Handsome, sweet Willie is looking for his forever home.
Sweet humble Harvey needs a foster or adopter.
Here's another great action video of Callie. This little girl sure loves to play and a good stick is a favorite. Callie is an adorable and active three year old that we believe is an Australian Cattle Dog (aka Blue Heeler) mixed with some type of small breed terrier given her cute little facial features. Of course, only her DNA would know for sure. Callie doesn’t seem to be much on ‘herding tendencies’ but is active and full of energy so we do want a family invested in keeping her energy expended and her mind active.
She has not been socialized extensively; however, while she’s a little shy of new pets when she initially meets them, she warms up quickly. And, she was anxious to play with new friends after only spending a few minutes on a quick walk. Since this little jewel has been living in an apartment, she definitely will do better by having more outdoor time. She’s respectful of senior pets, doesn’t appear to have the nipping that some cattle dogs are prone to do and overall is just a great little pet with plenty of potential. She is fully housetrained. and good with kids. This 32 lbs. little cutie is eager to learn, enjoys showing off and is fairly energetic.
If you are interested in a good, medium sized companion, have the right environment, are active and eager to invest in a pet’s continued learning, please submit an application:

Here's a video of Rome - enjoying life. He so deserves to be in his forever home - enjoying life even more.
Sammie arrived near death - - literally. We were unsure if this pet would live or if our veterinarians could perform a big enough miracle to save him.
SAVE HIM they did! Village Way Veterinary spent weeks upon weeks helping Sammie recover investing both medical and emotional support for this weak, emaciated canine. And, our caregivers spent over a year working with this sweet soul helping him along his journey.
Sammie received an outpouring of support from our social media community and we sincerely APPRECIATE EVERYONE who helped by donating to his recovery. This pet, believed to be a pit and hound mix, recovered and spent the next year plus at Godbey Creek Canine Rescue. While we try our best, a rescue facility is still an institution . . . . AND he was in desperate need of a home.
FINALLY the right family came along for Sammie and his BIG day arrived. Sammie never hesitated a single step getting right into the car. he found a wonderful home and is very well loved by his new family. Sammie’s new mom calls him ‘a professional beggar’ because he runs and sits every time he hears the pantry door open or it’s time to begin ‘cooking in the kitchen’. He loves to ride in the car, loves his new deck and loves his new backyard. This handsome fellow has not had a single accident in the house and has taken ‘full command of his huge, spacious deck’ from which he can watch the world, both humans and canines, go by.
Sammie loves to watch the humans strolling along but does bark when he spies a small dog letting them know he’s on patrol. Although he received a brand new bed when he arrived, he decided that wasn’t good enough and wanted to enjoy his human’s more comfortable bed. Thankfully his human doesn’t mind although she insists that he “is quite the bed hog” when it comes to him taking up more space then he should need.
We're featuring his happy New Home Video and a video of Sammie is included in
Sweet Otto came from our local shelter and was an absolute gem of a rescue. ”Chip”, renamed by the children, went home just in time for the holidays and spent plenty of time with his new family. He loves playing with the children but the highlight of his day is picking them up from school. Mom ‘home schools’ Chip!
Chip finished his meds for a skin condition that has cleared up now and he never seemed to mind taking his medicine. He gets very excited for dinner and breakfast and sleeps peacefully in the crate by the human bed without a whimper. He does enjoy the frosty morning golf course walks and especially enjoys a quiet afternoon nap.
“He is so smart and keeps showing us more that he knows” commented his mom. “So far he’s learned sit, lay down, up (waits to be invited on the sofa) and drop it (when playing ball). He’s just the best boy.” And, he’s walking on leash like a pro! What an absolute sweetheart of a companion. Additional photos in Comments. What a sweet pup Chip is!
CONGRATUATIONS TO OTTO and THANK YOU to his new family for giving him a wonderful home!
After the holidays, some of us can totally relate...
Overweight Duke is getting plenty of exercise after more than a month in his new home.
Duke is having the time of his life and enjoys his new canine and feline companions.
Here's a short video of Chucho playing with some other dogs. He's a playful, spunky little fellow.
Ms. Willow (in the blue collar) adores her playmates and loves nothing better than a good chase with her new brother.
She's been in foster now for several days and has done beautifully with her canine companions. Sleeping with Dad has become a routine and she's even began bringing him his slippers!
If anyone deserves a chance at a new home and new life, it is Willow.
Ms. Willow was a resident of Godbey Creek Canine a few years ago and went home with a volunteer. This lovely girl came to us as part of a hoarding case from a shelter in eastern North Carolina where about half the dogs died.
However, Willow was returned recently to Godbey Creek Canine and is finding it hard to adapt without her human and her human home as she had become accustomed to living in a home environment. Homeless pets usually find it stressful to separate when surrendered and they return to or enter a kennel or shelter type environment.
Willow is about 6 years old and seems to be pretty mellow. She enjoys her walks, loves to get out and run through the woods and looks forward to a belly rub. Willow’s medical was not kept up-to-date so we took her for a medical update and discovered that she had erlichea and lyme disease. She’s been treated for both and we most definitely can see an improvement in the way she feels and acts; she has a new spring in her step!

These two guys live to play and adore each other. Even when Poppie, the larger and older dog gets tired, he simply gives Josh a little growl message and Josh leaves him alone. A few minutes later, they are back at it.
Josh is an 18 month old pup who bonds quickly. He needs a good home and an owner who can teach him not to be so protective inside the home. He’s fine outdoors with guests and visitors but becomes protective of his indoor space and his human.
Poppie is a great guy who gets along well with others as long as the other dog doesn’t show aggression. He does stand up for himself if another dog acts ugly.
Poppie adores his human and does not want to be left alone. Preferably he needs a human and a playmate.
Here's a short video Maggie Lynn. She's healthy and ready to bond with her new family.
Sweet, adorable and loving Maggie Lynn is an approximately eight year old beagle mix who only wants to be loved and petted and who has never met a stranger! While Maggie will come with all medical completed. She was heartworm positive but has successfully completed her treatment and is more than ready for a home that will love her.
If you have a big heart and want a dog who has plenty of love to give every human she meets, consider meeting Ms. Maggie. To be considered, be submit an application:
