We've decided to transition back to Etsy!
Since we will no longer be selling toys, or treats (other than Yak Chews) and we will be stopping most markets at the end of this season we decided it was best for us to stay on a platform that we could link to our square account and will help other shop with us without me needing to do social media blasts, emails, and all my own marketing.
With that being said I have finally got photos done for a lot of our new prints and all these are listed on Etsy as well!

We’ve had a couple people reach out regarding reopening the website!

As of right now, it’s closed - but I will work on reopening it this weekend.
•
Our website costs relight $85 a month to operate, so please know that we do need the support online in order for it to be realistic to keep it open!
I will post when it has been opened up again.

August is Child Support Awareness Month and we are collecting donations to create travel packs for children in foster care. Travel packs will be donated to
The Center of Youth and Family Solutions - who happen to be our neighboring office in Rock Island.

My personal goal is to be able to donate 10 travel packs by the end of August.

Oakie had 2 seizures over the weekend, we got bloodwork done and it does not look like his seizures are associated with kidney/liver disease.
He has started a new medication he has to take 2x a day and we will retest bloodwork in 6 months.
•
We were referred for an MRI - given a range between $2,500 - $3,400 for the cost of that. Oooof.
I will be working on getting the website back up and running to try and help get some extra income in on top of farmers markets.

✨ Full Transparency Moment ✨

This year we decided to do both Saturday and Sundays at the Freight House since it’s our final season doing weekend shows. The first few weeks were okay, however the last 4-5 weekends we have made less than $150 on Sundays - we pay our employees $100 for the day so realistically when I add in the cost of gas, and labor the week to prepare - we’re losing money on Sundays.

We are going to do 1 more Sunday next weekend and if sales are the same we will only be at Saturday markets going forward.

***Saturday June 27th, we will not be at Freight House Farmers' Market**

Unfortunately, this week has been a lot and I haven’t been able to get bandanas done.
Blaire has Hand Foot and Mouth disease so we’ve been disinfecting and cleaning, Myles was supposed to have his birthday party this weekend but because of this we’ve had to cancel his party and make different arrangements, my car had to go to the shop to get the front end repaired completely, and then today we woke up to Oakie have a large seizure and had to take him to the vet and get more bloodwork.

I apologize for the inconvenience, we’re hoping to be able to be there on Sunday.

Oakie is what Oakie’s Designs is all about.

Oakie is a 2 year old Rottweiler who loves anybody and everything. He has an infectious smile and a d***y personality (in a very endearing way). Unfortunately because of Oakie’s size when we were out on walks people would get scared and shy away from him so I wanted to get him something that would match his loving personality. Nowhere I looked had exactly what I was looking for so I decided to create something unique and personal. It was around Christmas time and I wasn't sure what design I wanted so I bought a few different fabrics to work with. I worked on a few different patterns and realized that I loved how they looked on him. So, being the social media butterfly that I am I posted pictures of all the new accessories Oakie had to choose from. My notifications then began to blow up. Friends, Family, and Strangers were all contacting me asking me if I was selling the items. Quickly I realized this was going to be a popular item. I talked to my family about a possible small business idea, being a full time college student while working a full-time 8:30 - 5 doesn’t exactly leave “time” for that sort of thing. But, we decided that my love of animals and the joy it brought me would help me find the determination to create a business that I loved. So here we are now. I hope you enjoy being apart of out family and I can’t wait to see all the pictures of big and small pets that choose us for their pet accessories. I am grateful for each and every person who just looks at our page because without all of you this wouldn’t be able to happen .
