Friends,

We are currently trying to stay afloat with all of the medical cases we have taken on recently. As you know, NAWS has a clinic on site. However, we do not have the time or resources to properly care for medical emergencies that come into our rescue. Because of this, we need to send these pups or kitties to offsite medical facilities in order to receive the lifesaving care that they so deserve.

We are having a hard time paying down medical debt that we owe to these clinics, and we are close to not being able to save any other medically fragile animals until it gets paid down.

Below are the current pups who are needing support. These pups cannot receive care until we pay down our medical bills....so it is life or death!

Charlie (pictured below):
Charlie came to us with severe pneumonia. He had to be hospitalized for several days in order to remain stable. He is on his recovery journey now, but still very fragile. His hospitalization cost us a lot of money, and we are still recovering from the bills.

Falkor (pictured below):
Falkor is currently hospitalized and needing daily medication and round the clock care just to keep breathing. He has a liver shunt and will need to undergo surgery in order to live. We are of course dedicated to him staying alive, as he is so young, but the cost will cripple us even more. We need to raise funds so he can live on his own happy and healthy without medical attention.

Kory (pictured below) :
Kory has a severely fractured pelvis and femur... he came to us this way. Of course we can never say no to the ones who need us the most and we took him on. He is currently waiting for corrective surgery once we can raise the funds to do so.

Dunkin (pictured below):
Dunkin has a bilateral torn ACL...she needs both of them repaired. This is very painful for pups and we are focused on raising funds so she can get the surgery she needs asap.

Pictured seperately is Heuy. :
Heuy was brought in to an animal hospital after being viciously attacked by another animal. The owners could not afford to help him, so they relinquished ownership to us and we got to work. He is currently recovering in a foster home but we are still paying off the bills we acquired after saving him.

All of these pups are either on the road to recovery thanks to NAWS...or patiently waiting for care once we receive more funding. We will not be able to help them unless we are able to raise funds. We are counting on our NAWS Army to step up and assist us in this fight! We know we can always count on you all!

❤️ Adopt Ozzie & Izzie ! ❤️

Check out this adorable brother and sister bonded pair - they are ready to find their forever home together.

Ozzie and Izzie are just shy of their first birthdays. Izzie, the beautiful short-haired calico, has a fun and playful spirit. Her brother, Ozzie, is a stunning long-haired boy with a more reserved nature.

They love wrestling, snuggling up for naps, and playing with their favorite toys, especially small mice and tunnels. Give them a little time to adjust to a new home, and they will share their sweet personalities. Izzie adores being held and petted, while Ozzie enjoys affection on his own terms, particularly when it comes to mealtime—he loves food!

Please consider offering a loving home to these sweet young siblings - they will bring double the love and joy to any family lucky enough to adopt them!

⭐️⭐️ Come meet some amazing adoptable cats at the PetSmart in Mokena!⭐️⭐️

Did you know that some of our adoptable kitties reside at the PetSmart in Mokena (21430 Wolf Road) while waiting to find their forever homes? Stop in to meet them!

Manchas - This 6-year old gentleman is ready for a safe and loving home after being rescued from a local animal control. He is quiet, calm and a bit reserved - he prefers to observe the activity around him rather than jumping in to it. He loves gentle pets and attention - chin scratches are his favorite.

Dolly and Fitz - This adorable 9-month-old sister and brother bonded pair are incredibly friendly and affectionate. They love attention and will immediately crawl into your lap if given the chance. They are sweet, social and incredibly cute! You will get double the love with this duo.

Lucky Girl - This beauty will be a wonderful companion kitty. At 3 years old, she needed to be rescued from a shelter in southern Illinois - she is now ready for her happily ever after. She is gentle, friendly and affectionate. She enjoys being petted and likes belly rubs.

Calzone - This handsome 3-year-old boy was sadly found as a stray - he would love to find a home where he can feel safe. He would do best with a patient adopter, as he can be stressed in busy environments and needs a little time to show his personality. Once comfortable though, you will quickly see he is friendly and curious. He just wants to be loved.

Popeye the Sailor Man - This big, sweet soul has waited so long to find a home, and it breaks our hearts. He is a 1-year-old boy that is timid at first but we believe will blossom in a forever home. He is playful and loves tunnels and toys. He is good with other cats and likes gentle pets. He is just a large, docile sweetheart that has waited patiently to find his forever people. Can you be his hero?

