❄️ When temperatures dip below 20°F, it’s crucial to keep your furry friends safe and warm! 🐾 Dogs and Cats, especially small or short-coated breeds, can be at risk for hypothermia and frostbite in extreme cold.

Keep an eye on signs of discomfort (shivering, lethargy, or paw lifting) and always protect those paws from ice and ❄️ snow.

We were contacted a little over a week ago about two mini poodles who needed rescue placement. Quad City Animal Welfare Center kindly agreed to take them in.

Today, Phillip Cooper drove to Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, to bring Cash & Harley to safety. Once back at QCAWC, they’ll receive thorough check-ups before heading into foster homes. After they’re settled, vetted, and neutered, they’ll be ready to find their forever families.
If you’re interested in adopting one of these dogs—or any of the other animals we’ve transported—please visit QCAWC to meet the many wonderful pets waiting for homes.

We’d like to thank Pet Supplies Plus in Burlington, Iowa, for hosting us on Sunday, as well as everyone who joined us for our Free Microchip Clinic.

This Sunday November 16th, 2025 from 1pm-4pm at Pets Supplies Plus in Burlington, Iowa.

A few things to remember: We will be set up in the back of the store for our free clinic. If for some reason the line appears to be outside please wait in your vehicle until you can stay inside the store. Dogs & Cats from any county are welcome! *Cats must be in carriers and dogs must be leashed or in a carrier. If you have any questions please feel free to message us or email us [email protected].

You don't need to pre-register for this event. Just show up between 1pm-4pm. Free Lifetime Registration and updates are included along with your Free Microchip. Help spread the word and share this great Free event! We will be accepting monetary donations for Freedom Ride Animal Rescue.

Thank you to Canvas-Connections for an incredible fundraiser and to Reserve Artisan Ales in Galesburg, IL, for generously providing your space today. We had a fantastic turnout—what a wonderful way to spend a chilly afternoon crafting and connecting with friends!
