It was a fabulous long weekend for Dark Side Dressage at this past weekend's Tryon Summer Dressage I & II Shows! I am beyond proud of all our riders and horses who put in fantastic rides each and every time they went out there. Every single duo finished the weekend with a personal best score in their test.

Charlie & HARVEY stepped into the sandbox for their second big show together and had 3 days of solid Intro tests despite Harvey being attacked by a bee on his way down centerline Friday.

Anna & MARSHALL moved up to Training Level and turned in great rides but more importantly qualified for USDF Dressage Seat Equitation Semi-Finals at Regionals this October with a whopping 71%!

AVA & COLTRANE also moved up to Training Level and had super tests and made so much growth together.

MARIE & BUTTERS made their final show appearance together before Marie heads off to UGA for college in August. It was bittersweet watching this powerhouse partnership strut their stuff together one last time (for now...) but seeing the amazing things they have accomplished together will forever be one of my greatest joys as a trainer/coach.

FINN and I also had a wonderful weekend
together after a rocky start. Had our personal best score in First Level test 2 and some wonderful scores and comments from the judges that let me know we are heading the right way! We are thrilled with how well Finn is doing in the Devoucoux saddle and so proud to be sponsored by this fantastic company!

Massive thanks to Jennifer Dipple Flowers for coaching me to success this weekend while simultaneously being show-mom to her own amazing daughter, Finleigh, at the Hunter Show on the other side of the showgrounds.

Thanks to Abi Walker and Kimberly Clements Allen for helping me with coaching and test-reading duties when ride times starting clashing! And to Jane Furches, Amanda Park Basinger, Lamenda Ennis Cashion, Brenda Jarvis, and Melissa Walker for being the best show-moms ever!
Mostly I want to thank all of the incredible support all our friends and family gave all weekend. Parents, siblings, boyfriends, girlfriends, aunts, cousins, friends...kept us all laughing, hydrated, fed and showered with love all week. Love you all!

Just a few pics from our wacky, awesome weekend at Primetime Dressage at CHP this weekend. Yeah, I was sick as a dog with the stomach virus from Hades, and poor Anna broke her finger so we both got sidelined, but it didn't stop us all from cheering on Ava and having an absolute blast! And Team Dark Side Dressage looked ON POINT with all our new logo gear!

Congratulations to our own AVA & COLE on qualifying this weekend for Dressage Seat Equitation Semi-Finals! She nailed it on her very first try with an impressive 75% and then went out and raised the bar again the next day with a whopping 78%! We are beyond proud of her and how far she has come with Cole in such a short time. You go girl!

Team Dixieland had a fabulous day at the TTC Hunter Show last Saturday! The whole gang was on fire (which was good 'cause it was quite chilly lol!). Congratulations on awesome rides to FLEMING & LILY, ABIGAIL & MIKE, LILY & REMY, TARYN & TERRY, and RACHEL & LILY. We are so proud of all of you and all your hard work!!

It's that time again! SUMMER HORSE CAMP 2024 registration is open! This year's dates are July 8-12 and July 22-26. Camp runs 8am to 2pm each day for ages 8 and up. Cost is $350 per camper, and a $50 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your spot. Camp fills up quickly so contact Marissa ASAP to register and join us for a fun-filled week of all things horsey!

Team Dixieland kicked off the 2024 show season with a fabulous performance at the Piedmont Classic Hunter Show! It was chilly and windy as heck but nothing could get in the way of our riders and horses laying down their best rides! Congratulations to RACHEL & LILY and HAILEY & REMY...so proud of you both!!

It was an out-of-this-world awesome day for Team Dixieland at yesterday's HERO Benefit Horse Show! We helped support a fantastic cause and earned a dizzying amount of ribbons and trophies. To say I am proud of this crew would be an immense understatement...I am blown away by them! Congratulations to DELANEY & REMY (who won every single class they entered as well as the walk/trot Championship), TYLER & TERRY (who pinned in every class they entered and won the walk/trot/canter Championship class) and VICTORIA & LILY (who pinned in every single class they entered)!! These riders are the pinnacle of teamwork, horsemanship and determination. I am blessed to be their trainer! Way to go!!

Wowed what a day Team Dixieland had at yesterday's TTC Hunter Show! Every single rider came home with ribbons and I am so proud of each and every one of them for going out there and doing their absolute best! All of their hard work has clearly paid off. Congratulations to KEEGAN & REMY, FLEMING & LILY, JENNA & COLE, ABIGAIL & TERRY, GRACIE & REMY, RACHEL & LILY, and AVA & COLE!! These ladies displayed horsemanship, sportsmanship, teamwork and outstanding equitation each time they stepped into the irons. Gracie made her horseshow debut and piloted Remy to a Champion ribbon in the 18" division...quite the entrance! And Ava took Cole through the 2' division clinching a Reserve Champion ribbon! Everyone stepped up their game this show...way to go!

Woohoo! We capped off our week at the RRP Thoroughbred Makeover show here at the Kentucky Horse Park by winning the stall decorating contest! And by "we" I really mean Amanda Basinger because she did it all singlehandedly. From concept to construction, she took the movie-theme requirement of the contest and created this gorgeous, and very accurate chronical of Casey and Houston's emotional journey to the Thoroughbred Makeover with an Inside Out themed display. Way to go!!!
