PSA! Spring break is next week for a lot of people in our area. Many of you will be boarding your dogs or having a pet sitter come to let your dogs out or take them on walks. This is a gentle reminder that some sort of GPS tracking device would be a great tool to have as a safety net for your furry friend. I’ve seen too many sad stories of dogs missing starting around this time of year and carrying on through the vacation season. So do you and your dog a quick favor and buy some thing that will track where they are. The easiest and cheapest solution that I have found is an apple AirTag. I have these for all of my dogs and find them to work for me. These don’t work in heavily wooded areas, they do work as long as there are Apple products in the area that the tag can ping off of. There are also GPS tracking collars that require a subscription on top of the pricey GPS collar, but they are most efficient. So just a word of advice from me, get something for your dog so you don’t have to worry about calling a dog recovery company. It will not only help your dog sitter, it will also help ease the stress of you and your dog!

Love love love when my clients notice a difference in their pups!!! (Please excuse the grammatical errors! It’s not supposed to say “par” but it is supposed to say “paw”.) Talk to text was not in my favor today! 🤦🏼‍♀️ But I’m still amazed when people can see a difference within a week of me being with a new dog!! ❤️ 🐾

With the heat this weekend and summer so close, this is a FANTASTIC chart for knowing when it is safe to keep dogs outside in regards to temperatures. A dog's temperature is higher than a human's—approximately 101 degrees F to 102.5 degrees F, with an upper level of normal close to 103 degrees F. So ambient air temperature feels hotter to them than it does to us. For the dogs I’m watching this weekend, they are between a level 4 and 5! So we make for quick potty breaks and outdoor fun for 15 minutes, then it’s back to cool water and the AC inside with lots of toys to prevent boredom!!

Jax E Boy Pet Sitting just got a new high tech upgrade!! After seeing many dogs during Spring Break run off on their pet sitters—none of which were under my care thank God—I decided to invest in Apple Air Tags for any dog while under my care. Through my experience, I’ve learned to NEVER trust an invisible fence and anything can set a dog off from backing out of a harness/collar (fireworks, other animals, etc.). Thankfully I’ve always been able to catch this before it happens but one can never be too prepared. It can happen to ANYONE, even the most experienced pet sitter. I also have glow in the dark collars for nighttime, so they’re easier to spot, and glow in the dark Apple Air Tag covers to go on the collar. Hopefully this eases the anxiety for me of a dog taking off. Especially new dogs that I walk/watch, Pandemic puppies who are used to their owners being home all the time, and dogs that test the invisible fence line. I will have full contact with the location of your dog and be able to locate them safely. I hope I never have to use these to locate a lost dog, but at least I’m prepared for it now if I ever have to live that nightmare of a lost dog under my watch.

2022 SPRING BREAK IS DONE!! From early morning/late afternoon/late evening dog visits, boarding and taking care of my own fur babies, IT’S A WRAP!! I loved EVERY SECOND OF IT. But, this pet sitter is taking the night off until tomorrow! Thank you all who put your TRUST in me to board your dogs, visit your houses, and have faith that I will show up to care for your loves while you are all enjoying the fresh days of Spring! And thank you to my wonderful husband and girls for coming on this ride with me!! You all deserve a Mental Health Day on Jax E Boy!! Until tomorrow when my dailies start up again…GOOD NIGHT!!! Love you all!! ❤️ 🐾 🐕 🐈

When you’re a Vizsla, you search for birds in the morning and run off some energy! I let this boy do what his instincts tell him during my morning visits (within his yard) and in the afternoon we play with frisbees and tennis balls. Strider can run up to 40 mph and needs at least 60 minutes of exercise a day so we make sure that happens. Whether it’s through instincts or just playtime, he is able to be in his house without getting into any trouble. And at night, he is a pure sweetheart. He loves his nightcap chew bone and some belly rubs and playing with his indoor toys. Good with his humans and children. This breed is an all around great dog!! Adventures in Pet Sitting: when the dog you’re watching goes on high alert and the neighbor comes over and tells you there’s a BOBCAT in the back yard!! 😱 Nope..we don’t mess with wildlife. Jax made sure to tell him to leave and we went inside to play.
