We have seen multiple pets come in with foxtails.

What are foxtails?

Foxtails, a type of grass with barbed seeds, can pose serious health risks to animals, especially dogs and cats, due to their ability to pe*****te skin, migrate into tissues, and cause infections. The barbed seeds easily attach to fur, can be inhaled, ingested, or even burrow through the skin, leading to potential complications like abscesses, infections, and even death.

Prevention:
Avoid areas with foxtails, keep your pet's fur trimmed, and check them regularly for foxtails after being in potentially risky areas.
Early Removal:
If you find foxtails on your pet's fur, try to remove them.
Veterinary Care:
If you suspect your pet has swallowed, inhaled, or has an embedded foxtail, or if they are showing symptoms, seek immediate veterinary care.

It’s always a good idea to double check that the company you registered your pets microchip is still active and that your information (phone number, address, e-mail address) is up to date.

It was a great and busy Friday. We were unable to get a group photo of our whole staff but managed to snag a few pics of our gals throughout the day! 🐶 🐱
