Another Asheville Spring Warmup in the books! showed up and showed out! We would like to recognize our academy riders' hard work in preparation for this weekend--their ribbons showed it!
-Haleigh Thrasher taking home the blue in Adult WTC equitation & showmanship!
-Carsyn Carr with two reserves in Leadline 8&under WT, in a class of 7!
-Aubrey Gibson with a top three in Leadline 8&under WT, in a class of 7!
-Kenzie Frye with two reserves in Novice WT equitation & showmanship, in a class of 12!
We are overjoyed with the progress that all of these girls have made, and we can't wait to see them continue to grow this season!
Our evening session brought us home first with a championship ribbon for Deputy's Heir and Janelle D'Amato in the Ladie's Five Gaited Stake, showing for Karen Comer. Alex Nester showed his pony "Back In A Flash," taking home the reserve in the Jr. Exh. Roadster to Bike Stake. And finishing us off, another victory pass for Janelle and "Sharkbait Ooh Ha Ha," in ASB Ranch Rail!

Jansal Saddlebreds is different from your average American Saddlebred training facility. Simply put, we're not your average barn! We prefer a totally hands on approach between rider and horse, which has proven to make superior riders in and out of the ring. Students learn everything from horse management (feeding, first aid, stall care) to everyday work routines for horses (long lining, driving, bitting, tail sets, riding) and finally show prep (blacking, braiding, bracing, applying tail switches) and sportsmanship in the ring. We can proudly say all of our students are completely self sufficient in and out of the ring. If you want to do more than just show up and ride your horse, Jansal Saddlebreds might be the place for you and your horse!
Located on 55 acres of pristine North Carolina countryside, Jansal is a full-time state-of-the-art training facility with spacious stalls, indoor and outdoor arenas, large pastures, turn-out paddocks and extensive safe and scenic trails. In addition to first class breeding, sales, and training programs, Jansal offers top-notch private and group lessons taught by our acclaimed instructors for riders and drivers of all experience levels, in Saddleseat, Hunt Seat and Western. We are not a saddleseat barn, we are a saddlebred barn that shows our horses in all disciplines!
Janelle D’Amato is our professional trainer and head instructor. She has turned out many world, national and show ring champions over the last 16 years. Focused on bringing out the best in both horse and rider, she provides personalized instruction for the rider and custom training for each horse produces combinations designed to succeed on any circuit. Janelle spent her junior years under the tutelage of Smith Lilly, and as an adult had the honor of time in the saddle with Mr. Lewis Eckard and Mr. Claude Shiflet. She is also one of only 3 saddleseat instructors in the Carolinas to achieve their certification through the much acclaimed American Riding Instructor's Association (ARIA).