❤️🐈‍⬛ Adopt Arizona and Alaska! 🐈‍⬛❤️

Bring double the love and twice the fun to your home with these adorable sisters! They are a bonded pair and are looking for a forever home together.

Arizona and Alaska are 6-months-old. They were found as tiny strays, but have been lovingly cared for and socialized in a foster home. They have affectionate and friendly personalities and love to cuddle. Both girls love to be around people and share their love. They are curious, confident and silly kittens that can occasionally get into a bit of mischief, but it's always in good fun and reflects their playful nature.

Arizona and Alaska are very attached to each other and need to be adopted together. Both girls love to play and wrestle with each other and after their playful matches, they enjoy sleeping snuggled up together. They are stunning girls with shiny coats and expressive eyes. Whether they are purring contentedly in your lap or playing with each other, Arizona and Alaska will bring warmth and joy to any home.

❤️ Adopt Noelle and Nicholas! ❤️

These two gorgeous 8-month-old kittens are looking for their forever families. Noelle and Nicholas are littermates that were found as young strays and brought indoors to safety. Although initially very shy, they have been learning about love from people and have made progress every day. - we are so proud of them! While not bonded, we know they would love to be adopted together.

Noelle would love to find a patient adopter that will give her time to trust and adjust to a new home. Once she feels comfortable and establishes trust, look out, because she is an adorable little purr machine who will rub all over you and gently make biscuits on you (including your face). She is gaining confidence in her foster home and loves to play, cuddle and eat. She gets along well with other cats if given proper introduction.

Nicholas is more timid than his sister. He needs an experienced adopter that will be patient with him as he can be more fearful. Once comfortable, he show his sweet and gentle personality - he loves to cuddle and will purr but is still nervous about being picked up. He loves to stand on his foster’s back and is a hugger once he trusts. Nicholas loves wand toys, playtime and massages on his forearms. He also gets along with other cats given proper introduction.

Please consider giving these precious kittens a home. They have so much potential. They have come so far and will undoubtably bond with the adopter(s) who make them feel safe and loved. You can help write the last chapter and happy ending of their story of rescue.

🐾 The Seniors of St. Elizabeth Seton Church held donation drive for the pets at NAWS and raised over $100!

🐾 Brogan, whose project for NJHS was to hold a donation drive for the pets at NAWS, and he also raised over $260!

Calling all Pizza Lovers!

What if we told you that you can save pets while eating pizza? Well you can now on April 30th!

We have partnered with Lou Malnatis at 5 different locations for a Pizza Party fundraiser! On April 30th, the Tinley Park, New Lenox, Homer Glen, Oak Lawn, and Palos locations of Lou Malnatis will be donating 20% of their sales to all who come to eat for NAWS!

In order for this fundraiser to happen, we need people to RSVP to eat below (even if you are unsure you can make it). And in order for us to receive the 20%, you must tell them you are eating for NAWS!

Sending a huge THANK YOU to Elizabeth (.by.elizabeth on Instagram) for fixing our sweet Mitchell up!!

Mitchell came to us injured and matted. He had to have his leg amputated, and was finally able to be groomed this weekend. He is feeling so much better! Thank you Elizabeth! ❤️

A giant and heartfelt Thank You! to Sarah Kastengren, the Century Junior High School National Junior Honor Society and everyone who participated in their recent bake sale which helped raise $131 for the pets at NAWS! And a very special Thank You! to Sarah’s grandparents who added $200 for a total donation of $331!! We are so grateful for our wonderful animal loving community!!

❤️❤️ Check out this extraordinary beauty!! Meet Seashell! ❤️❤️

If you are looking for a cat that is unique, without a doubt, Seashell meets the requirement. She is a Siamese mix, but also has tabby markings on her face, legs and tail. Her eyes are crossed, adding to her unusual look - we think they add to her adorable appeal! She is stunning!

Seashell is 2 years old. She came to NAWS to avoid euthanasia in a Kentucky shelter. She is quiet and observant in her new surroundings and likely wondering what happens next in her life. She is friendly and appreciative of pets and attention - she has the softest coat. She loves toys and is a big fan of little stuffed toy mice.
