👋🏼 Meet Oakley. Oakley and her sister Susie were brought in by a Good Samaritan. Both dogs were found hit on the side of the highway. Oakley was diagnosed with multiple pelvic fractures, a femoral fracture, and a radial fracture.
The whole MVH team went to quick work to help save Oakley’s life. She is spending 6 weeks recovering from her orthopedic surgery and was adopted by Allison, one of our veterinary assistants! ❤️

People often ask me what the favorite part of my job is. Most think my answer will be playing with puppies or seeing cute kittens. My answer has always been helping our community members by keeping their pets healthy. The human animal bond is a wonderful gift from God and one I get to experience everyday.

Today we said goodbye to a great patient and awesome owner as they are moving away. Our whole team was sad as we will miss seeing them. It’s great clients and patients like Susan and Roscoe that make me love my profession.

Kora had a hard time breathing because her nostrils were too small and she had extra tissue in her throat. A special instrument called a surgical laser was used to widen her nostrils and remove the extra throat tissue. Now she can breathe much easier! 🐶 😊

Pete took up residence at MVH over a decade ago and has never left. Pete can be found inspecting the treatment area for snacks, running out the front door so someone chases him, or begging for Easy Cheese 🧀. His hobbies include lying down on the keyboard while you are trying to use it or getting in your lap as soon as you sit down to eat. 🐈‍⬛

Monett Veterinary Hospital was founded in 1953 by Dr. C.J. McCormick. In 1983, the hospital became AAHA accredited and has surpassed the expectations of AAHA ever since. Dr. Brent Herrin owned and operated MVH from 2001 to 2018, when it was sold to Dr. Erin Carnes. A Monett native, Dr. Carnes and her husband Zach, look forward to serving the Monett community and their furry family members for decades to come.
