✈️And we’re off!✈️
Tomorrow officially, but no lessons today while I pack and prepare the barn! I’ll be out of town from 10/30 until 11/5! There are no lessons this week, but we’ll return to our normal schedule once we return!

Once we get back we’ll be reviewing our schedule and possibly opening some time up to welcome some new kids to the program!

🌧️The rain is here! 🌧️

Hopefully this helps clear up the smoke and lessons can maintain their normal schedule!

That being said, this week we welcomed a new kiddo to our program! We welcomed Harper with our complementary Bush Bucket! These are by far my favorite things to put together for my kiddos, and my favorite responsibility to give them! They are responsible for taking their buckets home and bringing them to every lesson so they have all the materials they need to take care of their horses! I do my best to match each bucket to each child’s favorite colors! Harper’s mom said her favorite colors are pastel pink and sage green!

Hey guys! I know I’ve been a little quiet here, it’s hard to remember to take pictures while I’m teaching lessons 😅 with school starting up and my full time job needing me for more hours, lessons are a little slow at the moment!

One constant rider has been Nevaeh, who does phenomenal with Nelly! Her confidence has blossomed and we are working up from a walk to trotting. With the smoke clearing we went for a walk on the trail on property to end out most recent lesson!

“When is it too hot to ride?”

This is a question I got a lot last week looking into the heatwave of this week! I rescheduled my lessons for this week to another time to avoid this excessive heat, but here is the answer to the above question!

The high for today is 90 degrees with a 58% humidity, following down below how to find the heat index that brings us to 148 which is right at that “Don’t Ride” line!

This week the horses are getting turned out after the sun goes down and getting cold, fresh water and cool treats in the barn throughout the day to help them stay cool! Hope everyone enjoys what they can in the heat and stays safe!

As my students have already found out, after every lesson I ask that they do these stretches with the horse! These are good pre or post ride! Our horses are athletes, just like us riders. And just like it is important for us to stretch before or after stenosis activity, horses need it too! Here’s just a few you can try at home with your own horse or after a lesson!

Welcome Buckets are here!

All students under the age of 18 receive their very own bucket full of the necessary horse grooming utensils and of course a much needed bag of treats at their fist lesson! This is for lesson kids to keep and bring to each ride, and they can keep them even after they finish their lessons!

I have been getting asked a lot lately if I give adult beginner lessons, and the answer is yes I do! The word “beginner” doesn’t have an age limit to define it, and whether you are getting back into riding after some time off or filling your inner horse child’s dreams, I am happy to take on students of any age!

Welcome to Pierced Arrow Lesson Program!

My name is Roberta, I have been riding since I was just a wee thing! After convincing my mother, I started riding lessons when I was 6 years old, and began competing and leasing horses when I was 11. I’ve been competing in local clubs and shows in Patterened Horse Racing and Barrel Races.

My goal with starting this lesson program is to share my knowledge with those seeking to get a foothold in the horse community! I offer private lessons so that I can really get to know my students and be able to tailor my lessons to focus on their personal goals to help them become the horseman/woman they want to be.
