Had to reconfigure again, this time in the backyard. Used some of my round pen panels to make a dividing fence in the backyard. Now there is the pup pup dog door for the sharkies, & a new dog door for the bigger barkies. Work day problem solved!

An interview with three little pup pups on a dog blanket:
Q: “Have you met any perspective new heart humans, & if so, how did it go? Do you think they will be back when they realize You Are The One?”

Wings: “Two really nice dog mommas came one day & did stuff with us, Kristina & Devora. They gave us treats & we all really liked them! We were Temp-a-mutt tested & it was fun.”

Nesta: “Yah, they came back the next week & pup-napped one of our brothers! We all wanted to go for a ride, but nooooo☹️”

Glimmer: “We heard he got to go on a BOAT…..in the WATER!!! We like water! We all think it is our sister Tula Pink’s fault, cuz she’s a mean girl!”

Wings: “No one has come to pup-nap the rest of us & now we are sad…☹️ PLEASE SEND OUR 💜 HUMANS ASAP!!!!!”

So went to a NoseWork trial this weekend & left Jack with the pup pups. They wanted to go outside & knew he was going to let them….he sent me this recording!

Molalla, OR Born: 01/24/24. Health clearance, wormed at 3, 5, 7, 9 weeks, vaccinated. 3 red tri females, 2 with full collars & 1 half collar, 1 red merle female with full collar, 2 red merle males one with full collar & 1 mismark with mostly wht head. They know how to use the dog door!

Dear ASCA Members,

We are thrilled to announce that Marie Murphy has been selected as the recipient of the 2023 ASCA Lifetime Achievement Award. During the spring meeting, Liaison McCabe presented the History Committee's recommendation to the Board, who unanimously approved the motion to award Marie this prestigious honor.

Marie has made remarkable contributions to ASCA, particularly in the ASCA junior program. Her dedication to the organization and the juniors she mentored is truly commendable and deserving of recognition. As a judge, breeder, affiliate founder, and stock provider, Marie's influence in her area is immeasurable. Marie has been in Aussies since 1974 and her kennel, Diamond Aire, is ASCA Hall of Fame #4 and Hall of Fame Excellent #3.

We would like to extend our gratitude to Heather Oslie, Melissa Borde, and Kathy Sianko for nominating Marie and providing letters of support.

Update regarding Bordetella vaccines and MDR1

We have received a couple of contacts recently regarding Bordetella vaccines for MDR1 dogs. There is apparently a rumor circulating that dogs with the MDR1 mutation can react to the vaccine.

We contacted the Veterinary Clinical Pathology Lab at Washington State University where the MDR1 mutation was discovered. They have no knowledge of adverse reactions to this vaccine triggered by the MDR1 gene. Therefore there is no indication that you should avoid this vaccine in these dogs.
