I can't put into words how much I love this horse. I'm finally learning how to sit back and keep her in front of my leg, and she's learning how to stretch through her back and down into the bridle. She got to pop over a little crossrail as a reward for being so good on the flat. Look at her go 😍

So fun watching my trainer ride Piper today! She's really loving her happy mouth bit and figuring out how to use her body! 😍

A clip from our lesson with this afternoon! I'm dealing with some back issues (dislocated rib and pinched nerves in my lower back/right hip) so it was a rough ride for me, but Piper was such a star! She felt amazing and we are really starting to figure it out. So glad to have found a great trainer! πŸ™Œ

It's hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that this is my horse! She's really starting to fill out and come into herself. Also, huge thank you to Morgan for riding her tonight while my back is healing! 😁

Baby girl got all dressed up for a light walk/trot in the arena tonight! Trotted over this little crossrail and she was perfect, so we quit & called it a successful night 😍❀

Baby Piper is in her awkward, gangly teenager phase of life πŸ˜‚
Also, I spy Revel in the background, stealthily watching... 🐢

I had an equine body worker come out to look at Piper after her accident on Saturday afternoon.

Robert Roffman, of Performance Equine Bodywork, worked wonders on her tonight! She's never had this kind of work done to her before so she was a little out of her element, but she was great.

Here you can see her favorite part, having her gums rubbed and finding a pressure point to relieve some cranial stress! The second Robert stopped, she rubbed her head on him until he started again πŸ˜‚

Robert confirmed what I originally thought on Saturday. She was tight in her shoulders and head/neck from the impact of the fence and the ground when she flipped over on herself twice. But she is happier and healthier, and we can both take a big sigh of relief! ❀

Piper is cheesin' about her new pasture time! Slowly but surely, she's being adjusted to grass. It's important to remember to wean a horse onto pasture in increments. Too much at once can cause a horse to overeat and founder. If you are new to this, make sure to have your trainer or an experienced horse person help you out to ensure the easiest transition for your horse! 😊

Piper continues to amaze me day after day! This was our first ride in North Carolina, only three days after her arrival! Not ONE naughty baby moment. Walk, trot, canter with a very willing attitude! By far one of our best rides together. πŸ’•
