has to be perfect, that our flaws make us beautiful. That with determination anything is possible. She may need a break now and then. But mostly it’s because she knows our friend is going to cater to her and treat her like the princess she is. Sadie is great with other dogs and loves humans and is already fully trained. She’s taught us that forgiveness is vital, and that one persons trash is another’s treasure, that no matter what humans did to her in the past seeing her with our friend now she knows there is still good in the world. And she can put all her trust in him. It’s humbling and we are thankful for her, flaws and all.
