I have had rescued animals all my life, many having come from shelters. I have witnessed first hand how stressful it is for a pet that has come from that to then be placed in a kennel when you are gone on vacation. They don't understand it is just temporary or that you are going to return for them, they think and act like they have been given up. I vowed to never put my dogs or any of my pets into
a kennel when we were gone for any length of time. Pet sitting is the answer to alleviating stress on your pets. Your pets routine goes on as normal as possible and they are holding down the fort until you return. For years I took care of others pets/homes while they were on vacation in Colorado. We have now moved to Utah and I want to continue to provide a service I think is invaluable to keeping your pets safe and cared for. I think I bring something that this area has been lacking. With a degree in Wildlife Biology and 24 years as a Zoo Keeper I am equipped to handle any animal you might have that needs looked after. I have large animal experience (we are also starting a farm animal rescue), exotic animal experience (I have rescue rabbits, have had hedgehogs, chinchillas, rats, hamsters...) both in my own home and what the large variety I worked with at the zoo. I can take care of special needs animals having lots of experience with medicating, injections, gavage, giving fluids and am used to being able to pick up quickly when an animal is having any type of problem. I did wildlife rehabilitation for years while in college and I am getting back into it locally working with the Second Chance Wildlife Rehabilitation that covers the Sevier area. In a nut shell- Take a Vacation, you are overdue for one and i will make sure your animals are well looked after while you are away. Large animals (cattle, sheep, pigs...), companion animals (dogs, cats, rabbits...), exotic animals (reptiles, snakes, tarantula, hedgehog...) and special needs animals (diabetic, special medications...). I would love to help you.
